Each page is flash expect for the Content page.Now each page also has its own url without loading a new swf file. How is this done?Also how does the swf know what url its on to highlight the correct menu button?
I was wondering if its still necessary to build a html site aswell as a Flash Site? Or is there a definitive and failsafe way to incorporate html into my flash site? SEO is a very important factor for me. I read this article: url...by Geoff Sterns in 2006, resulting in the following[code]
I'm trying to build a personal flash site. Just wondering what is the common practice to judge what dimension the swf should be. Because right now, my swf is of a fixed size or is there ways to have a fluid dimension that goes according to the user's resolution.
I need to build a site in flash that have a confeti effect, and found this site and as you can see they show the code to use this cool effect, they use a class. My question is where do i put this class??
I am fairly new to Flash / Actionscript Basically I am trying to re-build this simple HTML form in Flash, I have not shown the actual URL here, but this is a functioning form when the correct URL is in place[url]...
I am going to build my first ever flash website. how to design cool and stylish websites? Like the flash websites we see at [URL], I don't want to order from web designers there because it's way too much money to buy unique websites, so I was wondering if you guys know any tutorials (other than google) where I can learn how to build these cool and stylish websites? Mainly I want to learn how to build animations such as when the mouse hovers, an animation begins. I already know how to code in ActionScript with Adobe Flash CS5 and Dreamweaver CS5, so I'm not those newbies trying learn new code, I just want to learn how to design Flash Websites with those cool and stylish animation features.
My website will be basically selling services; will my SEO ranking still be affected if I embed the Flash site in a blank html page? I am at that critical point where I am ready to upload the site but I am just having second thoughts about the ease of doing business with Flash.
I am trying to build an ordered list in Flash using html text but Flash doesn't recognize my <ol> </ol> and <li> </li> tags, my <br> tags work though...
This is my test code (the text is inside Flash at the moment):
Code: //Text Format var textFormat:TextFormat = new TextFormat(); txt.paddingTop = 2;
I am looking for a tutorial on how to build a product color changer for my e commerce site. I am selling different colors of tee shirts and would like to build a slideshow where when you hover over the color block the shirt changes to that color so the customer can see what the shirt will look like at that particular color.
I have just recently finished work on a A level project, which was to build a site for a night club. I decided to design and program it all in flash, then embedded the .swf files in html and URLRequesting them in the .swf files to link between them. But this is beside the point...
All my content is in text files and I load this into Dynamic Text Boxes and because some of the text is excessively long I decided to use a UI Scrollbar. I then encountered a most massive annoying error.
If I run the .swf on its own the scrollbar functions correctly showing the tab and also works with the scroll wheel. If I drag and drop the .swf into a browser and use it in there the scroll wheel functionality works but the tab disappears.
Lastly if I embedded the .swf file in a .html file then load the .html in a browser I get neither the scrollwheel functionality or the tab.[URL]..
I am trying to build a portfolio site with a 3D rotating effect.I am new to Papervision so I might be doing something stupid with my code. Anyway, this is my code, but nothing shows up on stage when I load it:
1) I am trying to burn a hybrid CD (MAC/PC) that will autorun and have workable shared objects on each platform from a projector file. I chose projectors because the browser version will not let my links work from the cd. It sends them to the ADOBE site with a security message where the CD path can NOT be set as a vaild path to allow users to use links. I would consider the Browser versions if I knew a workaround to this problem.
2) The projectors will not run the: fscommand("allowscale","false"); set on the maintimeline - so that presents a world of problems for me as many (hundreds) of screens were created with animations starting off screen. Someone said the Adobe players 9 and 10 have messed this up... anyone know the answer here. I can not ask the thousands of potential users to remove there version 9 and go get version 8 and reinstall it.
i'm trying to make a quick and easy personal flash website in a short period of time, and i've decided to use 'pictobrowser' [URL] software to create a slideshow gallery easily (my flash knowledge isn't great and my time is limited!). basically it pulls photo info from my flickr sets and creates a slideshow- but all it gives me is some html coding and i'm not sure how to incorporate this into the flash file so it loads every time the page loads.
I have a site that embeds 3 flash movies in an HTML page. The site works in all browsers on Mac and PC except IE 7, IE8, and IE9. (I'm not worried about IE6).
if there was a way to provide an option to view a flash site in html.
The site is currently built in flash, but have had feedback from people trying to view the site that they need flash player 10, is there any way to have a link option on the page that asks you to download the latest flash player, to view the site in html (html site has also been developed).
I've heard there is a package of software that allows you to create virtual URL's for a flash website.for example: mysite.com/contact -> maps to code in AS3 that chooses the contact page in the site.I think it also works 2-ways so that when the contact info is shown in the flash site, the URL in the browser's address bar also changes.
