I'm building a site that has an mp3 player that's available all the time.I'm adding a video page to the site.The videos use an FLVPlayback component.When I leave the video page I want the sound that was playing on that video to stop.I can't use SoundMixer.stopAll() because if I had the mp3 player playing before I went to a page I want it to keep playing.

View 2 RepliesI'm working on a pretty basic interactive children's book. I have it set up so that each page has audio relating to that specific page. Going forward, there is no issue with sound overlapping from the current and next pages. Going backward, however, there is an issue with sound playing on both the current and previous pages. How do I stop this?

The website has buttons to navigate on each page. Each page has a sound. I tried the embed and external but when I click on a button to navigate to another page but the sound from the previous page is still there which overlaps on the next page's sound.
How can I make the music from the current page stop when going to the next page? I want the next page's sound to play and not have both sounds play at the same time.
I have tried whatever.stop();, SoundMixer, and everything in the Internet for the past 2 days and I still can't make something very basic as changing music work.
for example i have a two pages, in page 1 theres a sound thats playing, but if i will try and go to page 2 the sound will stop, but if i will go back to page 1 the sound will be played again..

I ran into a bit of a problem, I made my flash movie and everything was good. I added a welcome video with sound that plays when the user opens the website, my only problem is that when you click on the other pages the video and sound keep playing even if you see the other page.
How do I get that video with sound to stop once you go away fro the page and go to another page?
im currently building a site with 3 buttons and each buttons loads an external swf for each section of the site on a empty movie clip, im having an issue with the video section that has an video thumb gallery loading flv videos,
every time i try to go somewhere else in the site, the video sound continues to play (loop) behind the scene.

View 9 RepliesI have a flash video (.flv) that auto plays upon page entry... and the user also has the ability to view a second video (by clicking on link on webpage)... it opens a SOLIDBOX (similar to floatbox) window and plays the second video... which is great.
But unfortunately the AUDIO/Video from the initial video (behind solidbox POP UP) is still playing. A savvy user would realize this and stop the other video, but unfortunately, to make it user friendly for our customers, we need it to automatically stop the initial video.
How can this be accomplished? How can i stop the initial video when the link on the webpage is clicked (opening the pop up with second video playing)?

I am loading swf's that have an flv embedded on the timeline. When the user selects from the menu I unload the swf and load another. This is working fine, but the audio from the first swf's video keeps playing. How can I kill this first videos audio track?

I tried removing the event listener but i cant get it to work
View 3 RepliesI'm looking for a (simple) way to make the vidplayer to stop playing when moving from one page to another one (on the same timeline hey). As it is right now if you start to watch a video and don't push the stop button before going to another page it keeps playing - hence you still hear the sound playing in the background while you're actually looking at another page. And that's not good.

How can i stop an swf video file from starting when the page is opened in browser? Under the publish settings i click on (paused at start) . This doesn't seem to have any affect on whether the video starts when the page is opened.

However, once you get a few pages into the site it really bogs down, and I am wondering if it might be that the previous FLV that was playing when you clicked on the button to leave that page, might still be playing in memory or behind the scenes?
I currently have the next page buttons coded with:

and the sounds are stopping, but I am wondering if Flash still is using resources to keep the video playing on that frame?
Do I need to unload the video clip, or stop it somehow with the button?
These are external FLV's, NOT embedded in the timeline.
My CPU usage stays between 80-100% and once you click trough a few pages, it really begins to bog down, and stutter, and crash Flash Player.
i am trying to remove a .swf once you leave the index page. unsure of the method "contains" and how to remove the banner var or unload the var

So I've got a code, but I just get an error sayign tanmovstop() does not have a body. I'm very new to action script so am very lost! I'll be extremely grateful. The code on the sites main buttons is as follows, with tanmov being the movie whos sound I want to stop:

View 6 RepliesI deployed a website a couple of days ago which is written entirely in Flash. On one of the pages there is a video which plays in the Flash Player. I have noticed that when I leave the video playing and select a button to take me to another page, the other page comes up but the audio keeps playing from the prior page. Worse yet, if I go back to the page with the Flash Player, it now relaods again and there are two audio tracks. Can someone tell me how this code is solved? There must be some Actionscript 3.0, which I'm using, which kills the player whenever you enter a different page?

View 1 RepliesI've been making the transition from AS2 to AS3 for the last week and am making progress. But I'm having a problem that hopefully someone can help me with. I'm using Flash CS5. I have a fairly simple Flash website I'm working on. I have sections on the timeline like Home, About, Photos, Media ... all set up using labels for each of those sections. Everything is working fine but when I go to my Media section where I have a video placed (using the flv component) I'm having a problem as follows:
The video auto plays fine when I go to the Media section but when I attempt to leave the section and go to another the sound of the video doesn't stop. It continues to play when I go to another section and if I go back to the section it starts again. The video is not there when I go to another section which is the part that's confusing me. In AS2 when I did this the video and the sound both stopped because you went to another section on the timeline. Why is the sound of the video not stopping in AS3?
i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

i have a video that appears when looking at my 'Other' page. But when i click onto a different page i see the new page but can still hear the videos sound. how to stop the video when you leave that page?

But if I click on another page, the sound is still playing on the video until it is over. I found a temporary solution by putting in the code to STOP ALL. This make it work how it should. But the thing is I want background music, and with the code I have know the music would shut off every time I go to another page. Is there any code where I could just shut the sound off for that video when I click on something else and not ALL sound?

View 3 RepliesI have a problem with my slideshow script. I have embedding a flash video file into my website with this slideshow called monoslideshow, and everything seems to work perfectly. Trouble is, when I am clicking on another menu button that should jump to another frame, it still keeps playing the video and sound while displaying the new menu data.So I will probably need some code that stops the video instantly, when another menu button is clicked. But how do I write it and where do I put it?

In the cosmicpanda update for youtube, you can go from a video page to the video creators profile page while your video is still playing in flash. Does anyone how Youtube accomplishes this? I would like to know if it's possible to keep the flash state of a site constant while moving from page to page on a site.It doesn't seem as if the flash is reloading, so I don't think that they are just saving cookies for the current video time and starting the video at that point when they refresh.I would assume that they're using ajax, but the application of this feature is really clean. The URL gets correctly changed to the users' profile page's URL. The back button still works as it should. (I can press back and forward between video page and user profile page and the video continues going clean and never drops.)
