slow site down when visitors first open site, my friends said no but the whole movie has to load as well correct[url]...

Aug 22, 2009I am using swf files for headers on my website. All has worked well until tonight. If I clear my browsing history in IE then go to my website, the swf does not show on the index page (index page only thus far). If you refresh the browser the file loads fine. The only thing I have changed is I added some css for a navigation bar, which I would not think would effect the swf. You can look at the site at [URL]

Jul 11, 2011I have a project for a site that sells fishing lures.I want to have an animated index page before moving on to the home page. My idea is to have a boat sitting on a pond fishing lines in the water, when a fish jumps out of the water, the water ripples, the next time you see the fish it's got a hook in it mouth and jumping out of the water.how do I go about it? How to I create the water rippling? I think with the fish I can do easily enough with it jumping on and off stage. Would I do the water with shape tweens?

Nov 25, 2008I taught myself enough AS2.0 to configure flashpaper within my flash portfolio. I have a bunch of blueprints of site plans, elevations, maps, etc. that I like to keep at full size (24"x36",30"x42", 36"x48", etc.) and it worked great with Flashpaper until I bought a new computer with Vista
I have tried Print2Flash (I don't think they print larger than 24"x36" and even then the resolution is srewed up). I have also used Scribd (all of these large PDF files keep crashing). Are there any other special browsers for these large PDFs? I would like to embed the browser into my flash page, but I also want to control the size and dimensions of the browser within the page. I have seen one or two websites that now have Acrobat Reader 9? resized within the main website window.

I'm not very saavy in flash so this may be a simple question.. but how do you make a "movie-less" flash file? Is it possible to just embed an actionscript file? Feb 28, 2011i am wanting to know how much I can be sure that users of my website will not be able to pass bogus variables to my Flash movie. Basically I will have some features available to certain users and I realise that for the average user they will not know anything about how to send spoof vars but is it possible for someone to change the variables sent using SWFObject when a page loads and thus be able to use the functionality that I am trying to disable for them.I have a PHP (my_flash_movie.php) page that calls a function from an included globals.php file to determine if the user can see the restricted functionality is_ user_a_subscriber($_SESSION['user_id']); which returns 1 or 0. This 1 or 0 is then passed to Flash which enables or disables certain features. I dont want someone to be able to send a 1 instead of a 0 basically. This isnt a site where security is critical and the functionality that is disabled is not really critical either so wouldnt be too bad if this happened but im just curious about this and wondering if I should think of another way to pass these vars that might be more hidden.

Flash :: Javascript - After Installing - Swfobject Still Won't Embed Video Until Reload The Original Page
Nov 3, 2010I have a simple html page with some javascript where if i click a link, it will show a flash video in a div using the swfobject.embedSWF function. I did a test: Uninstalled flash from my machine, then reloaded the page and clicked the link...I correctly saw no video. I then installed flash and came back to the same page (no reload) and the embed still won't work. I know in swfobject 1.5 (I'm now using 2.2), I would be able to embed the swf after the user installs flash, but now the user needs to reload the page in order to get the flash to appear. This is not good for my current situation, anyone know what is going on here? Here is sample code using a youtube video:

sendStream.peerStreams[0].send("MyFunction",param1,param2);
and I have to determine which peer I'm sending to by their ID such as "peerID1234"
I know that you can check the peerID of the stream by doing:
sendStream.peerStreams[0]["farID"]
how can I make my send stream function know to use the array index where the peerID is?
so basically it could be like:
sendStream.peerStreams[where peerStreams[]["farID"] == peerID].send("MyFunction",param1,param2);

Sep 11, 2009For a new site I'm implementing swfaddress to enable deeplinking. Everything works fine when I test the movie in flash. However when I upload the file on the web, the content_mc keeps returning to its first position (the content_mc is a movieclip containing five pages on the timeline). Also the title in the title bar does not change consistently. The strange thing is that it works fine while playing the swf file itself.

May 28, 2008I am currently building a website and what i need to do is to call external swfs in an empty MC on the index page regarding which buttons of the nav you clicked on.It works, very nicely. But then i need to be able to preload another swf on the index when i click on a thumbnail.
e.g: index load the "who.swf" first. On the who.swf there are 2 thumbnail and when click it must replace the "who.swf" with contact.swf. It works but the only problem is that i cant make the preloader of the index to preload the empty MC which load all the external swf.
Is it because i am using loadMovie and not loadCLip.

Oct 18, 2010I have an index page with several buttons on. When the buttons are clicked, it takes the user to a different point in the timeline and loads the appropriate swf in the UILOader I have on stage.Everything was working fine, but it has suddenly decided to stop working. Now if you click a button on the index page, it loads the relevant swf just fine, but when you go back to the index page and click a different button, the UILoader will not show the corresponding swf and just appear blank, although I know its there as I can hear the sound of the swf playing! I'm not sure if its simply something blocking the swf, but I don't even know what it is! I'm using addChild to add little panels to the screen when a button is pressed, but they are hardly big enough to cover the whole of the UILoader!
