ActionScript 3.0 :: SWF Address Index Page On Timeline

For a new site I'm implementing swfaddress to enable deeplinking. Everything works fine when I test the movie in flash. However when I upload the file on the web, the content_mc keeps returning to its first position (the content_mc is a movieclip containing five pages on the timeline). Also the title in the title bar does not change consistently. The strange thing is that it works fine while playing the swf file itself.

I have a project for a site that sells fishing lures.I want to have an animated index page before moving on to the home page. My idea is to have a boat sitting on a pond fishing lines in the water, when a fish jumps out of the water, the water ripples, the next time you see the fish it's got a hook in it mouth and jumping out of the water.how do I go about it? How to I create the water rippling? I think with the fish I can do easily enough with it jumping on and off stage. Would I do the water with shape tweens?

I have a move clip with several buttons inside; their rollover seems fine. i am trying to get the buttons in the clip to address / go to the main movie timeline. Button names within the clip: c_btn, d_btn, etc. These are the symbols names; they have not been given unique instance names within the clip. The clip name is nav_all and its instance on the timeline is navall.mc I am using Flash CS3, AS3.

i had to remove the flash built form and place an iframe over the top of the animation with an html form! (my reason was that the exported flash file always recognised keystrokes as that of an american keyboard and the @ sign came out as this "when you hover over the icons at the bottom which bring up information contained in a button, it falls behind the iframe.is there anyway in which i can make that particular button that contains a movieclip get the next highest z index to go above the iframe?FYI:-i have tried this on the button instance but does not work...

I am using swf files for headers on my website. All has worked well until tonight. If I clear my browsing history in IE then go to my website, the swf does not show on the index page (index page only thus far). If you refresh the browser the file loads fine. The only thing I have changed is I added some css for a navigation bar, which I would not think would effect the swf. You can look at the site at [URL]

The FLV is the index page......when it ends, then the next web page comes up, with all the naviagation.

I have a flash animation that plays on the index page.My client wants it to only play when someone first gets to their site. (each visit)So if they go on to the contact page and then back to the homepage, the flash movie will stay on frame one.

I am currently building a website and what i need to do is to call external swfs in an empty MC on the index page regarding which buttons of the nav you clicked on.It works, very nicely. But then i need to be able to preload another swf on the index when i click on a thumbnail.
e.g: index load the "who.swf" first. On the who.swf there are 2 thumbnail and when click it must replace the "who.swf" with contact.swf. It works but the only problem is that i cant make the preloader of the index to preload the empty MC which load all the external swf.
Is it because i am using loadMovie and not loadCLip.

I have an index page with several buttons on. When the buttons are clicked, it takes the user to a different point in the timeline and loads the appropriate swf in the UILOader I have on stage.Everything was working fine, but it has suddenly decided to stop working. Now if you click a button on the index page, it loads the relevant swf just fine, but when you go back to the index page and click a different button, the UILoader will not show the corresponding swf and just appear blank, although I know its there as I can hear the sound of the swf playing! I'm not sure if its simply something blocking the swf, but I don't even know what it is! I'm using addChild to add little panels to the screen when a button is pressed, but they are hardly big enough to cover the whole of the UILoader!

Inside my /test folder/music_player/ have have a file called mini_player.swf. If I play it without embedding it anywhere, like this: [URL].. everything is OK. But when I add it into my index page: [URL].. the song doesn't start.

I'm creating a banner navigation with quick animation and I just want to PLAY the animation when user visit the page for a first time OR only in homepage (index page).Basically when visitor go to another pages, they won't see the "banner" animation over & over again. How to accomplish this ?

So, for sending to individual streams we have to reference the connected netStream we want to send to in some way like this:
sendStream.peerStreams[0].send("MyFunction",param1,param2);
and I have to determine which peer I'm sending to by their ID such as "peerID1234"
I know that you can check the peerID of the stream by doing:
sendStream.peerStreams[0]["farID"]
how can I make my send stream function know to use the array index where the peerID is?
so basically it could be like:
sendStream.peerStreams[where peerStreams[]["farID"] == peerID].send("MyFunction",param1,param2);

I'm about 10 hours deep into getting an external swf to be loaded on a page in my main timeline. I've gotten as far as loading the external swf (within the first few hours) hahah but now, have spent twice as long trying to get the external swf to be removed when a person navigates to a different page of my main timeline.
I have a videoplayer on one frame which is my "video" page. I've gotten the external swf to load two different ways, for example, the latest code i am using to load the external is below and seems so nice, clean and simple:

var loader:Loader = new Loader()
loader.load(request);
addChild(loader);
loader.x = 180
loader.y = 50
But I would like to add a function that says on any mouse click event (navigation) close the swf that is loaded.
If any of you genius people out there can help me, please do. I thought getting it to load was going to be the hard part but I was wrong. I am very discouraged by Actionscript in general.
download what i have so far, i left alot of the content out so the file size isn't big. And yes, i am sure once you see how I work you will be sure that I am no flash expert. I can send a link to the .flas, the site won't allow me to post the link as I am new.

This must have been done before and be really easy but I am a newbie so just keep coming up with compiler errors. I have built a website in flash cs4 using as3. I have set up the time line so that each different page on the website exists at a different position on the timeline. Sections have been labeled so that I can jump to that section upon button click.
What happens is when the link to the page/section is clicked the timeline jumps to that section and plays an animation that animates the page onto the stage then stops.("in animation") When you click another link the page should animate off of the stage ("out animation")and the next one animates in.
(I have set the time line up so that after each "in" animation there is a stop and after each "out" animation there is a stop.) This is where i'm having the problem.
I have set up event listeners for the button clicks But i can only get them to either play the "out" animation then that stops, using this code:

What i would like to know is how to add the two together so that when a button is clicked the information about what was clicked is added to a variable. The function plays the out animation then when that is complete checks the variable where the page clicked information is then jumps to that section on the timeline and plays it's "in" animation

i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

I'm trying to create a flash website where when you click on one page the background becomes darker and as you're about to click on another page the background becomes lighter again but if you want to go back to the previous page the background goes back to being darker. I hope this is clear. I've been trying to find a tutorial on this but I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terms, which is why I'm having no luck.

I am working on a flash piece that is composed of one master swf that has five options/sections within it. Each option loads two separate swfs that operate at the same time. Within those swfs are url links which open in the same window, replacing the page with the flash piece on it. Is it possible to link back from the opened url in a way that will go to the frame in the main swf's timeline that will reload the relevant swfs?
I had suggested just targeting a _blank window but the person I am attempting this for doesn't want that.
