I am trying to build an ordered list in Flash using html text but Flash doesn't recognize my <ol> </ol> and <li> </li> tags, my <br> tags work though...

I have 2 groups of external SWF's From my main SWF Actionscript, I want to randomly play one SWF in Group A and continue cycling through Group A (in order) until it is finished.Then I want to randomly play one SWF from Group B and continue cycling through that list (in order) until the list is cycled through. Then repeat group A (random start, but staying in order), etc.
My current ActionScript works for Group A to randomly select and play in order, I need it to stop after it gets to the random starting point (so it doesn't repeat) and start up Group B (which isn't in there yet)

In TFS 2010 build, I have a new build and I want to call an ant script that builds Flash. How do I call the ant script? Also How can I compile the Flash directly? I've seen the Power Tools and this question but it doesn't help me as we don't have TFS 2008. I can't find any documentation on how to use the power tools except the 1 sentence on the bottom of download page saying to create your build the old way and import it (which isn't very helpful). I've installed the power tools on the agent computer but I don't see any new options in the Toolbox when I'm designing the build flow.

I am using Flash Builder 4. In the Flex Compiler option, I checked 'Generate HTML wrapper file', and then added some text to the alternateContent variable in the auto generated index.template.html wrapper found in html-template folder. For Run/debug settings I have the src/index.html file set as the file to be launched. In the bin-debug folder, the index.html incorporates the content of the html wrapper, and when I run the app in debug mode it behaves as I would expect. However, when I export a release build, the index.html file doesn't incorporate the content of the html wrapper file, and therefore doesn't do the check for a valid version of Flash Player. Do I have to manually copy the index.html file from bin-debug to bin-release each time I export a release build (this does seem to work)

View 1 RepliesI'm planning a webapp. I have all the wireframes defined, the interfaces designed in photoshop, data structures etc. It will be built on php and mysql however I've been unable to decide on which technology to use as a GUI. All your insights are welcome.
The problem with going the html way is that the GUI makes use of a special font that is crucial to the visual aspect of the app. So this font is required. For headers and fixed sections I could do sfir or use images but being a webapp, the amount of dynamically generated content makes it imposible to use image replacements. Enter flash. Flash solves the font problem easily, it even adds font antialiasing and animations which makes it look even sexier. Another pro is being able to deploy as an air app to use local storage for users that have troublesome connections. This way when internet access is restored the app can sync with the main servers. BUT... flash is being ignored by major developers, this would mean the app wouldn't be accessible to mobile devices, ipads,search engines, etc and requires the installation of the flash plugin which is not that big a deal but should be considered.

I'm trying to build a flash keypad that fills in input text boxes when you press a button.I have two input text fields. I can assign each button a number and tell it to display that number in the text field when pressed. for example:

I was trying to send 4 paragraphs to a .swf element. I have no idea how to what to do. Is there a way to set it so that folder does not refresh each time? I put the AMFPHP folder in there so I can have a unique copy for my debug builds and leave the production build one alone.

Ie) In a swfloader example, I setup a timer(1 sec) to run a function, in the function I setup a listener to event INIT of the loaded swf. It depends on the network condition that whether the timer handler or the INIT event will be first executed. Imagine a case that the INIT event fired first but the handler to handle the INIT event be setup later, will the handler be invoked?
Another question, if the loaded swf fired several events very fast, will the events be kept ordered as the fire sequence?

I've a container in a scrollpane with some vertically ordered movieclips in it (one on top of the other). I have another container of movieclips that I can drag into container 1. Once the new movieclip is dragged in, the other clips move to make space for it. Also, the clips in 1 can be dragged to a new position, and the other clips move up or down to accomodate the moved clip.
I did it using a lot of x and y positioning. It works, until I use the scroller. Then the positioning gets all screwy. My thinking now is to use arrays, but I'm wondeirng if it's possible when you're pushing an item into an array, to push it into a certain position in the array? So, push it into position 15 for example? How do you tell Flash to add an item to a certain array position?
I have a Flash Web site for a small literary journal and am trying to switch over to my hosting service's mailing list manager for sending out newsletters. I see the HTML code for setting this up (available from my host), but do not know how to get it to work in my Flash site. (I did not build the site and know very little about Flash...I'm learning as I go in order to do updates.) It looks like the site currenly links to a PHP file to allow for sign ups to our newsletter. I have a linked movieclip that contains two textfields.One of the textfields needs to have regular and bold text, so I thought I would use htmlText however it's only showing the regular font that I embedded?I made the textfield in Flash and called it "details".I also tried to make another textField in the symbol called, "invisi" and I set it not visible:invisi.visible = false;I embedded the BOLD version of the font in the invisi textfield, hoping this would make the "details" text field show the bold font...but no luck.
View 2 RepliesI just started working with ant a few days ago. Right now I have a general buildall.xml which should call each project's build.xml. Because some projects depend on each other, I need to rebuild some other projects which depend on it. This isn't a problem--I'm just setting the depends property of the target. However, ant is always building the dependencies, even when the files haven't changed.Let's say project1 has no dependencies; project2 depends on project1; project3 depends on project1, 2; project4 depends on project1, 2, and 3; and so on.I could hack a solution which looks at project K, and checks if project 1 .. project K have updated files using uptodate. If so, then run the target. This is messy and appears unnecessary.
What is the cleanest way to implement this?EDIT: So I decided to just hack in a bunch of targets, "check_projectK" where it does the uptodate checks on all of its source files, its build file, and the build files of the 1 .. K-1 projects. Due to dependencies, this is always handled correctly. However, this is still a large amount of copy and paste for a large workspace.
