i am trying to remove a .swf once you leave the index page. unsure of the method "contains" and how to remove the banner var or unload the var

However, once you get a few pages into the site it really bogs down, and I am wondering if it might be that the previous FLV that was playing when you clicked on the button to leave that page, might still be playing in memory or behind the scenes?
I currently have the next page buttons coded with:

and the sounds are stopping, but I am wondering if Flash still is using resources to keep the video playing on that frame?
Do I need to unload the video clip, or stop it somehow with the button?
These are external FLV's, NOT embedded in the timeline.
My CPU usage stays between 80-100% and once you click trough a few pages, it really begins to bog down, and stutter, and crash Flash Player.
I created a flash site with four pages with music playing in the backround. on one page I want the music to stop and continue once you leave that page.
View 2 RepliesI deployed a website a couple of days ago which is written entirely in Flash. On one of the pages there is a video which plays in the Flash Player. I have noticed that when I leave the video playing and select a button to take me to another page, the other page comes up but the audio keeps playing from the prior page. Worse yet, if I go back to the page with the Flash Player, it now relaods again and there are two audio tracks. Can someone tell me how this code is solved? There must be some Actionscript 3.0, which I'm using, which kills the player whenever you enter a different page?

My idea is to have a boat sitting on a pond fishing lines in the water, when a fish jumps out of the water, the water ripples, the next time you see the fish it's got a hook in it mouth and jumping out of the water.how do I go about it? How to I create the water rippling? I think with the fish I can do easily enough with it jumping on and off stage. Would I do the water with shape tweens?

2) don't know code for how to get it to load on entering the home page

I was just wondering whether it would be possible to remove an object from an array without referencing its index, for example when the index is unknown, or when you want to splice it from within the class itself, like ina die function for an enemy in an array. (my reason was that the exported flash file always recognised keystrokes as that of an american keyboard and the @ sign came out as this "when you hover over the icons at the bottom which bring up information contained in a button, it falls behind the iframe.is there anyway in which i can make that particular button that contains a movieclip get the next highest z index to go above the iframe?FYI:-i have tried this on the button instance but does not work...

I have series of frames with stuff on them. Normally you can go through, and flash automatically removes them each time.
But if I setChildIndex, it remains on the stage permenantly and won't clean up. Is there anyway to tell flash to be able to remove it again?
Will a flash movie the size of of the logo area for example[url]...

I am using swf files for headers on my website. All has worked well until tonight. If I clear my browsing history in IE then go to my website, the swf does not show on the index page (index page only thus far). If you refresh the browser the file loads fine. The only thing I have changed is I added some css for a navigation bar, which I would not think would effect the swf. You can look at the site at [URL]

View 13 RepliesFor a new site I'm implementing swfaddress to enable deeplinking. Everything works fine when I test the movie in flash. However when I upload the file on the web, the content_mc keeps returning to its first position (the content_mc is a movieclip containing five pages on the timeline). Also the title in the title bar does not change consistently. The strange thing is that it works fine while playing the swf file itself.

View 12 RepliesI am currently building a website and what i need to do is to call external swfs in an empty MC on the index page regarding which buttons of the nav you clicked on.It works, very nicely. But then i need to be able to preload another swf on the index when i click on a thumbnail.
e.g: index load the "who.swf" first. On the who.swf there are 2 thumbnail and when click it must replace the "who.swf" with contact.swf. It works but the only problem is that i cant make the preloader of the index to preload the empty MC which load all the external swf.
Is it because i am using loadMovie and not loadCLip.
I have an index page with several buttons on. When the buttons are clicked, it takes the user to a different point in the timeline and loads the appropriate swf in the UILOader I have on stage.Everything was working fine, but it has suddenly decided to stop working. Now if you click a button on the index page, it loads the relevant swf just fine, but when you go back to the index page and click a different button, the UILoader will not show the corresponding swf and just appear blank, although I know its there as I can hear the sound of the swf playing! I'm not sure if its simply something blocking the swf, but I don't even know what it is! I'm using addChild to add little panels to the screen when a button is pressed, but they are hardly big enough to cover the whole of the UILoader!

I'm creating a banner navigation with quick animation and I just want to PLAY the animation when user visit the page for a first time OR only in homepage (index page).Basically when visitor go to another pages, they won't see the "banner" animation over & over again. How to accomplish this ?

So, for sending to individual streams we have to reference the connected netStream we want to send to in some way like this:
sendStream.peerStreams[0].send("MyFunction",param1,param2);
and I have to determine which peer I'm sending to by their ID such as "peerID1234"
I know that you can check the peerID of the stream by doing:
sendStream.peerStreams[0]["farID"]
how can I make my send stream function know to use the array index where the peerID is?
so basically it could be like:
sendStream.peerStreams[where peerStreams[]["farID"] == peerID].send("MyFunction",param1,param2);
I installed FMS on an standalone Win 2003 server to act only as a service , now when I open the URL ( IP address actually ) of the server it show an introduction page of FMS with a video ( RTMP and HTTP streaming examples ) , so how can I change that , to open to custom page or redirect ... ect ?
