ActionScript 2.0 :: Load A Movie Into An Empty Mc On The Main .swf

_root.loadMovie(_root.gamename, _root.game); ... that is the code im using to load a movie into an empty mc on the main .swf This code is in a movie that is also loaded from an empty mc in my main .swf 'gamename' is defined in the _root movie and 'game' is the instance of the empty mc where I want it to load. However, when the swf loads, it just loads at 0,0 in my main .swf and not where the instance of game is located.

My problem is that I want to load an external swf in an empty movieclip and then manipulate this loaded swf from my main movie. For example tell it to go to a certain frame. Is such a thing possible?
I have a problem with buttons and transitions and it is similar to a problem I had a couple of days ago that I posted and that was sorted out. I have two buttons onstage (they're inside a movie clip) inside the movie, on the button one I have the following

My problem is this, I need to load in external swf files into an empty movie clip on the main stage called container. These External SWF files have transitions and this is where my problem is. If I place a normal button on the stage it works but not if the button is inside a movie clip and has actions applied as above. The code next is what I have believe should also be placed on the button to make swf transition one load in.
Is it possible to load a .swf into an empty mc that is dynamically created, behind a layer on my main flash file?
I want the loaded .swf to load behind the interface buttons on my main flash file? Is that possible or do I need to put the interface buttons on a separate .swf and load that .swf in?

where i want to unload level1 which is a scrollbar with a text and load the portfolio section in an empty container... my structure i want to load in an empty container the swf's of the main navigation (home- portfolio,etc) and the sub-menus of it's categories[about me-print-web design) into levels. is there a simpliest way of doing that?
I want to load six seperate .swf's into the main movie while the main movie loads too. So in simpler words, i want to be able to load all of the swf's the same time i am loading the main swf.
What I'd like to do is have a checkbox, that when it is checked it loads a movie into an empty movie clip, and when it is unchecked, it loads a different movie into the empty movie clip.Also if possible I'd like to find a way to output to a variable whether the same checkbox is checked or not. I am using CS4 and ActionScript 2.0.I am trying to create a photo gallery.I have created 4 different movie clip buttons that reside on the content layer.Each button consists of one image.When the movie clip button is pressed, I want the full size image to appear on the stage next to the buttons.You can see the buttons in the image below.I am trying to create an empty movie clip holder that would reside on the main timeline while the buttons reside on the content layer.I need to get the images to load into the empty movie clip and then unload when the next button is selected?I can't seem to get the buttons to "talk" to the empty movie clip holder.I did manage to create code for an empty movie clip holder within each button, but then I end up with all four images on top of each other.
trouble getting a movie to load in an empty movie clip. I am hoping I'm missing something simple.I have a button with the instance name SPS_btn on a layer I've called buttons.Below the button layer i've got a layer called movie clips that contains an emptymovie clip called mainStage_mc.I want to load a .swf into into mainStage_mc. both the buttons and their actions occur on the first frame.I have used this code but it not working.

I just get a blue area but the movie does not load. I can run the movie fun locally by clicking on new002.swf file.i also tried the behaviors panel, which produces this code but it also doesn't work:

for some reason it will load if i use loadMovieNum () but the registration point is in the top right corner and i don't want that.What's the best way to debug this?When i use test movie the output window dosen't show an error but something's wrong.how can I test if is a path problem? A problem with the loaded movie or a problem with something else? the movie new002.swf is 393KB. I tired making a smaller 2kbmovie using the code above and it wouldn't load either.
load a .swf into an empty movie clip. I've given the empty movie clip an instance name of "myContainer". This is the code i've got now on a button (which doesn't have an instance name), which doesn't work:

I have a main SWF with an empty MC holder and all of the main navigation button on actions. When the buttons are clicked it then loads an external SWF into the empty MC. I am having trouble telling the button to load the movie once and then stop loading if someone clicks on the link again. I want to prevent someone from double clicking to cause the animation to blink. *rapidly click on "home" to see what I mean.
I am in the process of building my new website and am having some loading issues. Here is a bit of info. gallery_stage This is the main movie that I am loading everything into. This movie is places in the center of an html page in the portfolio section of my site. gallery_menu.swf this is the navigation menu that I am loading onto the 'stage'. I've loaded an external .swf into a movieclip in my parent .swf using the loadMovie(); function. The file loads perfectly and in the right position, however I can no longer access the functions of the external .swf. When I load the file into a level rather than a movieclip, the functions (buttons and timeline) of the external .swf work properly. Is there any way to use the functions of the external .swf when I load it into an empty movie clip?
#1 How do I format the data in my listbox and combo box so it only show the "string" data and not the tags and random commas as well? (The combo box has unnecessary commas and the listbox shows tag data from XML) I'm not sure if it's in my XML or the way I'm using the XML connector.
#2 I got the XML data to the combo box and the selection from the combo to the list box. How would I get the users selection from the listbox to load a .swf into the loader component? Again, I'm not 100% of how well I did my XML and I have no idea how to use the XML connector in that way.
problem was that when I added a Dynamic text box with a UIScrollBar, my images wouldn't load into my empty movie clip (there's a progressBar too).I hadn't named the UIScrollBar. It still scrolled the text as it should, but apparently since it wasn't named it was fooking with my other components and thereby with my image loaders.

Obviously a similar code would be placed on button two so the transitions could take place.I am uploading my file so you can see exactly what I am talking about. Also in this file will be a folder containg a version that works but without the buttons moving up and down which is the effect I wish to have
I have a button when I click on it it is suppose to load an external swf into a empty movie clip. But everytime I clicked it, it juz loops the whole flash animation of this very whole flash the button is currently in which it should actually load the external swf to the empty MC. I can't attack my file here since it is too big.
I am pulling double duty with this question as it serves two purposes. I am developing a total flash controlled ad system for myself, but also need to use the same theory for a project for work.
Concept: I have a main movie (ad rotator system) that I then want to randomly load other swf's (individual ads) into this main swf after a set period of time. The random load I got set no problem. The problem I am having is to get it to move to the new Frame label of the main movie which then loads the smaller swfs. I am using the LoadMovie with nInterval time delay command in flash to load the movies.
I'm trying to do a demo with a fastforward button and a rewind button that will go to the next scene and previous scene...however, due to the format that my predecessor created used...I'm stuck with alot of scenes. The navbar (ff and rewind buttons) is in a .swf file called main. The actual demo is in demo3.swf. I created a loader scene to redirect to the correct scene (when ff and rewind are hit), but I'm not sure how to pass the variables needed from the main movie.
I have a movie. In it are some buttons and a dynamic text field. When I press the buttons is should load text from a database into the dynamic text field. If I run the movie by itself (ie. not by LoadMovie()-ing it into a different movie) the dynamic text field gets filled with text and all is well and good. However, when I use LoadMovie() to load this very same movie into my main movie, the buttons no longer work; the text field stays empty.
I want to load a random movie clip from the library to an empty clip on the stage called (bg_graphics). the clips in the library are called (green, blue, yellow).
I have the following to load swf files in my main movie. The first swf files that loads has a movie FLV file in it. When I unload that swf file, with the below, the swf seems to get removed, but the audio of that flv keeps playing. What do I have to do, to completely remove that swf file.

I want to load the image gallery into my main movie.I have tried using the Loader component so that I can place the gallery in the middle of the main movie but the gallery just doesn't load correctly! I want it to load inside the Loader box in the middle of the page but it kicks the images out to the edge of the main movie.I suspect I need to edit the AS of the gallery.fla to specify the width of the SWF gallery inside the Loader, so I can send that to you via email - can't post it here cos its too long.
I went through Claudio's preloader transition tutorial on kirupa ([URL]). I have tried to apply it to my own fla and everything seems to work fine EXCEPT I can't get any of the external swfs to load into the empty movie clip called "content". And yes, I have checked and rechecked to make sure that all MCs have instance names!
Using an AS2 Carousel type menu with XML powered icons - and I'm trying to use the icons to load URLs within the main movie - in other words, load SWFs into the movie as opposed to external links. Someone here (thirdCherry) was kind enough provide this for internal loading targeting a movieClip:
