I have a line that is 800 pixels long. The line is a gradual curve, that gets kinda steep at the end. I want this ball to go along the line. How do I make the ball move to the right, and stay on top of the line. All I have now is...

I am making a ball move from left to right and back. but when I rollover twice quickly, it also accepts the second rollover command. I would like it to accept that second rollover only when the first one is finished. I mean, I want the first to be finished before it accepts another rollover.I know it is simple to solve this with a tween using frames instead of as, but I was wondering if someone knows how to adapt the script.

View 3 Repliesball collision inside another ball using gravity.I have one large circle in the middle of the stage (its radius is 150 pixels). I have another circle inside of that one (20 pixels radius), this is the smaller ball that I would like to have bounce around inside of the larger one with gravity. When the small ball hits the edge of the larger circle, I would like it bounce inwards to the center of the larger circle. It keeps doing this until it eventually stops in the center of the larger circle at the bottom.
View 1 RepliesI have a component based on canvas, and within that component I have two images. I have the component listen for a click and when that event occurs one image goes transparent and the other becomes visible. This part works perfect. Now, on clicking that component, I also want to do something to the parent canvas, I already have this working for more basic types (image, canvas, text, etc) but the problem with my component is that the click event has the internal image as the target, so what I want to happen to the outside canvas is happening to the canvas of the component. How do I make my component as a whole the target of any clicks on it?

I'm trying to create a homing missile in AS3. Easy enough when you want it to simply follow a point perfectly - but I'm trying to make the rocket have to turn around if the destination (target) bypasses it. Here's what I've got - it almost works, but as you can see it's quite glitchy (particularly if the mouse is to the left of the rocket (seems to work OK if it's moving right). [URL]

I have two movie clips on my main time line. There is a button in movie clip 1 that I want to target to movie clip 2... and it's not working for me. I'm assuming that when I'm in movie clip 1, I need to tell it to go back up to the main time line, and into the movie clip 2.The site that does the same exact thing I'm trying to do is this tutorial:The buttons and the page area are two seperate movie clips, but the buttons in the button movie clip target to the page area movie clip.This is the code that I'm thinking I'm getting an error with:Code:MovieClip(root).eyecarePage.gotoAndPlay(10);- where eyecarePage is the Instance Name of the movie clip where I want the button to target to, and once it's in that movie clip, I want it to go and play frame 10 and on... but instead I get a #1009 error.

So the display list seems to indicate that I have 6 movie clips on the stage. PROBLEM: When I try to target the movie clips by name in adding the following code for example: image2.apha = 0; I get an error: 1120: Access of undefined property image2. What I don't get is: image2 is a movieclip and a movieclip has a property of alpha?
Ive got 2 swf files. A.swf and B.swf A.swf is my main page. When a button is pushed, B.swf is loaded into a target in A.swf.That's no problem. What I'm unsure about is this:I want to be able to click a button inside B.swf, which will tell "A" to load a different movie in "B's" place.
View 9 Repliesi just did the loading movie into target tutorial on this site [URL] it worked fine, but when i went to apply the function to a button inside my drop down menu movie clip nothing happened. i am assuming it has to do with the fact that the movie clip button and the main movie are on different timelines. I thought the _root function would tell it to load the movie in the main timeline and not the drop down menu movie clips timeline.

ALl the controls for this bar live inside btnHold One of these buttons loads in a new swf. It doesn't really seem to say anywhere which version of Actionscript he uses, but at least it seems to show that what I'm trying to do is possible for someone, which is a start.I'm trying to do exactly what he describes--I have several squares on a grid that are numbered, eg.grid_0101, grid_0102, grid_0103, and so on, for about 100 squares altogether, and I want to be able to target a given square dynamically.This is the basis of the code I started with:

how to target multiple movie clips at once so that if my tank bumps into a specific set of movie clips, it will change my move var to false without having to put a hittest on each individual movie clip and without having to list out all their names? I don't want to list fifty different instance names for all the hittests.

In AS2, you just target a movie clip like so :trace (FirstMc.ChildMc1.ChildMc2.ChildMc3._x) // Will send out the x position of ChildMc3 But is AS3, i see that there's a function called getChildByName('put child name here'). But what if it's such a long way to go to that child??? Does it have to be:
FirstMc.getChildByName("ChildMc1"). getChildByName("ChildMc2"). getChildByName("ChildMc3").x
That just seems to tedious and I'm sure Adobe thought of a clean way of targetting??
I have a all flash site that has several FLV's that people can click on called Green Solutions, Home Control, Temperature Control. My client wants to know if its possible to put a hyperlink in a email to his clients that would directly link them to any one of those videos.
