How do i change content on a page each time a user visits or refreshes the page? example: the icon on kirupas header changes when the page is refreshed or re loaded. I have searched using dynamic content, but didn't quite find it...I only want to change 1 image..

View 3 RepliesI have built my personal webpage in Flash CS3/AS3. I did some updates today, changed some pictures and stuff. Now when I upload and replace the previous *.swf on the server, and try to load my webpage my browser displays the folowing message:
Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player. I tried exporting with Flas Player 8, and checked it using different bowsers too (curenntly I use the latest version of Firefox), but I get the same error when trying to relode my site. I have no more ideas what to do.
I am a experiencing an issue with loading of the haeader(flash) on the site I am currently working. Each browser behaves in a similar manner while not displaying flash animated header. I tried to save it as CS3, as CS4 alows me to do so and even that does not work.Details: I am using Dreamvewaver CS4 and Flash CS4 to build this site, could there be some type of an issue with DW4?

(URL... )where 12345 is the corresponding Id number that I want to get.I have this functionality working.I am using Internet Explorer 7.My issue is that when a user attempts to enter a new query string id into the URL, the page doesn't refresh when the user hits enter or the refresh button. I'm making this game with Adobe Flash and I have this level where you need to stop a bomb from exploding, but when you stopped it and go to the next frame the bomb is still running and you still go to the game over screen when the countdown reaches 0. For the countdown I use the following ActionScript:

I have an swf loaded in a browswer (fire fox) and i use log on console using [code]I have initialized my swf in the document class on the Event.Added to stage.and i have a clean up function performing all the clean up/exit process in the code on the event [code]Now Doubt that this is being called/ activated/trigered as i am not able to log the start and end of the function to the console.The console log is of firebug.What exactly am i missing here? I know i have to use the asfunction in HTML. So far I have just created my swf file with a function called showInfo. I've embedded the flash into an HTML page. I have then added a link on the HTML page as follows:
<a href="asfunction:showInfo">Link name</a> but when I click it says: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (asfunction) isn't associated with any program."

I've seen a site a while back that as you went through it it would change the url without reloading the page/swf. I want to know how do you build a Flash banner and buttons and as they the movie plays or they click on buttons have it change the url and the html text but leave the swf playing? Can this be achieved without too much hassle or will it require advanced coding?

So when the user clicks on a page on the menu and the site shows the page that the user selected, the music also changes depending on which page the user selected. View 5 RepliesI'm trying to take a variable from a php page and send it to flash to then use in a link.I'm having problems just selecting ONE variable from the print function, the code will help explain:

It collects all the data fine but it does not print it out correctly, it prints out all the variables in the php in one link. For example: If i click the facebook icon, i will be taken to http:[url].... This also happens with the other icons (Youtube and Twitter).
I have 2 versions of the same code, both to make 3 simple buttons work to move the timeline to a keyframe to change the page for user navigation. What is the difference? Is one way better than the other?

i have a video that appears when looking at my 'Other' page. But when i click onto a different page i see the new page but can still hear the videos sound. how to stop the video when you leave that page?
View 2 RepliesI have been working on an Adobe Flex application for some months now, and the application is meant to run 24/7 for days (weeks!) continuously. However, I'm now seeing that after a few days of running nonstop the computer it runs on tells me that the system is low on virtual memory and gives me an error about Page File usage. Once I close the Flex app, the Page File usage goes down from 1.9 GB to 100 MB (or less). It seems that its using up all this memory and not freeing it although I have been very careful in my app to not keep huge arrays.The app does some graphing and draws a lot of shapes (to greate a 'gauge') and then gets rid of them by re-declaring that object as another 'gauge'.

The problem is the movie seems working when there is a alert on, without at least one alert msg, the code does not work, I am sure you people can solve, I can see that the following code works well in both Mozilla and IE, but only if the alert is ON, if I put it off, then the code does not work. i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,
