Is it possible to make desktop Air application by using HTML/JavaScript and Flash?Actually I want to make an Air app (which is for desktop) by using flash and want to use HTML , javascript and CSS as well.Is it possible ?
We're currently building a Flex application using the PureMVC framework with a shell.swf which loads/unloads modules dynamically. We're experiencing issues with memory and we're looking to replace the shell.swf with a JavaScript-based loader.Two questions:What would be a good framework to dynamically load the Flex components and allow the modules to communicate between each other?Would dynamically loading/unloading the modules via JavaScript take care of the typical memory problems associated with Flex/Flash applications?
I need to execute some javascript string code from flash swf file using actionscript 3. I read that it could be done by passing the javascript code to the parent html document , using externalinterface.call function. Then I assume it will be faster if I can declare functions in the javascript code in the HTML document in the first use of externalinterface.call funtion ; if flash code calls the javascript code repeatedly. So let me ask you how to do that. For details , any javascript to be loaded is unknown in design time and I can not prepare a javascript file to be loaded.
How do I embedded a HTML-enabled javascript editor on top of Flex web application? FCKEditor is not free but any free editor with basic toolbar will do?
I was reading about Flex- JavaScript communication via ExternalInterface.But I had a doubt, it said that the javascript code should be written in the HTML file of the application ? Now which is this HTML file ? Is it the index.template.html file per project or the HTML file created per MXML application ?
While publishing my movies in CS4, I noticed that the javascript required to embed the movie in a web page was published as inline javascript in the published page. This means that code would be downloaded for each page my movie is on. Is it possible to configure Flash CS4 to publish that javascript to a separate .js file, instead of having to manually copy-paste that each time??
If no, I believe that js is independent of the Flash movie (please correct me, if I am wrong). So, can I copy-paste that javascript to an external file just once, and use the js file for all my movies being published??
i have created a silverlight application , but i need to embed it to a Flash file(swf) which it runs with Flash Player ( whithout using browser), I had found a solutions to call it using javascript, but it still needs my flash file run inside the browser, dose any one can help me, Either to run js inside swf (without need of browser) or any other way that i can embed my Silverlight application inside Flash.
I want to load a little flash video before my application starts, so people can see my website logo before using my application. btw I make my apps with Javascript, HTML5 and CSS
What i'm trying to do: add an html/javascript page inside an air app made fully in flash (coded in AS3, almost no timeline used). Is it possible, is it wise to do so?
I have html page with an embedded flash. The flash sends me a javascript function with the selected content, namely: currency(eur) or currency(gbp). How can I catch this value with a JS function and send a variable, a string whatever to my html page?Ex: if eur, default, '' otherwise?
Is there way to simulate click on a flash application using Greasemonkey script? I need to test a flash app with lot of permutations and combinations. Traditional approach of using ExternalInterface wont work because it is too cumbersome to add the callback.
Is it possible to pass file names from a running Flash application, which only purpose is to enable multiple-file-selection, to a JavaScript application which handles upload of all files to the server?I have examined various Flash upload solutions (like SWFUpload, Uploadify, etc.) and none of them meets my needs. I want an easy to implement solution (like Uploadify) which also lets me specify various parts of the HTTP request.
The reason I need this is because my upload form uses session cookies (for user authentication) and an CSRF token both passed to the server when uploading files.Is it technically possible to pass filenames (+ paths) to a JavaScript application which then handles the upload?
Here's the challenge: I have a Flash movie which will be embedded in a page using an unknown DOM ID that I want to be able to identify/store for callback in a JS function. My ideal user flow would be: User clicks button in Flash. Flash pauses any animations / video / sounds / etc. Flash calls an injected JS function to display a page-covering overlay experience. When user closes overlay experience, a callback method on the Flash object is called. Flash resumes playback.
The problem is, when AS3 uses the ExternalInterface.call("functionName", args...) method, there doesn't seem to be a DOM event triggered, and thus it is impossible to tell which object called a JS function, so having a "registerMe()" function doesn't seem to work. Basically, the injected JS function has no way to determine which DOM object to call, because the ID of the Flash object is unknown.
I'd like to call a javascript function from an embedded .swf file. Specifically, I'd like to call a function in one of my externally linked javascript files from within: function loadTrack(){
[Code]...
which is in an .as file which I assume somehow becomes the swf file. How would I go about this and 're-compile' the .as file?
