Flash :: Music Player Stop Working - Embed It Into Index Page?
May 3, 2010
Inside my /test folder/music_player/ have have a file called mini_player.swf. If I play it without embedding it anywhere, like this: [URL].. everything is OK. But when I add it into my index page: [URL].. the song doesn't start.
i need a flash player (to embed in a html file) that can play external files mp3 through xml and just a simple play and pause buttons... i've been searching in google but it just shows up players with a big playlists and too much buttons for my work
I created a flash site with four pages with music playing in the backround. on one page I want the music to stop and continue once you leave that page.
What I am trying to do is have multiple play/stop buttons on one page. I've been watching tutorials trying to figure out the best way to do this, but it seems there are so many different ways. I am making the band's name as the play/stop button (one color as play, a different color as stop). I've successfully done that to one button. What I'd like to be able to do is add anywhere from 3-6 songs (all different bands/buttons) per page.
Also, if one song is playing and another song is clicked, I would like to stop the first song and start whatever one is clicked so there aren't multiple songs playing at one time.
And if it's not too much to ask, once one song is either done playing or another is clicked, if it could go back to the first state of the button, that would be amazing.
I will paste my code below for the button I have. If there is a simpler way to do it, I'm totally open to that. Like I said, there seems to be so many ways to do everything, I'm not sure which is best.
var loadSnd:URLRequest = new URLRequest("Song1.mp3"); var thisSnd:Sound = new Sound(); var sndTrans:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel(); thisSnd.load(loadSnd);
I'm by no means up on my AS at all and this MP3 player I've had for a while and just readjusted to suit my needs.
One thing i really want to change is the fact the music starts automatically. I changed line 38 from True to False which does indeed stop the music playing on load but instead i get "Loading" and it doesn't do anything after that. Hitting play won't work.[code]...

Code: stop(); playlist = new XML(); playlist.ignoreWhite = true;
I want a site to have background music, but when I attach the music to the file it makes it quite large ...3 meg and the site is slow to load. Is there any way of having the music separate from the flash file and still have start stop music buttons?
I am trying to add a music track to some of the pages of my flash website, I imported the mp3 file to the library and dragged it on the stage and it plays when I test it. I want to add play/stop music button on the page, I dragged buttons from the video components to use, but I have no idea where to start with the code??
I have my mp3 audio clip and made my play and stop button. I am using cs4 and as3. I want to have the play and stop button on my main page but still have the music play when the users clicks onto one of the buttons which takes them to a new page.
So far my code stops the sound but once it has stopped the sound no longer works. I don't see any errors reported. It is as if the event listener no longer listens... stop(); var soundClip:Sound = new Sound(); var sndChannel:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel(); var soundClipCompleted = false; var isPlaying = false; soundClip.load(new URLRequest("tune.mp3")); [Code] .....
I'm building a website in flash using my limited understanding of action script.Everything was progressing very well until I found that if I go to one of my example pages of my web site and play the flash video (with audio)and click back to my "home" button, the audio will continue to play.If I go back to the example page, the video is off and when I start the video, it plays again with the other audio.How do I stop the audio when I click away from the example page back to the home page or any other page?
I just need something simple, where there is only pause, play and stop buttons. I usually load the music within the flash movie and play from there, but I would like to build one where if you press play, the music loads and plays streaming on the spot. I have got a couple of more complex streaming style mp3 players but I would like to use a simplified streaming version. Any recommendations or code that I can just add to a button?
I have created a website which consists of pages created from flash and dreamweaver (with embedded swf navigation bar at top of webpage)Once the home page is loaded there is a button to visit the page created with DW (with embedded swf nav bar). This works fine if I run the web from my computer locally.But if I write these entire website on a CD and access all the files from CD and then try to open the same html page from the same button in IE9; it does not work. It just keep showing the progress nothing happens. Interestingly, everything works fine on google chrome browser from the CD and also works fine from the other computer with Xp and IE8. But does not work on Windows 7 with IE9 from a CD specifically.
I have also tried to use the option in DW (called "Convert active content") for that page.which added that .js file and script on the html code. even after that does not work.I have also turned on the option "run active content from the cd" internet option for IE9 and "activex filtering" is also off on the security tab of tools of IE9.
