I'm trying to load the string at [URL] into an array in flash with each number being in it's own entry in the array in that order. I have it loading into flash with
LoadDat = new LoadVars();
LoadDat.load("http://www.artistjobsearch.com/beta/loadvar.php");
now what do i need to turn it into a string first? do i need to reformat the php to output the data better?
I don't know if it is possible: Loading into the Array "List" several text files, that should load from six or seven diferent files located in the same folder as the .swf. What I have now is the following example, the list is created manually, and loads the files in order.
List = new Array('1', '2', '3');
How can I set it up so that it goes to a folder first, loads all the text files in order, and after finishing goes to another random folder?
I'm using LoadVars to load an external file that has one variable containing an array with a few sub arrays.

But every time I try to get one of the values I get "undefined". is there another way?
I am loading an external array from a text file like this.

I then trace fileURL.length and I getting a number much greater then my fileURL array length.

I'm loading 6 variables from a text file to populate an array, then using setInterval to populate two textfields every 5 seconds. IE7 gives me the "A script in this file is causing Flash Player 10 to run slowly do you want to abort this script?" It runs fine locally, but when I upload it, it won't work. Files are in the same folder in each case. Here is the entire script.

I'm trying to find a way to get flash to keep loading all the images in the array until they're all loaded, something to the effect of: On the completion of the loading of the first image, start loading the second image in the array. On completion of loading that, load the third image, etc, until there are no more.
I already have a variable that tells it how many items there are as well:

I want to load an SWF object from a Memory Stream or a byte array instead of a file on disk.AxShockwaveFlash class provides methods and properties to load an SWF providing its path to disk as a string but I haven't seen another way of doing it. There is an InlineData property but generally the class is undocumented and I don't know what this property does. Can it be done at all?

I am an educator and I am designing an interactive activity for my students. I created two buttons named baby_B and baby_G, and an input textfield named text_entry. When a student presses baby_B, the letter "B" is entered into the input text field; if a student presses baby_G, the letter "G" is entered into the input text field.For a student's solution to the input text field to be correct, it has to contain values BBB, BBG, BGB, BGG, GGB, GBG, GBB, and GGG in any order. I created an array named solution_S with these values. I also have an enter the solution button named enter_btn. The student can check their solution by pressing the enter_btn button; if the input textfield is correct, the quiz moves on to the next frame in my timeline; if it is incorrect, it moves to a different frame in my timeline.

I have five individual movie clips that dynamically load names from five variables in a txt file (these all fade in and out and overlap the transition of the next). Every time the movie loops, I'd like the movie clips to display the next item in the list until every name has been listed - is this doable? Is there a better way to do this from within flash instead of loading the content dynamically?

A client has sent me a Flash CS3 website template she was working on. I'm supposed to do some work on it. When I load it, it displays incorrectly. The body type appears incorrectly. It's different then what it appears on her computer. Causing all the body text to overlap each other. She has Windows Vista with Flash CS3. I'm using Windows XP Professional with Flash CS4.
When I open the file, it says that 'tahoma' font is missing on my computer. And asks me to select a replacement. Obviously, I have Tahoma on my computer -- everyone does. I even got her to send her version of Tahoma to me from her Windows Font Folder. When I tried to install it, it says "font already installed". So, I pointed it to my Tahoma font as a replacement. This could be the problem. But why does it not recognize my version of tahoma?
