View 2 RepliesWhen the movies performs the getURL action, I want the music to continue playing, but the getURL function seems to stop the music at frame 152 (where the getURL action is placed), when I wanted the music to continue to frame 257 (the end of the movie). I hope I've explained this clearly

View 1 RepliesI'm building a site that has an mp3 player that's available all the time.I'm adding a video page to the site.The videos use an FLVPlayback component.When I leave the video page I want the sound that was playing on that video to stop.I can't use SoundMixer.stopAll() because if I had the mp3 player playing before I went to a page I want it to keep playing.
View 5 RepliesWhat I am trying to do is have multiple play/stop buttons on one page. I've been watching tutorials trying to figure out the best way to do this, but it seems there are so many different ways. I am making the band's name as the play/stop button (one color as play, a different color as stop). I've successfully done that to one button. What I'd like to be able to do is add anywhere from 3-6 songs (all different bands/buttons) per page.
Also, if one song is playing and another song is clicked, I would like to stop the first song and start whatever one is clicked so there aren't multiple songs playing at one time.
And if it's not too much to ask, once one song is either done playing or another is clicked, if it could go back to the first state of the button, that would be amazing.
I will paste my code below for the button I have. If there is a simpler way to do it, I'm totally open to that. Like I said, there seems to be so many ways to do everything, I'm not sure which is best.
var loadSnd:URLRequest = new URLRequest("Song1.mp3");
var thisSnd:Sound = new Sound();
var sndTrans:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel();
thisSnd.load(loadSnd);

I am trying to add a music track to some of the pages of my flash website, I imported the mp3 file to the library and dragged it on the stage and it plays when I test it. I want to add play/stop music button on the page, I dragged buttons from the video components to use, but I have no idea where to start with the code??
View 1 RepliesI have my mp3 audio clip and made my play and stop button. I am using cs4 and as3. I want to have the play and stop button on my main page but still have the music play when the users clicks onto one of the buttons which takes them to a new page.
View 6 RepliesInside my /test folder/music_player/ have have a file called mini_player.swf. If I play it without embedding it anywhere, like this: [URL].. everything is OK. But when I add it into my index page: [URL].. the song doesn't start.

My problem is that whenever I switch frames the music in my flash project restarts and overlaps and sounds incredibly crappy.Is there any way I can make it so that my music opens on my first frame and continues playing through all subsequent frames?
import flash.media.Sound;var channel:SoundChannel;var soundisplaying:Boolean = false;var pausePosition:int = 0var sound:Sound = new acoust();channel = sound.play();

View 1 RepliesSo I am doing a flash intro page, but the intro becomes the home page, as in all the pieces come together to create the Flash home page, so that there is just one file for the home page that includes the intro from Flash..how do I make it so that all the parts on the page stay there indefinitely, because right now after a certain amount of time, they disappear due to using the timeline in Flash.
View 4 RepliesI want a site to have background music, but when I attach the music to the file it makes it quite large ...3 meg and the site is slow to load. Is there any way of having the music separate from the flash file and still have start stop music buttons?
View 2 RepliesI'm working on an animation where I have my "dog" fighting the evil vacuum cleaner. I got most of it to work the way I want it to.
1) I have movie clips entitled pepper_mc (where my dog is supposed to be walking), swirl (where a swirly-type symbol is supposed to spin over the dead vacuum's head), and vacuum_mc (where the evil vacuum is supposed to have a swinging arm (called vacuumarm_mc) that I created using the bone tool). When I add them to the stage and test them, the animations within the movie clips don't happen.
2) I have background music that I'd like to stop playing at the end of the animation, but I'm not sure how to do that. (using the stop(); actionscript doesn't help).Where am I going wrong? I'm using Flash Pro CS5.
Here's the file --> Pepper and the Vacuum of DOOM!
I downloaded a flash template and have modified it to suit our company but there is something that I can't do. When the file loads in the browser, music immediately plays and loops until you click a button to stop the music. On our video page, we have video
that we need to play that has sound in it. How do I get the background music to stop when my video plays without having to go up and stop the music manually. The videos are loaded via an external XML document and there are no buttons in the FLA file to link code to. the website is [URL]
How can I run code in Actionscript 3 when a page with my flash object is.well.I'm not sure of the term.When the webpage is left and the flash applet is exited?
View 2 RepliesI have a site that has multiple video clips on multiple pages. However, once you get a few pages into the site it really bogs down, and I am wondering if it might be that the previous FLV that was playing when you clicked on the button to leave that page, might still be playing in memory or behind the scenes?
I currently have the next page buttons coded with:
Code:
SoundMixer.stopAll();
and the sounds are stopping, but I am wondering if Flash still is using resources to keep the video playing on that frame?
Do I need to unload the video clip, or stop it somehow with the button?
These are external FLV's, NOT embedded in the timeline.
My CPU usage stays between 80-100% and once you click trough a few pages, it really begins to bog down, and stutter, and crash Flash Player.
i am trying to remove a .swf once you leave the index page. unsure of the method "contains" and how to remove the banner var or unload the var
the page variable code is
Code:
var sights:URLRequest=new URLRequest("sights.swf");
this defines the page loader

