ActionScript 2.0 :: Make A Quiz Where The User Identifies Textures In Images?

Sep 14, 2011

So basically I want to make a quiz where the user identifies textures in images. The first image is of a shell. So I want the user to be able to type in their answer into a input text field, then press a "check answer" button. Then if they typed in shell "Correct" will appear in a dynamic text field or "incorrect" if they had typed in any other answer.

with the action script required for this button, I am using action script 2 in flash cs4.

I found this code on the internet but it didn't work.

on (release) {
if (input_instance_name=="correct answer"){
display_instance_name.text="Correct!";
}

ActionScript 1/2 :: Using Collaboration Builder SDK For Multi-User Quiz

Jul 15, 2011

We are currently using some simple AS2 templates with adobe connect pro to add some interactivity to our elearning courses. We are hoping to take this a step further using SDK to give a live report to the meeting host. A current AS2 template that we use looks like this: The .swf contains 4 buttons, only 1 of which is the correct answer. Currently, the participant will click the correct button in their individual instance and reveal a message informing them that they are correct and may move on to the next question. It would be a greater learning experience if once all of the participants had answered, everyone in the meeting could see a break-down of what answers people gave.

E.g. 77% selected answer A 10% selected answer B. This could then be analysed and discussed with the trainer. I know this is not disimilar to the poll function built into connect but we need the answers to be images rather than text. Therefore, the question is really around the coding that would be used to implement such a system and as to what code we could use. We are not professional flash developers, rather trainers that have begun to dabble in self-taught flash and can use the SDK on a very basic level for synchronizing text input fields and pod re-sizing etc.

So when the user selects an answer, the corresponding jpeg to that answer is placed ready on frame 6 for their arrival after they have answered the third question.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Display Images From The Images Server As Long As The User Is Plugged Into The Domain

Jan 22, 2009

I have a flash file sitting inside of a web page in our company domain. There is another server (used to store images) that is part of the domain but is not running any web services (for security reasons). A folder on the images server is however shared in such a way that any site on the web server can display images from the images server as long as the user is plugged into the domain. For example, both I and my boss can pull up a web site on the web server and see all the information, but only he can see the images
because I have Vista Basic and no domain support. This is done via "<img src='\serverNamedirectory.'/>"

That's ok, but on this particular instance I don't want to display the image on the webpage, I want it in a SWF on the page. However the SWF can't seem to load the images even though the page it's sitting in could. I've tried tons of variations of URLRequests and Loaders, most resulting in security errors. Since most of the online discussions about these errors revolve around cross-domain access, I can't seem to find any tech support for our specific situation.

Actionscript 2.0 :: Make Interactive Multiple-choice Quiz In Adobe Flash?

Aug 13, 2009

Adobe Flash also lets users make interactive Flash quiz. This tutorial will guide you how to create interactive drop-down multiple-choice quiz in Adobe Flash. This short tutorial is just a sample of the workflow you'll use while authoring in Adobe Flash CS4.

Step 1 - Create a new document

a. Choose File > New.

b. In the New Document dialog box, selcet Flash File (ActionScript 2.0) and then Click OK.

Step 2 - Document settings Right-click on the stage, selcet Document Properties, then the Document Properties dialog box appears. It displays the current Stage size setting as 550*400 pixels, and the Background color swatch is set to white. You can change the size and color of the Stage as you want.

Step 3 - Import image to the stage Choose File > Import > Import to Stage, and then select the image you want. You also could click Ctrl+R to import image.

Step 4 - Add the multiple choice question to the Stage

a. Select the Text tool (T).

b. In the Property inspector (Window > Properties), select Static Text type to specify the type of text field, and then input the question " What was Michael's first song to air on MTV? ". You also could set the font size, family and color of the text.

Step 5 - Add ComboBox component

a. Select Window > Components.

b. Double-click ComboBox in the Components panel.

c. Select the component on the Stage, and name the instance name as box in the properties panel.