I have created a flash sit in flash pro. On one of my pages i have a bunch of thumbnails that i want to be able to scroll through and click on and have it open another browser window to an html page I have created.I have placed all the button individually in a motion clip, so I can fade them onto the page when I go to it, and I then have selected all the buttons and changed them to motion clips so I can scroll them.
I created an action file and placed it in its own layer in the first motion clip that all the buttons are on.I am getting access of undefined property errors on all the buttons when I debug.Below is what I have written, I hope someone can tell me what I am doing wrong. I am new to this.
// Includes and Imports. import flash.net.navigateToURL; import flash.net.URLRequest;
I'm trying to enclose an html site with a flash header and footer, the only way I know to do this is with an iframe. The issue I'm experiencing is a MASSIVE amount of excess space. look at [URL] to see what I'm talking about? This mega space was there before I put the iframe in however....how do I get that bottom menu to appear without having to scroll down to see it, whether there's an iframe there or not? Meaning, MUCH closer to the top of the screen. Here's my code so far:
In TFS 2010 build, I have a new build and I want to call an ant script that builds Flash. How do I call the ant script? Also How can I compile the Flash directly? I've seen the Power Tools and this question but it doesn't help me as we don't have TFS 2008. I can't find any documentation on how to use the power tools except the 1 sentence on the bottom of download page saying to create your build the old way and import it (which isn't very helpful). I've installed the power tools on the agent computer but I don't see any new options in the Toolbox when I'm designing the build flow.
What I want to happen is that when a tile is released on another it snaps to that tile and they become one tile so when moving around you actually move them both. When you release the 2 tile 'hybrid' onto another tile it becomes three tiles together and so on.
Is it possible to make desktop Air application by using HTML/JavaScript and Flash?Actually I want to make an Air app (which is for desktop) by using flash and want to use HTML , javascript and CSS as well.Is it possible ?
i build a carousel gallery and put it into my HTML page in a hybrid site but the problem is that it starts spinning as soon as the HTML page is loaded because it works with cursor distance from the center of the stage. Is there a way of deactivating it and ONLY onRollOver is it activated and when i roll off it is deactivated again. my second problem is that I've made a flash navigation for the same HTML site. This is the code I've used for the button states:
I have an HTML page with buttons. Each button needs to have a getURL to open the Flash site, but then somehow, needs to also load the appropriate swf into that Flash site... My reasoning is because I have some scripts under my site that need to be in HTML (or PHP) for search engines, that way I don't have to do the whole site in HTML.. I hate having a HTML index page, but it's the only solution I could come up with. So, when a visitor selects any of the navigation buttons, I don't want them to have to select that button again, when the Flash site loads. how to do this for Flash 7 / AS 2.0? Or if there are any posts here about it?
I have a full flash site which uses swfobject to embed it 100% height and width. I'm using swffit to force a browser scroll bar for pages with a large amount of content. This is all fine and works perfectly. I also have the content in HTML format, as alternative content and this also works apart from in order to get the flash swfobject to work I need to add the overflow = hidden in the CSS, like:
I am using Flash Builder 4. In the Flex Compiler option, I checked 'Generate HTML wrapper file', and then added some text to the alternateContent variable in the auto generated index.template.html wrapper found in html-template folder. For Run/debug settings I have the src/index.html file set as the file to be launched. In the bin-debug folder, the index.html incorporates the content of the html wrapper, and when I run the app in debug mode it behaves as I would expect. However, when I export a release build, the index.html file doesn't incorporate the content of the html wrapper file, and therefore doesn't do the check for a valid version of Flash Player. Do I have to manually copy the index.html file from bin-debug to bin-release each time I export a release build (this does seem to work)
I'm planning a webapp. I have all the wireframes defined, the interfaces designed in photoshop, data structures etc. It will be built on php and mysql however I've been unable to decide on which technology to use as a GUI. All your insights are welcome.
The problem with going the html way is that the GUI makes use of a special font that is crucial to the visual aspect of the app. So this font is required. For headers and fixed sections I could do sfir or use images but being a webapp, the amount of dynamically generated content makes it imposible to use image replacements. Enter flash. Flash solves the font problem easily, it even adds font antialiasing and animations which makes it look even sexier. Another pro is being able to deploy as an air app to use local storage for users that have troublesome connections. This way when internet access is restored the app can sync with the main servers. BUT... flash is being ignored by major developers, this would mean the app wouldn't be accessible to mobile devices, ipads,search engines, etc and requires the installation of the flash plugin which is not that big a deal but should be considered.
