I'm trying to make a Dynamic TextField and set align to 'Justify'. Anyone knows some tip to do it? I tried use align propriety from TextFormat but doesnt work. Until now, it only works with Static Texts, that I know.

View 2 RepliesI would like to set a fixed width for an input textfield with an embedded font. I would like to have the option to left-, right-, or center-justify the text. This is proving difficult.
If I set myTextField.autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT;, I get left-justified text, but the textfield width changes with each keystroke. Same trade-off with TextFieldAutoSize.RIGHT and TextFieldAutoSize.CENTER.
Now, if I use TextFieldAutoSize.NONE, then I can fix the width and height of my textfield, making it the size I want... but the cursor is always blinking in the middle of the textfield. What's the secret to justifying that cursor to the left [or right] and the textfield staying the size I initially set it to?
I am trying to justify the text of an XML file which loads into a dynamically created text field. I've tried a couple of things but no luck so far!

I am loading an image into an html textfield. The image loads fine, my problem is that Flash keeps wrapping the image in a <p> tag, so the image is never aligned to the top of my textfield.

View 4 RepliesIm trying to make a dynamic textfield count from 0 - $number (lets say 50) in 3 seconds. So that when I hit 3 seconds then I hit 50.So what im basically doing is calling a function with setInterval and im calling the function every 60 milisecond (3x1000 / 50).
The textfield is following a movieclip (percentagebar) which im tweening from one position to another in the same amount of time - 3 seconds.What im seeing is that the movieclip reaches its end position before the count on the textfield is done.Is this because the mc tween relies on the FPS and will therefore end quicker?And what can I do to make my textfield count end the same time as the tween?

I've been looking for a tutorial and answer to this for a while but can't find what I'm looking for. I am loading html text into a dynamic textfield, and I have a scrollbar controlling the scroll using the code below. What I want to do is also add scroll up/down buttons and have the scroll bar move in relation to the text scroll. I was just going to use "tracklistingtext.scrollV -- " for the scroll buttons, but right now the scroll bar doesn't recognize the text movement. What do I need to do to get the scroll bar to listen to the text scroll position?

Is it possible to make a dynamic textfield's background color alpha set to .5 and not affect the alpha of the text?
View 3 RepliesIn a card game I use a TextField in the middle to display the playing table number, but also to detect if a playing card has been played - using myTextField.hitTestObject(myCard) - which means the TextField's position and dimensions may not change:
My current AS3 code is:

However the TextField's content (the String "#2029" in the above screenshot) is not in the center of it.
I can not set _middle.autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.CENTER because this changes the width of the border (and breaks hitTestObject()).
Is there another way to align the text in the middle?
I have an input text field, with only one character and aligned to left, where i put information dynamically. If i put the character from actionscript, it doesn't align as it should. If i manually enter a character then it aligns well. After i manually added the character, if i try to add it from actionscript too, it aligns correctly. The font i use is created by me, and all the letters are aligned the same way. I embedded the font.

Basically I have a textfield that will have a fixed width and wrap the text, which will be passed to it dynamically. Since the text will be dynamic,there's no guarantee of how many lines the text will take up.Directly underneath that textfield i have another text field that will also take dynamic text. Think of it as a title and a subtitle.so I'll have something like this:

and probably others that I'm forgetting. Getting it to work with a single line of text isn't really a problem, but as soon as the text begins to wrap to multiple lines, everything i've tried seems to fall apart.

To make everything align to the bottom of the .swf when it scales, as most of my MC's won't need to scale. The bottom part stays pretty much on it, imagine a desk, with lots of stuff on it, then as you resize, the background extends, which is why it aligns bottom.There is then a bar at the top and a bar at the bottom. the bottom bar is fine, it is naturally aligned to the bottom, so it doesn't need to be told to do anything.The top bar is giving me some grief though. I've tried all sorts of code to try and make it sit up the top, but it just doesn't want to.

What I have is a dynamicly created row of movieClips. In which TextFields are added with text that's received from an Array. What I would like to be able to do is click on the movieClip that's visible and have the code understand I clicked array[3] for example and it will show the 4th array item in another textfield.
