I'm writing HTML text into a dynamically created text field - the text and links appear perfectly, the css styling works and they change colour when you rollover them just as they should.However suddenly they've stopped actually launching the link, I don't get the mouse pointer when I rollover, I just get the select tool and when I click, nothing happens.

I've got a PHP script that searches for links in a block of text and converts them to HTML values. The $message variable is then entered into my database using a simple INSERT. So far, so good. Then I have Flash parse the message using XML:

The problem, however, is that my links don't work. The rollover works from the CSS styling, but the links don't actually go anywhere. When I rollover the links, the hand cursor doesn't appear, and clicking only serves to change the color back to the non-hover value.
I am building a website through flash. For the past couple of weeks all of the links have been working fine up until now. I have no idea what I could have possibly done to make this happen. In HTML none of the links work. They are all linked up fine, I even re-linked some of them. Nothing happens. The buttons do nothing.

I knw though I am calling flash with transparent bg but still the object�s area is same.. n all the links which are there on the HTML page that comes under that area stops working as they no longer remain selectable. I have a piece of Flash on an HTML page that when you hover over it, it expands out to reveal more information.There are text links that it expands over, however in everything but IE, when it's not expanded those links are still covered by the Flash making them unclickable.I have the Flash piece in a separate DIV wmode set to transparent.
View 1 RepliesI have a presentation that I created for a client. The presentation is supposed to work locally on anyone's computer. It works perfect on mine. On the client's three computers, 2 pc and 1 mac the links inside flash do not work. I have a text field with text and a simple link inside like [URL] and it's going to a blank window. These won't even pop up a window for my client on any computer, why? He has the lastest Flash players and we created an html link below the flash movie in the html page just to make sure he could launch a popup that way and the html link below the flash movie worked fine.

I am trying to insert a simple <a href command inside my XML (website is in flash) that is used as "contact (me)" page. So I have a bunch of text in this XML but somewhere in this text I am trying to palce a simple link that upon clicking it it owuld open a new browser window and take me to [URL]. Excuse me, I'm afraid I'll show my ignorance here,I'm trying to update my music site, and am happy with the look I get when I preview in IE from Dreamweaver, but when I upload to my site online, IE chokes up and the flash object never shows up, as on the iphone iOS 4.3 safari browser, and Firefox renders the object, but too far too the left.
Basically, when I have href text of various song names in cells on a table with a background image. When a song name is clicked, I'm attempting to have songs from my soundcloud account show up and play in a cell on the table, using an iframe. This is sort of working locally in IE, but nowhere else (see above). The code I grabbed from soundcloud is a flash object with a number of parameters defined that I am not able to utilize in my current method of just using the src="http:samplefile.com" part of the ofject code, not the other object parameters.
I've also tried creating separate html pages that have the full object code and nothing else, and then having my text in my table cells call these html files to show up in the iframe--that's actually working in IE, and though the location is off, in Firefox, but not on an iphone. I am trying to create html links from a external xml file to be dynamically added to a text field (im using flash builder)the process i am having trouble is: -Loading an external swf which contains the textfield loading external xml which contains the cdata with links adding the cdata to the htmltext property of the textfield the link is showing correctly, the mouse turns into a hand... but when i click on the link it doesnt work. i have seen a few forum posts similar to this problem but all are using textfield control in flash builder but im trying to add the cdata into an externally loaded swf which holds the textfield.

I think this is a relatively easy fix but I have looked around for the answer and have not been able to find it. I am using a dynamic scrollable html text box. I would like to add links. The only problem is that the double forward slashes (//) in http:[url]....makes the following text become a commment.I have a dynamic text box with an instance name of myText and in my AS layer I have:

If I try to add a html link, obviously it doesn't work.The only workaround that I know of uses exteral .txt files.I would prefer to use those since I have not been able to get my scrolling bar with tweening to load properly with external .txt files.
I am a little confused with the ASFUNCTION. I understand how to use it to call a function from within the swf, but how can I embed a link in the external text file? Is this even with ASFUNCTION? When I use an <A HREF etc it doesn't work. I have searched all over the forums and can't find the answer to this really simple question. Also, one other thing. Is there a good character map somewhere for UTF-8 encodings? For example, I can't seem to get Trademark and bullet points to work.

I have an <mx:HTML/> component in my flex air app that shows a web page. The problem is, if the web page has a link on it and they click it, it does not take them to that page. Is there a way to allow this, or a work around? is there a way for the loaded webpage to send Flex info about events that occur in it?Here is my code:

My HTML tags are not working in a dynamic text box. Im guessing it is cause of the scrolling and maybe it dosn't see <br> so it dosn't allow them. This is the code i am using below.

I had to do some maintenance on an older flash site I built (Flash MX, AS2.0). I have some href links in a html text. For some reason they are no longer working correctly. If you click on it, it will do nothing. If you right-click on it, a menu will open with options to Open, Open in new window, & Copy link.

I'm trying to load an XML file and place the content into a dynamic text field. The XML nodes contain content within CDATA sections that have basic <b> and <i> tags. Once I have the content loaded into a variable and trace it, I can see all my tags within.
I then place the content into a dynamic text field with html set to true but for some reason it doesn't show any formatting, the tags appear to have been rendered because they don't show up inline. I thought maybe this was due to embedded fonts but i have all of my bold, bold italic, italic and regular font's within a text field embedded so I wouldn't think thats an issue. Is there something I'm overlooking?
I am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
a:link {text-decoration: none;}
a:active {text-decoration: none;}
a:visited {text-decoration: none;}[code]....
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.
I opened my flash movie in CS4 that was created in CS3, added additional scene, andrepublished but all links failed to work.

But the htmp pages work on my computer but on an other computer the links don't work cos I have linked the html pages to my folder on the computer I'm working on.