I need to embed a SWF on a website. The swf is this interactive map at [URL](where it says select your region). So I found the SWF file and I tried to embed it on a test page, and its not working correctly. [URL] I don't know anything about flash, but the code I used was this:
Code: <embed src=" [URL] The map is showing up, but the continents regions are not click-able, and the drop down text is not showing the continents.
I'm looking for a (simple) way to make the vidplayer to stop playing when moving from one page to another one (on the same timeline hey). As it is right now if you start to watch a video and don't push the stop button before going to another page it keeps playing - hence you still hear the sound playing in the background while you're actually looking at another page. And that's not good.
I'm working on an animation where I have my "dog" fighting the evil vacuum cleaner. I got most of it to work the way I want it to.
1) I have movie clips entitled pepper_mc (where my dog is supposed to be walking), swirl (where a swirly-type symbol is supposed to spin over the dead vacuum's head), and vacuum_mc (where the evil vacuum is supposed to have a swinging arm (called vacuumarm_mc) that I created using the bone tool). When I add them to the stage and test them, the animations within the movie clips don't happen.
2) I have background music that I'd like to stop playing at the end of the animation, but I'm not sure how to do that. (using the stop(); actionscript doesn't help).Where am I going wrong? I'm using Flash Pro CS5.
Here's the file --> Pepper and the Vacuum of DOOM!
When the movies performs the getURL action, I want the music to continue playing, but the getURL function seems to stop the music at frame 152 (where the getURL action is placed), when I wanted the music to continue to frame 257 (the end of the movie). I hope I've explained this clearly
I have a website which im designing exclusively in flash. The project size is 1000x500. The video which im using is 320x150. On the stage ive set the player to 320x150. The stage size is 1000x500 (thats the size and span of the website). When the page works from the internet. It expands to fill the screen of the viewing computer. Which is what i want anyway since Ive set my publish settings to get this. But the video player gets scaled along with the page that scales to occupy the viewing screen. So when the player becomes a little larger than its orginal size the video looks low quality. Is there a way that the player alone could be set to maintain its orginal size of 320x150 and not scale because this is causing the video to get distorted and pixellated ?
I downloaded a flash template and have modified it to suit our company but there is something that I can't do. When the file loads in the browser, music immediately plays and loops until you click a button to stop the music. On our video page, we have video that we need to play that has sound in it. How do I get the background music to stop when my video plays without having to go up and stop the music manually. The videos are loaded via an external XML document and there are no buttons in the FLA file to link code to. the website is [URL]
I have a streaming MP3 player that i'm going to incorporate into my site. Below is the AS for the player. At the moment the player starts automatically when the page loads up. Can someone tell me what i'd need to change so the player doesn't start streaming on page load....?
I have a home page and five other pages. The five pages have a main menu at the top containing buttons that allow you to go to the other pages:
on(release){ gotoAndPlay("gallery"); }
I have an actions layer. Each section has the following action in the first frame: stop(); When I view the website the home page works correctly. However, any page with the main menu automatically switches to the next page after about six seconds. The code seems pretty straightforward so I have no idea what I'm missing.
i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,
function over(event:MouseEvent):void { this.gotoAndPlay(30);} function out(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....
I am using swf files for headers on my website. All has worked well until tonight. If I clear my browsing history in IE then go to my website, the swf does not show on the index page (index page only thus far). If you refresh the browser the file loads fine. The only thing I have changed is I added some css for a navigation bar, which I would not think would effect the swf. You can look at the site at [URL]
I have a movieclip which has this script attached to it (plays a soundclip on hover) - problem is that if I move the mouse out I need to stop the soundclip. Right now it just starts again while its still playing (on mouse over) == not good.
I tried to make a MOUSE_OUT event and a .stop(); but it does not seem to work.
import flash.media.Sound; import flash.media.SoundChannel; //Declare a BeepSnd sound object that loads a library sound.
I have a project for a site that sells fishing lures.I want to have an animated index page before moving on to the home page. My idea is to have a boat sitting on a pond fishing lines in the water, when a fish jumps out of the water, the water ripples, the next time you see the fish it's got a hook in it mouth and jumping out of the water.how do I go about it? How to I create the water rippling? I think with the fish I can do easily enough with it jumping on and off stage. Would I do the water with shape tweens?
I have a flash animation that plays on the index page.My client wants it to only play when someone first gets to their site. (each visit)So if they go on to the contact page and then back to the homepage, the flash movie will stay on frame one.