I'm trying to write a web application that searches google and then downloads the result sites and parses them.The search has to be done on the client side. Without implementing a server side proxy.Can this be done using javascript/sliverlight/flash?
let suppose i have a object named "data" which has a callBack function named "closeItem" which does something. So i have flash file which has a close button. on click of that i am calling this function which closes this item. So issue is? If i pass this "closeItemFunction" as global function this works fine. but if a pass this function as a "data.closeItem" this doesn;t work throwing some falsh error. so i just wanna ask that "does flash only call gobal scoped javascript function" ??
How does something like this work without Flash? http:[url]....I right-clicked on it but there's no Flash menu.I love Flash because its stable and works. But is using some sort of Javascript hack for this kind of complex behavior actually a good idea?
I am having in issue with IE passing a string back into an swf using the EternalInterface class in Flash CS4.I have an swf with the following code: var externalString:String = ExternalInterface.call("IncomingJS")which is inside an event listener attached to an Event.ENTERFRAME and an if statement waiting for ExternalInterface.available. [code]I am able to successfully get the externalString variable and procceed with the rest of the AS3 script in Firefox, Safari and Chrome, but not in IE.If I add in an alert (stringFromHTML) before the return statement in the Javascript, I get the value of the stringFromHTML spammed, which looks like Flash is firing the function at the right rate[code]Unfortunately, the HTML code is actually working within a 3rd party HTML generator, and one of it's limitations is that I can only have a single line (with unlimited length) of html at a time.Are the other options (swfObject etc) able to run either with no line breaks in the code, or would I be asking for trouble with Javascript and the SWF to, instead of embedding the SWF directly, use something like an iFrame and refer to a 'proper' flash delpoyment html file?
What languages/techniques are used for letting the web browser interact with the desktop, e.g. dragging files to the web browser, dragging files from web browser to desktop, and maybe more features that I'm not aware of.
I've a simple flash application that does counting on button click. I load it in a page and a javaScript code does some DOM manipulation to move it from one div tag to another. Problem: the state of the count is not preserved as the swf node is moved from one node to another. What I did:
I simply get the node using javascript getElementbyId function and then once I get the source and destination div nodes then I use destinationNode.appendChild(sourceNode); //javascript This works well in Internet explorer, but it doesn't work in Chrome and Firefox. So then I tried prototype library.
I am trying to create a multiple file upload flash application to be called from an External Interface, but it isn't working.
AS3:
var fileRef:FileReferenceList; ExternalInterface.addCallback('selectFiles', showDialog); function showDialog()
[Code].....
When I run the script and comment out the fileRef parts and uncomment the alert call, it shows the alert, also when I comment out the ExternalInterface call, leaving only the fileRef parts, it shows the file upload dialog.
When I run it as intended, I get the following error:
I'm working on a cartoon series in the uk and we use flash, 3d and after effects. I'm building a little pipeline tool to help us compositors do your job (there's hundreds if not thousands of files to be comped for a great number of shows)anyhow, we use flash for the 2d animation and we need to extract pngs. Right now it's a process I can't streamline (ie compers still have to have flash opened to choose which layers to export manually) but I'd like to be able to open flash and launch a specific javascript file ('command')
Im trying to change the size of this video object from 416x374 to 640x500.[code]I tried adding these parameters and none worked: scale="aspect", scale="exactfit", scale="default".From what I understand, this swf is being scaled inside flash using "StageScaleMode".Is there any way to override this and change the embed size?
With all the recent hype about JavaScript and HTML5 replacing Flash, I wanted to know - How would it be possible to protect client-side js code? Of course, it is possible to obfuscate it, but that would only make it a little harder. Also, for games which submit high scores to the server, wouldn't it be incredibly easy to modify those scores before they are sent to the server? I know even Flash files can be decompiled, but they can be obfuscated and flash decompilation is not as easy as modifying data in JS - could be done easily using a plugin such as Firebug. I'd like to know everyone's views on this.
I have a flash file that contains a package "game" which has a class "Scores" and a method setValue(). I want to write some lines of Javascript that allow me to call that method. Someone directed me to this tutorial, but I am still a bit confused.
Javascript: alert("start"); var so; so = document.embeds[0]; so.addParam("allowScriptAccess","always"); import flash.external.ExternalInterface; ExternalInterface.call("setValue[2600]");
displays an alert to tell me that it has indeed began to execute saves the embedded flash file into a variable and sets access imports that class calls the method.I am not sure about how this class thing works? This is just the bits and pieces I was able to come up with from that site, but I don't really understand how it all works (but certainly hope to eventually).This is the site: http:[url]...how-do-i-access-flash-function-using-javascript.When I execute the code with the importation nothing happens, but the alert does come up when I don't have that statement?
I'm searching for free partial panorama viewer. It should be placed in somewhere in the page and it should be customizable (openSource?). So far i found pan0.net but it only supports 360 and i have priority for non 360...
