I have a piece of Flash on an HTML page that when you hover over it, it expands out to reveal more information.There are text links that it expands over, however in everything but IE, when it's not expanded those links are still covered by the Flash making them unclickable.I have the Flash piece in a separate DIV wmode set to transparent.
View 1 RepliesI have audio placed into a controller on a page, however when i load different browsers the sound files are either no even seen by the browser or they dont work. Ive converted the files to wav. which apparently works universally for IE,Opera, Firefox and Chrome, however changing the file format does not change this situation. I know it has something to do with HTML audio tag or something but I am still unsure

I have some HTML and Flash content where the Flash, containing complex vector drawings with a transparent background, is layered overtop of the HTML. I use Flashes wmode=transparent setting to allow the HTML content underneath to be seen through Flash.

View 0 RepliesI have run into a problem with the URLLoader that I havent encountered before. I have reviewed my code several times and maybe I am missing something.
Basically, I have a separate loader class that I want to communicate to a php file located in the same directory. That php file forms an xml markup within and returns the location of a background image from the database. As you can see from the code, I have event listeners for progress, loaded, and IOerror.
This works fine in IE and Chrome. However in FF and Opera, my custom progress bar shows 100%, but the info bar shows "IO Error" (which is kind of a visible trace statement on the swf for informational purposes) and it does not go anywhere.

When I test the movie through flash ide the movie connects alright.But when I insert the swf in html and view from firefox, chrome or other browser NetConnection.connect() does not work. Movie sort of hangs at the moment NetConnection.connect is called(). The function assigned to NetStatusEvent is not called and no command after that moment is carried out.It only occurs when viewed through web browser but when it is tested in flash ide it works alright.
View 1 RepliesI'm having a problem with a finished flash piece where, in the most simple scenario, if the user screen size is very small, the background html comes up over the bottom of the flash movie and covers a portion of it. The effect can also be seen if you resize the browser window down fairly small. I want the user the be able to see all the content fine, even if they have to scroll a lot to achieve it. I have my flash set up with:

how can I make it so that my flash html page centers with the browser, when you expand the browser.. I have no problem with the index page, but its when going to my flash html page that I get this uneven amount of white space on the right side. For example, my index page.. when you resize the browser the page also centers itself when you expand.. but when on the flash html page you see the off-centered amount of space.

Is there a way to allow this, or a work around? is there a way for the loaded webpage to send Flex info about events that occur in it?Here is my code:

I am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
a:link {text-decoration: none;}
a:active {text-decoration: none;}
a:visited {text-decoration: none;}[code]....
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.
I've created a popup navigation menu at: [URL] In firefox and internet explorer everything works fine - the menu pops over the flash. But in Chrome, Safari and Opera the menu is behind the flash.

In the following menu: "Галерия -> Проекти" the submenu that pops up is shown under the flash content, despite of me setting the z-index. This only happens in Chrome and IE. Firefox renders it fine. I've looked it up and I've found that chrome adds two attributes to the embed tag, width and height. i have already set the width and height attribute in the embed tag in pixels but from some reason chrome changes it to percentage. when i inspect the element and write pixels instead of percentage the flash is visible again.

Flash is being used to create an animated button, and the anchor tag makes it so you can click on that to go to another page. On most browsers, you can click anywhere on the Flash object and the link works...but in Chrome, the link displays in the status bar when you hover over the flash element, but does nothing when you click it. However, there is a small area (about 19px) below the flash element where the link works.
How can I get this to behave the same way in Chrome as it is in other browsers?

I just downloaded the latest version of google chrome and my html page with flash inside is not appearing in chrome.I am using an authoring tool called outstart trainer. The pages work well in IE and Firefox but does not work in google chrome.

I'm working on a page that has some ads on it. One of them loads in an ad with wmode=window.I don't have the ability to change that flash code. I need to put a modal box on top of that flash element, but every combination of using z-indexes and iframe shims has failed (both manually and using bgiframe). Is there a way to place html content on top of a flash element with wmode=window? I'm testing this in chrome so far.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to add mediaelement.js to my site to present a single player for any MP3 link on a particular page. The design is working fine for IE 9 and Chrome 11 (which have HTML5 MP3 support), but it has an issue with the flash fallback on Opera 11 and FireFox 4. Clicking any MP3 link on the page uses the .setSrc() method of media element player to change the source of the player, but in Opera and FF, the first time this method is called, it returns error "this.media.setSrc is not a function". Any call to the function after that works fine.
Another issue is after the element containing the player is hidden "display:none" and then displayed again, calling the .pause() function will produce error "this.pluginApi.pauseMedia is not a function". After that error is thrown, subsequent calls work fine until the element is hidden and displayed again.

I was trying to send 4 paragraphs to a .swf element. I have no idea how to what to do. I tried using FlashVars but I feel like i need to drop in some actionscript to be able to work with the vars conceptsNdisciplinesPar=(some text)&cultures&countriesPar=(some text) etc... Is there an easy way to get access to this text in my .swf?
View 2 RepliesI have a simple HTML file which embeds a Flash file. On the page styling I have a #flashContent with width:100% and height:100%; the Flash object itself has width="100%" and height=100% and is inside a div with id="flashContent". The idea is to make the Flash object (which is a game) to fill the whole browser window even as it resizes.
This works with no problems on IE and Firefox, but there is a small problem on Chrome. About 90% of the time when the page first loads all that is shown is black (the page's background color). The game only appears if the user resizes the window; from then on out it works correctly.
I'd like to ask if there is anything I am doing wrong or if there is an workaround to ensure the Flash game appears correctly on the Chrome browser.
I am trying to create html links from a external xml file to be dynamically added to a text field (im using flash builder)the process i am having trouble is: -Loading an external swf which contains the textfield loading external xml which contains the cdata with links adding the cdata to the htmltext property of the textfield the link is showing correctly, the mouse turns into a hand... but when i click on the link it doesnt work. i have seen a few forum posts similar to this problem but all are using textfield control in flash builder but im trying to add the cdata into an externally loaded swf which holds the textfield.
