I'm creating a banner navigation with quick animation and I just want to PLAY the animation when user visit the page for a first time OR only in homepage (index page).Basically when visitor go to another pages, they won't see the "banner" animation over & over again. How to accomplish this ?

Is there some kind of detection or something that will detect the button being pressed, play the outro and then head off to the page. View 6 RepliesI have a strange problem that I was hoping someone might resolve. I'm a new visitor to the Flash world from other development platforms, so the language seems pretty straightforward, but I have now spent a week and a half on this one bug.
Basically, I'm trying to play an F4V using an FLVPlayback component. However, it seems that the video only plays if the f4v is already in the client cache. If the cache is empty, or disabled, then the FLVPlayback component throws an Error 1000, which seems to suggest it's having trouble connecting/pulling the video off the server. But since it does work on the second visit, then I suspect that it does indeed perform the download -- it just THINKS it can't. [code]...
I'm using mx 2004 and php, mysql. I have flash banner in a hybrid webpage that I would like to change the image and some text each time user selects a new category in the html page. There are quite a few categories. What is the best way to do this and how would I go about doing it. is there a script sample or tutorial that I could modify?
View 4 RepliesIn the timeline I have a main menu on frame 1 and four subsections on frames 10,20,30, and 40. I have four buttons on the main menu label("button001"; "button002";"button003", and "button004"), each one is sending the movie to a specific label (i.e: "section001", frame 10; "section002", frame 20; "section003", frame 30; and "section004", frame 40). In each one of those specific frames/labels (10,20,30,and 40) I have a movie clip that contains the section. It starts with a simple animation and ends in a stop. And this is what I want to do: play the animation just once.
Let's say in the main menu; when pressing one of the four buttons, the movie goes to one of those specific frames and the animation starts. For instance, I press "button001" and send my movie to the "section001" label. Then I return to the main menu and press again the "button001"; I don't want the animation to play again, I want to start in the stop point. So, I think about using some kind of conditional, but it's not working. Inside the "section001" movie, I put the following code on the first frame:

So, my idea is that the first time the movie is played, the animation is played; then, I indicate in the last frame that the move has been played. next time I go to the "section001" label the movie must skip the animation and go directly to the "section001_stop" label.
I have the following code that brings in a movie animation. My problem is that once the animation is finished and the user presses the 'back' button to navigate elsewhere on the website, if they go back to the animation and click the 'great_btn' the animation won't play again.

I have a swf animation that plays a sound on the main home page. People are happy to hear the sound upon first entering the website but it starts to get annoying after that (people go to different pages on the site then come back to the home page).
Just wondering what would be a good way to do this? I can set it up so that he same swf file is used on every webpage.
I understand that I could do a cookie or something like it/ session variable, but is that over kill? Can I do something via actionscript / the swf by itself?
I have a flash logo on my website but I don't want it to play every page load.I'm a total newbie in actionscript but I've gone as far as I have with the logo by googling and asking questions. I hope someone can please tell me how to do this one last thing I need on my logo since I can't find it anywhere! :)I'm using AS2 but I guess I can use 3 as well.

(Of course I understand that I can set the first one to play and the others to stop mode, but that doesn't solve the problem) What I try do do is this: *When the web site starts only the first pseudo page let the swf play. *When clicking a link to an other pseudo page that particular movie on the linked page starts playing. *All other swf movies don't play.

I recently got back into animating and I need some help with my latest project. I have a number of different animations that I would like to be played on the inside of a tv, however I would like for these animations to play at certain times. For example, at 9:00 pm (real time) the tv displays the animation of the character sleeping. I'm not sure how to do this, and I'm not sure if I need an internal clock.

When i publish it however (I have tried both flash published and HTML published), it plays about 3/4's of the way, and restarts. The second time through (and from then on), it plays fully, just fine. How do I stop this?

The way I have it set up - each piece of artwork animates to center screen as it fades in when you click it's thumbnail. This part works fine.
I am working with the open source flash player at [URL].. and I am trying to figure out how to limit one sound file at a time. I know this has been done on a number of sites but I am unsure how to approach it.
Scenario: A page has five different instances of the flash player. The user is litening to one song but clicks on another to listen to it.Goal: The first audio file automatically stops while the second starts playing instead of both playing at the same time.
Do I need to have some sort of javascript handler than interacts with the swf or something?
I have a project for a site that sells fishing lures.I want to have an animated index page before moving on to the home page. My idea is to have a boat sitting on a pond fishing lines in the water, when a fish jumps out of the water, the water ripples, the next time you see the fish it's got a hook in it mouth and jumping out of the water.how do I go about it? How to I create the water rippling? I think with the fish I can do easily enough with it jumping on and off stage. Would I do the water with shape tweens?

However, for all other pages i.e contact.html aboutus.html we need the animation to skip to the end straight away and not to play the whole animation through. I was thinking this would be controlled by a variable or some kind of external text file ect. Basically in the first frame the actionscript needs to basically say
"if this html page is aboutus.html then go to the last frame and stop" and with the index page it would say "if this html page is index.html then keep playing"

What is the fastest way for a Adobe AIR program program to index all images on a users' computer? Using Open Source ActionScript-3, MXML Libs and classes.
Fastest - Same pc configuration, different time (seconds) To index - get a list of absolute links (like c://bla-bla/file ) and save them into file (index.txt) All images (like JPEGs, PNGs)

(my reason was that the exported flash file always recognised keystrokes as that of an american keyboard and the @ sign came out as this "when you hover over the icons at the bottom which bring up information contained in a button, it falls behind the iframe.is there anyway in which i can make that particular button that contains a movieclip get the next highest z index to go above the iframe?FYI:-i have tried this on the button instance but does not work...

Will a flash movie the size of of the logo area for example[url]...
slow site down when visitors first open site, my friends said no but the whole movie has to load as well correct[url]...
I am using swf files for headers on my website. All has worked well until tonight. If I clear my browsing history in IE then go to my website, the swf does not show on the index page (index page only thus far). If you refresh the browser the file loads fine. The only thing I have changed is I added some css for a navigation bar, which I would not think would effect the swf. You can look at the site at [URL]
