Dec 6, 2010have extensive programming experience in other languages.What I am trying to do should be fairly simple, but I am not able to accomplish it.When a flash video ends I want to redirect the user to a new webpage. This traget webpage will be different based on the query string that is passed.
Example:
Video is embedded on page: /video.php
if query string is: ?redirect_to=xyz[code]....
I think there are 2 options one using Javascript and the other using the load event listener.

May 7, 2009I have a simple Flash animation which I have imported to a page in my DW doc. When the anim finishes, I would like the page to go to a different page in the same site. Without clicking. I assume I have to write some AS on the last frame of my FL file, correct?
Something like this:

Professional :: Animated Index Page Before Moving On To The Home Page?
Jul 11, 2011I have a project for a site that sells fishing lures.I want to have an animated index page before moving on to the home page. My idea is to have a boat sitting on a pond fishing lines in the water, when a fish jumps out of the water, the water ripples, the next time you see the fish it's got a hook in it mouth and jumping out of the water.how do I go about it? How to I create the water rippling? I think with the fish I can do easily enough with it jumping on and off stage. Would I do the water with shape tweens?

(my reason was that the exported flash file always recognised keystrokes as that of an american keyboard and the @ sign came out as this "when you hover over the icons at the bottom which bring up information contained in a button, it falls behind the iframe.is there anyway in which i can make that particular button that contains a movieclip get the next highest z index to go above the iframe?FYI:-i have tried this on the button instance but does not work...

Aug 22, 2009I am using swf files for headers on my website. All has worked well until tonight. If I clear my browsing history in IE then go to my website, the swf does not show on the index page (index page only thus far). If you refresh the browser the file loads fine. The only thing I have changed is I added some css for a navigation bar, which I would not think would effect the swf. You can look at the site at [URL]

Sep 11, 2009For a new site I'm implementing swfaddress to enable deeplinking. Everything works fine when I test the movie in flash. However when I upload the file on the web, the content_mc keeps returning to its first position (the content_mc is a movieclip containing five pages on the timeline). Also the title in the title bar does not change consistently. The strange thing is that it works fine while playing the swf file itself.

May 28, 2008I am currently building a website and what i need to do is to call external swfs in an empty MC on the index page regarding which buttons of the nav you clicked on.It works, very nicely. But then i need to be able to preload another swf on the index when i click on a thumbnail.
e.g: index load the "who.swf" first. On the who.swf there are 2 thumbnail and when click it must replace the "who.swf" with contact.swf. It works but the only problem is that i cant make the preloader of the index to preload the empty MC which load all the external swf.
Is it because i am using loadMovie and not loadCLip.

Oct 18, 2010I have an index page with several buttons on. When the buttons are clicked, it takes the user to a different point in the timeline and loads the appropriate swf in the UILOader I have on stage.Everything was working fine, but it has suddenly decided to stop working. Now if you click a button on the index page, it loads the relevant swf just fine, but when you go back to the index page and click a different button, the UILoader will not show the corresponding swf and just appear blank, although I know its there as I can hear the sound of the swf playing! I'm not sure if its simply something blocking the swf, but I don't even know what it is! I'm using addChild to add little panels to the screen when a button is pressed, but they are hardly big enough to cover the whole of the UILoader!

Jun 11, 2009I seem to have an issue with a flash I have written. The person who I made it for is telling me that first time he loads the page with the Flash in it, it loads fine. However, at this point if he navigates to another portion of the site, then goes back to the Flash page, he says it freezes on the loading bar. Consistently everytime, but only on his work computer, not home computer or lap-top. I think it might be a caching issue in IE, but I am kind of stumped, anyone ever experience this?

and I have to determine which peer I'm sending to by their ID such as "peerID1234"
I know that you can check the peerID of the stream by doing:
sendStream.peerStreams[0]["farID"]
how can I make my send stream function know to use the array index where the peerID is?
so basically it could be like:

Jan 26, 2009i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

May 17, 2011i have an index page (html) that contains an swf and a hyperlink. the hyperlink is set to skip the intro swf and open the main html page. there is no problem there. what i have been trying to find is an event listener that waits till the swf is finished and then goes to the main.html. i found an example that does what i want, but instead of opening a url it uses trace and shows me a message.