I deployed a website a couple of days ago which is written entirely in Flash. On one of the pages there is a video which plays in the Flash Player. I have noticed that when I leave the video playing and select a button to take me to another page, the other page comes up but the audio keeps playing from the prior page. Worse yet, if I go back to the page with the Flash Player, it now relaods again and there are two audio tracks. Can someone tell me how this code is solved? There must be some Actionscript 3.0, which I'm using, which kills the player whenever you enter a different page?
View 1 Repliesi'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,
function over(event:MouseEvent):void {
this.gotoAndPlay(30);}
function out(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....
how to do more AS than tweens.I have this script on my MC on frame one
Code:
onClipEvent(enterFrame) {
speed = 17;
this._x -= speed;
}
i have a MC moving across the stage, i tried stopping it with a delete onenterFrame but it will jump and not stop.. my second quesiton is, after i get it to stop, how do i continue the timeline and not repeat frame one,
I created a banner with 9 in and out fading pictures. Also the navigation buttons are located in this banner. When I click on the navigation buttons in the banner and the next page is loaded, the banner starts playing at picture 1 again. Same goes for the navigation outside the banner. Is it possible to make the banner continue when you go to the nexte page? So when I click on a button while picture nmbr3 is showing and I get the next page it still is on picture nmbr 3 and not starting at picture nmbr 1 again.
View 3 RepliesI am a novice and have just completed my first animated movie. The movie is currently looped and I have created and invisible button the size of the frame with the intention that a user can click on the movie image to stop it and on second click continue the movie from where it stopped. I have used the AS event handler method to stop the movie. I have tested it and it works. But I cannot figure suitable code to restart the movie.
Two questions;
1. Am I going about the task the right way? (should I use two buttons, one stop, one start)?
2. If my approach is feasible, can anyone give me the correct AS to re-start the movie and put me out of my misery please?
I have a small flash tidbit that is basically used like a menu. It scrolls through the thumbnails left and right, when clicked the pages navigates to the appropriate location. However, the flash movie jumps back to the beginning of the movie. Is there anyway I can get it to stay in the same spot when the page is changed? I tried using iframes, but this did not work out, it had the same result. ref:[URL] to see the problem scroll the images to the right and select 'wall boarder buddy' (fourth image from the left) this takes you the page and the flash resets to its original position.

One of the things I need to do is make the music turn off when you click 'musicff'. It doesn't work at the minute and for the life of me I can't seem to figure it out. Below is the coding on one of the frames [code]...
I have a movieclip which has this script attached to it (plays a soundclip on hover) - problem is that if I move the mouse out I need to stop the soundclip. Right now it just starts again while its still playing (on mouse over) == not good.
I tried to make a MOUSE_OUT event and a .stop(); but it does not seem to work.

import flash.media.SoundChannel;

I have a static page and have set a button to play a certain .mp3 file.The problem is, I can't figure out how to stop the sound, let say, pressing the same button again (and then pressing it again will start the sound all over again... which would be very useful)? I have 1 frame and 2 layers - a background .jpg and 2nd for play button, and actionscript for the button symbol so far:
ActionScript Code:
on(release)

The following code plays music when the H key is being pressed and when is unpressed the music stops...the problem im having is that its re-playing the music for every milisecond the H key is being pressed so its creating an endless loop of the sound1, how may I change the code to only play once the sound1 while the H key is being pressed and stop when is unpressed[code]...
View 1 Replieshow do i stop the music from looping in the code below???// Written.. View 1 RepliesWhen i zoom into the page then move around the edge of the page can be moved past the edge of the browser window showing the static page which appears at the start of the document. Is it possible to use actionscript to stop the page being dragged past a certain point so the static page is not seen? On the example below the static page is white so it does not pose too much of a problem however im using the static page as a sort of instruction page and it looks a bit rubbish if the user drags a page past the edge of the view window and see's the original page. Example below. [URL]
