ActionScript 3.0 :: Stop Sound On Current Page When Going To Previous Page?

Oct 19, 2010

I'm working on a pretty basic interactive children's book. I have it set up so that each page has audio relating to that specific page. Going forward, there is no issue with sound overlapping from the current and next pages. Going backward, however, there is an issue with sound playing on both the current and previous pages. How do I stop this?

Here is the script I'm using-

ActionScript Code:
stop();
import flash.events.MouseEvent;

ActionScript 3.0 :: Gallery Page With A Bunch Of Page Numbers - Click On A Page Number, The Over Script Should Stop Until Go To Another Page?

Jan 26, 2009

i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

function over(event:MouseEvent):void {
this.gotoAndPlay(30);}
function out(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....

Professional :: Preloading An HTML / Flash Page On PREVIOUS Page

Jul 1, 2010

I have a site where all the pages have a common SWF embedded at the top (Nav and banner), but the rest of the page is HTML.Everything is working fine, but I'm finding the 'independence' between the HTML and Flash is making for some sloppy transitions from page to page.I was expecting the SWF to be delayed, at least for the first page visit(and I have a preload routine inside the swf to make it's delay and appearance a bit more visually pleasant), but was surprised to sometimes find the SWF appearing and playing while the HTML content was delayed (resulting in a SWF floating in black).What I'm wondering is if there's a way I can do some sort of preload on my index page.BUT, not the standard one that I'm sure everyone would suggest (like the javascript image 'preload', or the newer 'css visibility' preload trick). The problem with the standard one is that it doesn't check to see if everything is loaded.What I'm after is a routine on my index page that invisibly loads some of the elements from my inner pages (common swf, maybe some of the images) and WAITS until it's done before moving to the inner pages (displaying the company logo and/or a load status in the meantime).Many people would suggest a preloader inside the common SWF on my inner pages (which I have), but the problem with that on its own is that it doesn't stop the HTML from displaying.

I'm trying to figure out a way to do a preloader (like those in a SWF, which loops until everything is loaded) that controls both the SWF AND the HTML.Recently, I found that you can use one swf to preload another, which would be a potential solution, as I could make an SWF on the index page whose sole purpose is to load (invisibly) the common SWF, displaying the load status and then loading an inner html page once it's done.Problem is, I have bee having trouble finding the coding for that, as most searches for preloaders end up being about standard preloaders, where it's monitoring the same SWF that the code is on, as opposed to controlling a second, external SWF.Can someone point me to or provide me with the proper coding/procedure for a preloader that controlls a second external swf or give me a better solution?

IDE :: Stop Sound On Next Frame/page?

Apr 5, 2010

The website has buttons to navigate on each page. Each page has a sound. I tried the embed and external but when I click on a button to navigate to another page but the sound from the previous page is still there which overlaps on the next page's sound.

How can I make the music from the current page stop when going to the next page? I want the next page's sound to play and not have both sounds play at the same time.

I have tried whatever.stop();, SoundMixer, and everything in the Internet for the past 2 days and I still can't make something very basic as changing music work.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Stop Previous MovieClip Sound When Moved To Next One?

Aug 2, 2010

I have made an animation consisting of 7 different MC's - each accessed by a hidden button. When I play the individual swf files, with sounds, they work fine. When I place them on the main timeline and export the swf, as soon as I click on any of the buttons, ALL the music/sounds play no matter what MC I'm playing. It is a cacophony of sound that I need to fix before 10th August - when I need to hand the project into University for marking.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Highlighting Current Page In Navigation?

Dec 14, 2006

I want to highlight the current page in my navigation.

I have the code below (duplicated for each button on the page) which changes the colour of the text in the nav when you rollover and then back when you rollout. I'd like to have the text stay on the rollover colour if it is the current page.

I've been messing around with variables and have added the bit onto the onRelease function which displays the "page" variable in a dynamic text box. This works fine, but I'm now stuck on how to use this variable, everything I've tried hasn't worked.

I can understand the principle of what I want to do as I can do it in PHP or CSS. I need some kind of conditional statement, for example (in laymans terms):

if page equals 1 then make text colour red or if page equals 2 then make text colour red and so on...

Code:
var up = "0xC5B9B3";
var over = "0xC6006F";
_root.nav.button_1.onRollOut = function() {
