I am going to build my first ever flash website. how to design cool and stylish websites? Like the flash websites we see at [URL], I don't want to order from web designers there because it's way too much money to buy unique websites, so I was wondering if you guys know any tutorials (other than google) where I can learn how to build these cool and stylish websites? Mainly I want to learn how to build animations such as when the mouse hovers, an animation begins. I already know how to code in ActionScript with Adobe Flash CS5 and Dreamweaver CS5, so I'm not those newbies trying learn new code, I just want to learn how to design Flash Websites with those cool and stylish animation features.

My website will be basically selling services; will my SEO ranking still be affected if I embed the Flash site in a blank html page? I am at that critical point where I am ready to upload the site but I am just having second thoughts about the ease of doing business with Flash.

I am trying to input a form that I have the html coding into Adobe Flash CS4 and don't really know how to go about doing this. Could anyone briefly explain how to do this or link me to a guide on this. I have looked for a bit, but have not found anything. Would I need to use another Adobe CS4 Program. I have the entire website done in flash and would like to keep it in that instead of bringing it over to dreamweaver and losing all the flash animation.

I'm looking to convert the new/used car search box on this page:nto Flash.I was thinking of using an XML form, and I still think that would work, but I'm having some (probably elementary) trouble figuring out how to get the comboboxes and radiobuttons to link together. I originally thought I could just transplant the form into Flash, but I quickly realized that I had no idea how to actually do that.

I am converting an html form to a flash form. I am not so good with AS3 and it's the first time I have to create forms so it was quite difficult for me. I am almost done, I did the text fields and the comboboxes, so everything except the checkboxes works.
Here's the html code for the 5 checkboxes;
...<input type="checkbox" name="txtMessage" value="Find Your Pace">...
...<input type="checkbox" name="txtMessage" value="Stress Escape">...
...<input type="checkbox" name="txtMessage" value="Time Revolution">...
...<input type="checkbox" name="txtMessage" value="Ultimate Connections">...
...<input type="checkbox" name="txtMessage" value="Contact Me About Life Coaching">...
Here's an example of how my flash form works;
var variables:URLVariables = new URLVariables();
var varSend:URLRequest = new URLRequest("website");
var varLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader;
varSend.method = URLRequestMethod.POST;
varSend.data = variables;
[Code] .....

I have a Flash webpage where I visually designed a Form. I have not been able to find how to give My form the generic capabilities of an HTML/CGI Submit-able Form. For clarity, I included (below) my Form code for my HTML Webpage. got to make an html form with a submit button, but, istead of using ordinary html inputs, i integrated a flash swf inside the form, so, when we click on the html submit button, the navigator goes inside the flash swf and gets some vars, then submits the html form (of corse, with vars from swf)! how to send vars to swf as senocular described.

I have an HTML form that I want to upload to MySQL with PHP. That part's easy, but the thing is I want the submit button to be a Flash object. Somehow I need the Flash button to submit the form, but I think I can figure that out. The tricky part is that I need it to set another PHP variable before submitting the form. The variable will be determined by a bunch of stuff, but I can code that in actionscript later. I just need to figure out how to pass the variable back to the webpage. A $_POST variable would probably be fine.
edit: What if the flash object returned some javascript and set a variable that way? making it submit the form as well while still catching a variable?

In TFS 2010 build, I have a new build and I want to call an ant script that builds Flash. How do I call the ant script? Also How can I compile the Flash directly? I've seen the Power Tools and this question but it doesn't help me as we don't have TFS 2008. I can't find any documentation on how to use the power tools except the 1 sentence on the bottom of download page saying to create your build the old way and import it (which isn't very helpful). I've installed the power tools on the agent computer but I don't see any new options in the Toolbox when I'm designing the build flow.

I am using Flash Builder 4. In the Flex Compiler option, I checked 'Generate HTML wrapper file', and then added some text to the alternateContent variable in the auto generated index.template.html wrapper found in html-template folder. For Run/debug settings I have the src/index.html file set as the file to be launched. In the bin-debug folder, the index.html incorporates the content of the html wrapper, and when I run the app in debug mode it behaves as I would expect. However, when I export a release build, the index.html file doesn't incorporate the content of the html wrapper file, and therefore doesn't do the check for a valid version of Flash Player. Do I have to manually copy the index.html file from bin-debug to bin-release each time I export a release build (this does seem to work)

I'm planning a webapp. I have all the wireframes defined, the interfaces designed in photoshop, data structures etc. It will be built on php and mysql however I've been unable to decide on which technology to use as a GUI. All your insights are welcome.
The problem with going the html way is that the GUI makes use of a special font that is crucial to the visual aspect of the app. So this font is required. For headers and fixed sections I could do sfir or use images but being a webapp, the amount of dynamically generated content makes it imposible to use image replacements. Enter flash. Flash solves the font problem easily, it even adds font antialiasing and animations which makes it look even sexier. Another pro is being able to deploy as an air app to use local storage for users that have troublesome connections. This way when internet access is restored the app can sync with the main servers. BUT... flash is being ignored by major developers, this would mean the app wouldn't be accessible to mobile devices, ipads,search engines, etc and requires the installation of the flash plugin which is not that big a deal but should be considered.

I placed my AMFPHP folder inside my htmltemplate project folder, but now everytime i build it wants to 'refresh' the folder which takes forever. Is there a way to set it so that folder does not refresh each time? I put the AMFPHP folder in there so I can have a unique copy for my debug builds and leave the production build one alone.

I have built a simple Flash application that will be presented using a projector, the application will show messages in the form of questions that will come from a simple flat-file text file or XML file.
In addition to this I would also like to be able to add my own messages using a simple HTML form.
I've been looking around the web for some resources, but have been struggling to find what I am looking for. The basic idea is that the flash application will loop through these different messages from the XML, but then when a user types in a message that will also appear within these messages. Think of it as a sort of dynamic tag cloud.

Given an .swf that has some clickable objects/regions. One of these controls is labeled with the word 'pants'. When I click on 'pants' I want an HTML FORM named 'pantsForm' to be submitted. By doing it this way I can send all my hidden variables and HTML objects on to the next page in the POST array.My thought is that I should be able to write a piece of javascript like this:
function pageAction (inVar) {
switch(inVar) {
case 'pants':
[code]....
And then from within the actionscript the following call:
ExternalInterface.call("pageAction", "pants"));
could _somehow_ be linked to the onClick action for the 'pants' object in the FLASH movie.
