View 15 RepliesI am pulling double duty with this question as it serves two purposes. I am developing a total flash controlled ad system for myself, but also need to use the same theory for a project for work.
Concept: I have a main movie (ad rotator system) that I then want to randomly load other swf's (individual ads) into this main swf after a set period of time. The random load I got set no problem. The problem I am having is to get it to move to the new Frame label of the main movie which then loads the smaller swfs. I am using the LoadMovie with nInterval time delay command in flash to load the movies.

I'm trying to do a demo with a fastforward button and a rewind button that will go to the next scene and previous scene...however, due to the format that my predecessor created used...I'm stuck with alot of scenes. The navbar (ff and rewind buttons) is in a .swf file called main. The actual demo is in demo3.swf. I created a loader scene to redirect to the correct scene (when ff and rewind are hit), but I'm not sure how to pass the variables needed from the main movie.
View 4 RepliesI have a movie. In it are some buttons and a dynamic text field. When I press the buttons is should load text from a database into the dynamic text field. If I run the movie by itself (ie. not by LoadMovie()-ing it into a different movie) the dynamic text field gets filled with text and all is well and good. However, when I use LoadMovie() to load this very same movie into my main movie, the buttons no longer work; the text field stays empty.

I am using preloader from the main swf file to load other swf file, if i use a preloader inside my other swf file then it wont show so sorting that problem I am referencing this nice material on preloaders [] I have sorted the preloader problem by calling the preloader from the main swf file and hiding the other swf file till its fully downloaded. but now the problem is I have got no functionality from that swf file, i mean i have got that mouse effect in the other swf file that where ever you move the mouse in the screen the showreel adjusts itself but its static now.
I have got this container mc in my main swf file, and i am using the other swf file by clicking the button, the swf file loads in the container mc after showing the preloader but its kind a static.
I wanna know if it is possible to load an SWF file, from a main swf file, but OUTSIDE of it. What I mean to say is, to open it as it was a completely different thing.. like, for example, when you click a link of a video on a website and it automatically brings up your windows media player.. i dont wanna load the swf inside the main swf, I want another flash player to pop-up and play it separately..

I have the following to load swf files in my main movie. The first swf files that loads has a movie FLV file in it. When I unload that swf file, with the below, the swf seems to get removed, but the audio of that flv keeps playing. What do I have to do, to completely remove that swf file.

I want to load the image gallery into my main movie.I have tried using the Loader component so that I can place the gallery in the middle of the main movie but the gallery just doesn't load correctly! I want it to load inside the Loader box in the middle of the page but it kicks the images out to the edge of the main movie.I suspect I need to edit the AS of the gallery.fla to specify the width of the SWF gallery inside the Loader, so I can send that to you via email - can't post it here cos its too long.

However, when the swf loads, it just loads at 0,0 in my main .swf and not where the instance of game is located.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to get a swf file to play in a main swf file. I can get it to play, but it always appears in the top left corner. I've tried several different methods to position it but every one of them either doesn't work or won't play the file.Here's what I'm using right now.

View 5 RepliesI'm developing a simple Flash application which has only one SWF file. I want the SWF movie to start playing asap so I don't build a preloader for it. What happen if my actionscript code refers to resources which haven't been loaded yet? For example, the code cause the playhead to jump from frame 1 to frame 20 when the movie has just been loaded up to frame 10. In that case, flash player will? Block the script execution, stop playing, continue loading from frame 11 to 20 (without executing script), jump to frame 20 and invoke script at that frame when it's loaded?
Block the script execution, stop playing, ignore loading frame 11 to 19, load frame 20, jump to frame 20 and invoke script at that frame? Ignore jumping to frame 20, continue executing next statements after the go to frame 20 statement? Or anything else? If flash player doesn't ignore jumping to frame 20, any event is triggered when frame 20 is loaded completely? Note: Answers for the first question should focus on my example, cover all circumstances (such as attach movie from library...)
I have the ActionScript working fine on the main stage. Once I convert all layers into mc_clip, then put the mc_clip into the main stage, my html txt file no longer appear on the scroll area. Using an AS2 Carousel type menu with XML powered icons - and I'm trying to use the icons to load URLs within the main movie - in other words, load SWFs into the movie as opposed to external links. Someone here (thirdCherry) was kind enough provide this for internal loading targeting a movieClip:

I am trying to load external swf files in a main movie.I have created 3 different movies. Main movie is named "Container". Another 2 movies are named "movie1.swf" and "movie2.swf".Main movie "Container" is having some navigation buttons and template sort of thing in it. On the lowest layer in main movie I have created an empty movie clip in which I am trying to load "movie1.swf".Now problem is when I load "movie1.swf" instead of loading the external movie in target mc, it clears all the contents in main movie.
