May 11, 2010I know how to make a video (instanced as showreel) stop when clicking on a button that that navigates to another section/frame, since otherwise I would still listen to that video while not visible. The problem is when I'm in another frame that doesn't have that video, when clicking on the menu to go to whichever other frame, it looks for that it to stop if it's playing and it and doesn't find it, and so there's an error.
How can solve this? Maybe I should put an order saying something like if there exists a video in that frame instanced as sowreel, stop it, otherwise don't do anything as there is nothing to be stopped. Or assign the order to the frame (which is called motion), but I don't know how to do that, can someone help? The code I have is:

Aug 7, 2009It is for a portfolio for school, in the case that you wanted to know. I have created a frame in the FLT thatis for videos. I have called a net connection to load a video locally when a custom button is CLICKed, and i have made a custom button to pause said video, and play again, using togglePause
My problem is, once the video is started (using play) and if the user navigates away from this video page, (which means they are a jerk/ass for not finishing my video) the audio will continue playing, as the video has been loaded and is not through executing. I want this net connection to end once navigating away from the page, if necessary. I have tried calling an EventListener(EXIT_FRAME) but errors upon outcome follow.

I ran into a bit of a problem, I made my flash movie and everything was good. I added a welcome video with sound that plays when the user opens the website, my only problem is that when you click on the other pages the video and sound keep playing even if you see the other page.
How do I get that video with sound to stop once you go away fro the page and go to another page?

Mar 17, 2009I'm looking for a (simple) way to make the vidplayer to stop playing when moving from one page to another one (on the same timeline hey). As it is right now if you start to watch a video and don't push the stop button before going to another page it keeps playing - hence you still hear the sound playing in the background while you're actually looking at another page. And that's not good.

Aug 5, 2009The situation is I have a number of pages with a single movie clip on each, however once the movie is playing and you click the home or contact buttons for example, it will go to the correct page but the movies sound keep playing in the background. So I've got a code, but I just get an error sayign tanmovstop() does not have a body. I'm very new to action script so am very lost! I'll be extremely grateful. Jul 27, 2010I have a movie that has an intro to it. It also has buttons that take them to subsequent pages. Once they go back, I'd like the intro portion of the movie to not play. In other words, I'd like it to start at a particular frame after the initial visit to it.
I think this can be done with Local Shared Objects, but I haven't quite figured out how exactly.

Apr 19, 2011Maybe someone has some insite on this before I open an artery. I have a timeline, seperated into sections. The navigation targets frame labels. On one of those keyframes there is a flv. When you play that video and then navigate to another frame without stopping the video, it continues to play. I've tried giving it an instance name and adding a stop action to it that resides in the button functions so when it navigtaes to another frame it would stop. However, when I click on any button and the movie is not currently playing, I get a error message that reads TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. I assume it is looking for something that is not currently there. It has been suggested that I use the SoundMixer.stopAll() but that removes any background music currently playing.
Do I need some kind of conditional statement that detects if the flv is currently playing?
Can FLV be controlled with a simple instancename.stop() ?

Jan 26, 2009i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

Jun 25, 2009I am having a problem with the video on my website. I put a couple of videos on there and I have them working. But if I click on another page, the sound is still playing on the video until it is over. I found a temporary solution by putting in the code to STOP ALL. This make it work how it should. But the thing is I want background music, and with the code I have know the music would shut off every time I go to another page. Is there any code where I could just shut the sound off for that video when I click on something else and not ALL sound?

Java :: Youtube Keep Flash Video Playing / When Go To Users Profile Page From Video Page?
Aug 31, 2011In the cosmicpanda update for youtube, you can go from a video page to the video creators profile page while your video is still playing in flash. Does anyone how Youtube accomplishes this? I would like to know if it's possible to keep the flash state of a site constant while moving from page to page on a site.It doesn't seem as if the flash is reloading, so I don't think that they are just saving cookies for the current video time and starting the video at that point when they refresh.I would assume that they're using ajax, but the application of this feature is really clean. The URL gets correctly changed to the users' profile page's URL. The back button still works as it should. (I can press back and forward between video page and user profile page and the video continues going clean and never drops.)

Apr 29, 2011I imported a video in my "about me" section of my website with a skin chosen from within flash. However, when I click within another section of my website, for example "Home" and go back to the "about me" section, the video starts playing automaticly. If your speakers are turned all the way up, you will jump.
What is the code I need to add to my video's actions layer to stop the video from playing automaticly and give the the user the ability to play the video themselves?
And what would be the code if I wanted to reduce the volume at 50% for example but have the video play automaticly?
Professional :: Export To .mov Leaving Artifacts Everywhere
Feb 17, 2011I have made a simple animation with music, 800ish frames, no actionscript, using CS4 When I export it as a Quicktime Mov it breaks up and leaves artifacts everywhere, I read that the spec of your mac can affect the export but I'm working on a mac pro with 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad core Xeon and 16GB Ram so I very much doubt its that. The only other forums I've seen (working) answers on are ones where you save the video and audio separately and rebuild it in after effects or something similar but I do not have that software (and surely you should'nt have to do all that). I need to import the movie into iMovie to add to another piece of film.

But... if you click on one of the videos below... I keep talking over the top of the new video.
Is there a way to "tell target" the one video to stop playing from the action of clicking play on the other video so I stop talking the minute any button on the page is pressed?
I am using AS3 with the FLV Playback component for all these videos.

Jan 4, 2011I am trying to import a video in to flash. I have converted it to a flv and used the stream from flash media server option and selected a standard play and stop bar. I have imported it in and it works find when you just select the individual swf that it loads into. The problem im having is that when I go to it through the home page, all the page loads apart from the video. I've tried moving it around, moving where all the assets to the video are etc. I know the file structure is important to this working. I have a main folder called interactive / and in that have a FLA and a SWF folder and the swf and fla home page. Currently I have the the video swf in the swf folder with the flv and the play and stop swf.
