fancyupload - looks buggy.
phpfileuploader - looks heavyweight, and looks commercial (?) I cannot read the licence (you can download it but are you allowed to use it forever without paying?) plupload New version of pure javascript (no flash) Valums' ajax upload claims to handle file size limit and progress bar, which is quite suspicious to me: these features require to guess the file size before the upload, which seems impossible in javascript (look also here). Or can it work?

May 28, 2010I'm trying to track the progress of a file upload in AS3, and I'm getting strange behavior. When I select a file and upload it, the progress is instantaneously 100% even if the file is 10 or more megabytes, but it's not finished. The onComplete event is fired about 30 second to a few minutes later (depending on file size) when the file has really finished uploading. I've tested this locally and on the server, the behaviour is the same. Has anyone else experienced this? Very frustrating ...
Otherwise, the file is uploading fine. The code is simple:

May 29, 2011I am trying to upload image files to my server using AS3 and PHP, and at the moment I am succeeding in uploading multiple files and restricting it to images only, but since I am finding it difficult to figure out how to have a loader bar show when the files are being uploaded, as well as executing a function once all files have been uploaded to go to a specified frame.

Apr 1, 2012I have a project portal for software development. To show my team, how far we are in development, i created a graphic showing a progress bar, and a percentage number.
Every now an then, i open flash, and change the percentage number, and scales the progress bar a bit.
My question here is:
Can i make the Percentage number change from (currently) 22% to 100% (22, 23, 24 etc), over the duration of 30 days? So it automatically changes 2-3 times a day?
Can i also make a progress bar that scales automatically, and slowly becomes longer and longer, to match the Percentage number?

Jun 9, 2010Is there a surestarter preloader in AS3 with CS4? Meaning here, showing a progress bar or percentage value before loading the main swf, right away at the start of the loading.I tried 3 different versions:
1- I used the code from a video (and accompanying files), and simply changed the content.swf to my own swf file (rename my swf content.swf), so that the original code would load my swf instead of the original content.swf. (original content.swf was too small to see anything before loading, because my loading speed is too fast).Here is the code from the original preloader (loads a small swf which then loads the main swf file):

Professional :: Export Progress Bar Shows, But No SWF Appears?
Sep 21, 2011I'm using windows Vista 64 bit (work machine, not personal) with Adobe CS5 production premium. I have this training I created in flash and it used to export just fine.I was able to test and everything, but lately, it stopped doing that. I hit CTRL+enter, and it won't give me a SWF file. I hit debug it says it can't find the swf. I looked in the folder where everything is for the training, and sure enough, there is no SWF file there. I tried hitting CTRL + enter and watching the folder. The SWF file appears while the export progress bar is going, but the second the bar is done, the file vanishes. For a while, if I went into File and hit Export Movie, it worked, but even that's stopped working.

Is it trying to show the progress for each individual files rather than all the files at a whole? I'm not thinking its the latter, because you'll notice its set to put a green check next to a file when a file is done. However the jumpyness of the progress bar and when the checks appear aren't syncing.

Sep 20, 2009I have a Flex3 application which has to be capable of uploading multiple files and monitoring each files individual progress using a label NOT a progress bar.
My problem is that a generic progress handler for the uploads has no way (that I know of) of indicating WHICH upload it is that is progressing. I know that a file name is available to check but in the case of this app the file name might be the same for multiple uploads.
My question: With a generic progress handler how does one differentiate between 2 multiple uploads with the same file name?

The datagrid holds the name of the file and the progressbar for each file when we select and add a file. When there is progress in file upload, it should be reflected in the progressbar as well. Apr 5, 2010I'm deploying a small application with Adobe Air. My application will do batch upload from filepath which stored in a text file. For example, in a text file name "list.txt", there is a string "C:myfilesIMG_0001.JPG". Now I want to upload this image file, keep tracking of upload progress :-< I want to use FileReference to get the upload progress, but I don't know how to import from file's path. I also wonder how to use FileReference to upload this file without prompting a dialog for user to select file.

The preloader says "77% loaded...", where the number 77 is a dynamic text instance called percentLoaded. I'd like the textColor of percentLoaded to change on a gradient from #000000 to #FFFFFF, in gray-scale.Therefore, I can't simply do:percentLoaded.textColor=(currentValue/100)*0xFFFFFF;This just converts the textColor to a multiple of FFFFFF, but outputs a color since it's not three separate components. The gist is that you can do this by hiding or closing the original nativeWindow and creating a new one with theUTILITY or LIGHTWEIGHT property.
Unfortunately, when an application is launched more than once, the new nativeWindow is created again with each launch. This is highly undesirable.
I've tried setting variables with the launch of the application, but it seems like these are not accessible by the new instances of the application. The weird thing is: AIR apps are not supposed to have multiple intances (should be impossible)! And there actually is only one instance according to the windows task manager and the fact that there is only one systemtray icon.

Mar 22, 2011I am trying to add to my site a feature that allows users to select a set of images in Flash (AS3) click a button and have my server create a zip file of all the images for them to download.
I have already wrote my code in flash and crated my php script and tested it on my localhost and everything works great. But when I upload the same files to my sever no zip files are created. Below is the code for both my flash and for my php.

Flash :: Preloader - Show The Download Progress Of A File?
Jun 1, 2010I know how to setup a preloader and I have that working. But when I debug the flash application and simulate a download, it has a blank background until a few seconds have passed. I know it is "downloading" the swf file and I'm wondering if I can show a progress bar for that, or do I need to have the swf file as small as possible and pre load everything needed and have all assets as a separate file I fetch? I found something with ProgressEvent.PROGRESS but this only loads after the flash file is finished downloading.

Apr 1, 2010I want to make a MC called bgFade cover a percentage of the flash movie. So the MC starts at the bottom and covers 80% of the vertical space of the Flash movie. So theres 20% at the top that isn't covered. At the moment i have:

Apr 22, 2011I want to make the HTML dimensions a percentage (so it scales with the web browser) but the problem is when i do that, aspects of my animations which i dont want visible (that start outside of the sage) become visible on the page. And if i set the size in pixels or to fit the movie, the things i dont want visible are not visible, but the artefact doesn't scale with the web browser.
