I have a Flash 8 site that plays background music.I would like to be able to change the music depending on which page the visitor is on. So when the user clicks on a page on the menu and the site shows the page that the user selected, the music also changes depending on which page the user selected. Right now the music is on the main timeline and set to Loop.

How can I create a music flash file that will play on every page of the web site, I am going to have about 7 pages.

This created the symbol containing the animated .gif.I dragged the symbol onto the scene where I want it. However, the animation seems to play at a different speed (fps) than normal. So I changed the fps of the symbol (at bottom of Timeline where it says "fps"). But for some reason this changes the fps of the rest of the entire movie.

But when I am trying to change the label text in one of my buttons the text is changing on the other button as well. I believed they where separate instances?

I made a simple page with several buttons that play music, but then decided I wanted a video (flv) to first play automatically, and when that ends the page with the buttons appears. How can I do that? Right now I have four layers using one frame. Layer one has the AS code, two has the text, three has the buttons and the fourth layer has a background image.

View 2 RepliesWhat I am trying to do is have multiple play/stop buttons on one page. I've been watching tutorials trying to figure out the best way to do this, but it seems there are so many different ways. I am making the band's name as the play/stop button (one color as play, a different color as stop). I've successfully done that to one button. What I'd like to be able to do is add anywhere from 3-6 songs (all different bands/buttons) per page.
Also, if one song is playing and another song is clicked, I would like to stop the first song and start whatever one is clicked so there aren't multiple songs playing at one time.
And if it's not too much to ask, once one song is either done playing or another is clicked, if it could go back to the first state of the button, that would be amazing.
I will paste my code below for the button I have. If there is a simpler way to do it, I'm totally open to that. Like I said, there seems to be so many ways to do everything, I'm not sure which is best.

I have an swf loaded in a browswer (fire fox) and i use log on console using [code]I have initialized my swf in the document class on the Event.Added to stage.and i have a clean up function performing all the clean up/exit process in the code on the event [code]Now Doubt that this is being called/ activated/trigered as i am not able to log the start and end of the function to the console.The console log is of firebug.What exactly am i missing here? I would like to call the cleanup function on reload of page or relode of swf or change of page.How do i trigger and log it properly

ok i have a music off button...i want the text to change from "music off" to "music on" and for the actionscript code to change so that the music will turn on when you press on and not off when you press on.
Would I use attachMovie and just convert my button to a movieclip or is there another way? etc, loadmovie.
I know there is an easy answer to this and it is at the tip of my tounge.

I followed it exactly and the button worked fine with the music,
but then i stated to add keyframes, it works fine carys on playing on every keyframe i go to, but the problem is when i go back to the first keyframe the music still goes on which is good, but its starts again over the one thats already playing!
i have my nave bar as my main swf then i load each page as an external swf in a mc container. each button should be marked when you navigate to the respective page. how would i load a current pages icon over the generic one when i navigate to that page then unload it when i navigate to another page?

I'm brand new with AS3 and XML but have a PHP background so I attempted to understand the script and have not had any luck. The index.htm file displays a very simple music player which calls on the button_mp3_player SWF. The FLA has a portion of code that calls on an XML file to load a particular song. What I need to do is remove the XML file completely and define the MP3 file name in the index.htm. I assume some AS3 code needs to be altered so that it does not call on the XML and also that the index.htm code needs to be altered to define the MP3.

how to change the volume, asking how to detect the actual volume (not the set 100 volume) of music/sounds. does flash even detect the actual volume output? So when the volume is 0 (e.g. maybe at the end of a song) the ._alpha is 0, so all I need is a variable for the output volume of a song.

View 5 RepliesI'm trying to edit a Flash file, that get it's data from and XML file.Now when you click on one of the menu items, the page + page title should change, but somehow the page title remains the same. (at least for the first 3 menu items) But when you go to the last menu item and then back to one of the first 3 menu items, the correct page title is shown.I'm no flash / AS expert, so I can't really find out what the problem is, but it seems like it has something to do with this function