Step 6 - Add answer options

a. Select Window > Component Inspector. On the Component Inspector, click data, then the Value dialog box appears.

b. Click + to add answer options, and then replace the defaultValue as answer options, here the options are: thriller, billie jean, bad and the way you make me feel. After that, click OK.
c. On the Component Inspector, click labels, then the Value dialog box appears. Please following the same steps above to add the values by adding the + button.

[code]...

If that's too complicate to you, you could choose some 3rd party quiz makers to make multiple choice quiz for you. Wondershare QuizCreator is such a good Flash quiz maker that help you create multiple Flash quiz with ease.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Mipmaps With 3D Textures (bitmap Fill)

Jan 28, 2010

I must say I'm a little puzzled by the mipmap functionality in the newer flash players.URL...Tinic describes the way that mipmaps work in flash player if the images are specific sizes (e.g. powers of 2 like 256x256 etc). The demo here URL... shows this working quite clearly and I have myself demonstrated that when using a simple bitmap object with smoothing set to true then scaling has a much better result when the images are the correct dimensions for mipmap capabilities.However I have not seen mipmaps work in 3D when using bitmapFill and drawTriangles. The bitmap quality seems to look crappy regardless of the bitmap size. Do mipmaps ever work in 3D with bitmap fill etc? This topic direct from Adobe seems to imply that it does URL...with the comment "Use bitmap sizes that are divisible by 4 or 8 for two-dimensional images (such as 640 x 128, which can be reduced as follows: 320 x 64 > 160 x 32 > 80 x 16 > 40 x 8 > 20 x 4 > 10 x 2 > 5 x 1) and 2^n for three-dimensional textures".However a few other sources such as this one implies that it doesnthttp:URL...with the comment "Mipmapping was introduced in Flash Player 9 but it doesn't work with 3D drawing and requires textures to be even in resolution. That is why we developed our own method of filtering."

Flash :: Textures Distortion In 3D To Render A Model

Nov 1, 2011

I am using Papervision3D Flash 3D engine to render a model. Also I am noob in 3D =D Model is simple, it's a parallelepiped with different textures on its sides. All works just fine except one thing: whenever I change my visual angle to a model from 90° textures on the sides are distorted. I notices that it is common effect in 3D graphics, I saw that effect in games and other 3D renderers (i.e. away3D, three.js) even wth different 3D models. Distorted texture on object (different view angle): Normal texture on object (same object and texture) (view angle == 90°): What is the reason of this effect?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Drag-the-word Quiz - Make The Word Fit Into The White Box?

Apr 1, 2003

I am doing drag-the-word quiz. When you match the word with correct part, the message pop out, saying Bingo! If the word is matched with wrong part, the "Sorry. When I play it, the "Sorry. Try Again" message dun pop out at all.

Another problem - I am not sure how to make the word fit into the white box. I only know how to make the word drop on the white box. Can you tell me how to do it? I will be adding voiceovers to the quiz when the word is matched with the part. For e.g it will say "bingo" or "Sorry. Try Again". How to attach the voiceovers to it?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading Certain Images When User Click On Thumbnail

Jan 1, 2005

I am working on a website where I want certain images to load whenever a user clicks on a thumbnail. I want a preloader to appear before the image is displayed. I created this so far:

mcLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
loadListener = new Object();
mcLoader.addListener(loadListener);
mcLoader.loadClip("foto.jpeg", placeholder_mc);
loadListener.onLoadProgress = function(placeholder_mc, loadedBytes, totalBytes) {
[Code] ....

When I preview this of course I see my image, but I want to know if the preloader works. So I hit ctrl+enter again and... nothing. The progress bar (bar_mc) blinks once and then blank... a white screen... Besides, I want this code to be executed when a user clicks a thumbnail, how can I implement this on a button, while at the same time, the first thumbnail should load automatically, so there's no exmpty page when the user first opens the website?
