ActionScript 2.0 :: OnEnterFrame From A Prototype Function?

Aug 30, 2004

The function is called on release of a movieclip. I'm making a drag a drop navigation and there are two content windows .. "h1" and "h3".

I don't think there's anything(much) wrong with my code itself, I'm just having trouble with calling anything within h_ins.onEnterFrame. Is there a fundamental issue that I'm not aware of? Below are all the details if you're interested.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Color Object Prototype And This.onEnterFrame?

Jun 27, 2004

use the "this.onEnterFrame = function()" function within a Color.prototype function? I'm trying to write my own function to go from one color to another, but nothing works within my this.onEnterFrame function, but anywhere outside of it it works fine.I've done this before, but using a movieclip prototype, so I know it' not syntax. And if you can't, for some reason, use this.onEnterFrame within a color prototype, how do you pass the name of a color object to a function so that I could just say changeColor(myColor, 0xffffff); to change it to white?

ActionScript 2.0 :: OnEnterFrame=null - OnEnterFrame=undefined & Delete OnEnterFrame

Mar 29, 2008

onEnterFrame=null, onEnterFrame=undefined & delete onEnterFrame....

Which one to use??? What are the performance considerations. If all my movieclips on-stage are running a MovieClip.prototype.onEnterFrame = function() {run initial stuff before setting onEnterFrame=null/undefined... }, will there be performance hits? It's sad that delete onEnterFrame doesn't work unless I delete the prototype enterFrame as well, which would make the clips reinitailise itself again once you declare the enterFrame prototype again (i need to do this since there's more movieclips that end up appearing on-stage, and they need to automatically initialises themselves the moment they appear).

oldx = newx;

Which works great except that it scrolls the whole thing all at once. Is it possible to put some kind of increment in there so that on a key press it only moves a certain amount of pixels?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Sound Fading In Function With Prototype And SetInterval

I'm trying to create a function that will help me fade in sounds with the help of setInterval. I'm almost there! Here is the code so far:

// Begin
melodyhalf1 = new Sound("melodyhalf1_mc");
melodyhalf1.attachSound("melodyhalf1");
melodyhalf1.start(0, 99);

[Code]....

I placed a comment in the Sound.prototype.fadeIn to test if it was being called, as well as to see if the melodyhalf1 variable (object?) was being passed.

The results are that the fadeIn function *is* being called, but the trace(this) comes back with 'undefined'.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Get Is A Prototype Or Function That Will Allows For Multiple Instances On That Stage?

Apr 25, 2007

I'm having issues with something wanted to accomplish involving qued amations that i can reuse in various situations throughout an application...

Basically, what I'm trying to get is a prototype or function that will allows for multiple instances on that stage that start at a specific x/y and size, animate to a specific x/y size and end at a specific x/y and size... the x/y and size information is defined for each of the instances in the function.

A good place for this would be with buttons... check the sloppy diagram attached.

What I want to do is reset the _x of eeScroller to 0.9 once it reaches the _x of -889.3

IDE :: Use An OnEnterFrame Event To Call A Function Just Once?

Oct 5, 2009

I need to use an onEnterFrame event to call a function just once. Here's the code:

my_object.onEnterFrame = function() {
if (this._y == 100) {
my_function();
}
};

So say i drag "my_object" to a y-coordinate of 100, how do i make it so it only calls the function once. Then if i drag the object away from y=100, and then back to y=100, i want it to call the function again.

I'm using the onEnterFrame event b/c i need it to constantly look for the object to be at y=100, maybe except when its actually at 100.
