ActionScript 3.0 :: Upload Progress With NetConnection.call For Bytearray?

Dec 23, 2011

I'm recording mic audio into a byte array as a WAV file and uploading it with NetConnection.call(amf.service,responder,bytearray ); It works fine but the files are very large and take a long time to upload. Is there any way to get the upload progress? I can't find anything in AS3 docs or on the web.

I'm using the following to extract the sound data from a sound object and store this in a byte array.

I require that the entire mp3 be loaded into the bytearray before advancing and the below works fine for this purpose however flash temporarily hangs while it extracts this data (2.4mb mp3)

Is there a way i can stop it from hanging i.e. use an eventlistener to check the progress of the extract process?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Using FileReference's Upload To Call A PHP Script From One Folder & Upload Elsewhere?

Sep 9, 2009

Okay, so I am calling my scripts from the folder "php/" Thus, my FileReference calls "php/upload.php" to upload. However, my uploads are in "uploads/" and not in "php/uploads". When the PHP script is called, it apparently ignores the caller (the SWF file) and looks for uploads in its own directory (the "php/" folder). It may be a PHP question, but how do I reference the uploads folder as being in the parent directory of the php files in my PHP script?

JavaScript :: Upload ByteArray Image On Facebook With SDK

I'm trying to upload a photo on Facebook using Javascript SDK. In particular I generate a base64 encoded bytearray from my Actionscript3 app, I pass it to Javascript file using ExternalInterface, and from that I decode the bytearray and I try to upload to FB. But it give me this error:

I tried to upload an image simply from url, and in that way it goes well! This is my Javascript code:

var img = F.decode_base64(photo);

ActionScript 3.0 :: Upload ByteArray As Image To Server?

Mar 7, 2012

I'm trying to snap a bitmap image from within my application, and upload the bytes directly to my server to save as an image. I'm trying to same three separate images, three different sizes. I am able to do it twice, but as soon as it tries to save the third image, it throws a 2176 error...

ActionScript Code:
var url:String = 'myUploadURL';
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
request.contentType = 'multipart/form-data';

[Code]....

I've tried a 3rd party class which wraps the byteArray and sends the data. This too works the first two but not the third.

Is it because I start by calling a function on mouseClick, that snaps the first bitmap then uploads, then snaps the second and uploads, then snaps the third and by the time it tries to upload, Flash assumes the function is 'too far away' from the mouseClick, and doesn't think it comes from user interactivity?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Jumpy Progress Bar During Upload

Oct 17, 2007

Here's a screencast of my uploader in progress - [URL] You'll notice that the progress bar jumps all over the place during upload. Is it trying to show the progress for each individual files rather than all the files at a whole? I'm not thinking its the latter, because you'll notice its set to put a green check next to a file when a file is done. However the jumpyness of the progress bar and when the checks appear aren't syncing.

Flash - Pass ...rest To A NetConnection Call?

Jun 8, 2010

I want to pass a rest in a netconnection call, something like this:

public function requestData(service : String, ...params) : void
{
nc.call(service, params);
}

this doesn't work since the call is expecting each parameter to be separated by commas, like:

nc.call(service, params[0], params[1], params[2]);

I've read some posts about apply, but I can't find a solution for this specific case.

Flex :: Multiple Upload Progress Monitoring?

Sep 20, 2009

I have a Flex3 application which has to be capable of uploading multiple files and monitoring each files individual progress using a label NOT a progress bar.

My problem is that a generic progress handler for the uploads has no way (that I know of) of indicating WHICH upload it is that is progressing. I know that a file name is available to check but in the case of this app the file name might be the same for multiple uploads.

My question: With a generic progress handler how does one differentiate between 2 multiple uploads with the same file name?

Actionscript 3 :: Flash - Monitoring File Upload Progress?

May 28, 2010

I'm trying to track the progress of a file upload in AS3, and I'm getting strange behavior. When I select a file and upload it, the progress is instantaneously 100% even if the file is 10 or more megabytes, but it's not finished. The onComplete event is fired about 30 second to a few minutes later (depending on file size) when the file has really finished uploading. I've tested this locally and on the server, the behaviour is the same. Has anyone else experienced this? Very frustrating ...

Otherwise, the file is uploading fine. The code is simple:

myFileReference.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, onUploadProgress);
function onUploadProgress(e:ProgressEvent) {
var pctDone:Number = (e.bytesLoaded / e.bytesTotal) * 100;
trace(pctDone);
}

How do I track the upload progress? I am unable to create a FileReference for the newly compressed ZIP ByteArray.

Flex :: Set TCP_NODELAY To Socket.flush(), NetConnection.call() Or SendToURL()?

Jun 25, 2009

I'm writing a real-time app using a Flex/Flash client and my own server running on Linux.

I'd like to be able to send data from the Flex client in real time (in response to user actions). I've tried the following methods:

flash.net.NetConnection.call()
flash.net.sendToURL()
flash.net.Socket.write() followed by flash.net.Socket.flush()

[Code].....

The second nc.call() above won't send data to the server until the ACK for the first call has been recieved. I'd like to be able to send data immediately without waiting for that ACK.

If the round-trip time to the server is long (e.g. 300ms) I can only send data to the server 3 times a second. Ideally I'd like to be able to send data up to 30 times per second, but this is only possible with a RTT of around 30ms at the moment.

It doesn't matter if the server itself gets the data 300ms late - I realise I can't beat the speed of light.

Is there any way to get the Flash Player to send data without waiting for an ACK? In other environments this is done by setting the TCP_NODELAY flag on the socket but it seems I don't have that level of control in Flash/Flex.

Update: I think I may have stumbled on a workaround for this. I think the Flash Player tries to get the host browser to give it a separate TCP connection for each NetConnection object, subject to the connection limit for each browser, e.g. 2 for IE. The connection limit can be got around by using sub-domains (haven't tried this yet) so hopefully it should be possible to get closer to real-time behaviour by using a pool of NetConnections.

Actionscript 3 :: Flash - PHP Multiple File Upload With Progress Indicator

May 29, 2011

I am trying to upload image files to my server using AS3 and PHP, and at the moment I am succeeding in uploading multiple files and restricting it to images only, but since I am finding it difficult to figure out how to have a loader bar show when the files are being uploaded, as well as executing a function once all files have been uploaded to go to a specified frame.

Here is my code thus far,

AS3:

import flash.net.FileReferenceList;
import flash.events.Event;
import flash.net.URLRequest;

[Code]....

1: how can I display a percentage or a uploading bar indicating the progress of the files being uploaded?

2: How can I launch a callback function after ALL files have been uploaded successfully?

3: How can I make the file browser appear on click, and not upon loading the flash file?
