ActionScript 3.0 :: Make The HTML Dimensions A Percentage?
Apr 22, 2011
I want to make the HTML dimensions a percentage (so it scales with the web browser) but the problem is when i do that, aspects of my animations which i dont want visible (that start outside of the sage) become visible on the page. And if i set the size in pixels or to fit the movie, the things i dont want visible are not visible, but the artefact doesn't scale with the web browser.
how to make a my swf appaer as a percentage of the screen not a defined size and I can't seem to work it out. I nee something to appear on screen at a resonable size. 640 by 480 is too big for certain users and width="480" height="360" is too small for others.
I want to make a MC called bgFade cover a percentage of the flash movie. So the MC starts at the bottom and covers 80% of the vertical space of the Flash movie. So theres 20% at the top that isn't covered. At the moment i have:
...Which places the MC at the botton of the movie, and makes it fill all the horizontal space. So what can i add to that to make it fill 80% vertically?
create a counter using actionscript? the scene is 30 frames long and it's sopposed to get a new value with every frame. something like counter++; example: 70% should turn 71%, 72%.... 100% (but not as a preloader animation)
I tried it, using the while loop like this in first frame: while (counter < 100) {
how do i make sure my flash movies are clipped at their stage dimensions for html.as it is now, anything thats big enough to over lap or are off my stage still show up.all i want displayed is whats on the stage, and nothing else. is there a specific code i need to use? or is it just a check box setting that i cant find in my publish settings?
When I change the dimensions on a document, and for example make it taller, the background becomes taller in the direction DOWN. But.. how do I make it go up, if you know what I mean? When I make the dimensions taller, why cant it increase up?
I'm trying to make a simple animated movieclip act as a preloader for a larger website, and have its play reflect the percentage that has been loaded. I've seen a lot of code for various preloaders that involve text or a movieclip being scaled, but not anything regarding controlling the playhead of a movieclip.
This is what I thought would work. PreLoaderMC is the class name of a MovieClip symbol in the .fla's library. I've omitted the Loader stuff [code]...
How can I make a preloader that shows percentage/bar for a movie loaded in with LoadMovie?
I've tried using a normal preloader (the one from Kirupa) in the "to load" movie, but it doesn't work.
Is there a way to have the preloader assess how big the movie to load is, how a bar etc. and have the movie hidden until 100% is loaded (as seen on the bar)?

In AS3, I have a Sprite that has a Z axis rotation applied.How do I calculate that Sprite's dimensions (it's original size) from Sprite.rotationZ and Sprite.getRect(...)?
What do I have to write to keep the movieclip not to change dimensions if the user starts playing with the dimensions of his screen ? I remember it was a line of as3 written at the beginning.
I am Developing a flash site, I made it full screen and centered the content my flash contains a jpg photo with a certain size. My question is I want my site to be full screen and fit the window dimensions and the content will be scaled depending on the screen dimensions without the content being bad quality whatever the screen resolution (1042*786 or 800*600) or any dimensions. I want to make my site looks the same for all screens. I reached to make the flash full screen with no margin but with no scale means that it will be fixed at certain dimensions i choose it inside the swf dimensions. I want to know how to make my content full screen and scalled at any screen dimensions. How to make this without the quality is affected and if there is a certain dimensions that the flash must be of.
how I could re-size my stage?As well as, I would like to know how I could pan my moving animation horizontally/vertically? And is it possible to make an image fade to the next scene without a whiteout or blackout? How can I do this?
I'm making a preloader and I want to make a bitmap fade in with the percentage loaded as "reference". More precise I want the ALPHA-value of the bitmap to be the same as the percentage loaded shown by the preloader.
how to make text acting as a preloader so that its color changes as preloader percentage. i dont mean how to apply the math, i mean how to mask it or whatever action to achieve that effect?
like for example imagine the red is constantly growing to the right letter by letter (actually pixel by pixel:

I'm working on a project where I need to make a Flex application that fills the entire browser window (note that I mean that the toolbars should be visible and all that even if I say fullscreen).To develop the SWF I'm using FlashDevelop (for the first time) and I'm stuck. When I build the project it displays no error and a file website.swf is generated.When I browse to this file with Firefox, it displays what I want and in fullscreen. However when I go to the generated index.html I get a white horizontal bar at the top of my screen (again the browser window).I've looked around a bit on the internet and found several people suggesting that the CSS should include stuff like:
<style type="text/css"> html, body { margin:0; height:100%; overflow:hidden; } body { margin:0; height:100%; width:100%;}
I would like to make videos like [URL]. They are pretty amazing for how simple they are...They accurately show what the company or service does. Is it possible to make a link with a .swf flash file, using swfObject? I would like the entire video to be a clickable link... I'm out of ideas on how to make it happen., on the left thumbnails, do you see how they got a swf object to be a link?Anyone know the principle behind this? How would I do it? It seems like however I lay a div over the flash, my browser will not respond to the click.dit: I cannot make a link directly in the flash file, because 1. I dont have the project file 2. I need to echo PHP code in the link
