I've used a example mp3 lpayer built in flash to put on my website. I've tweaked it so that it fits my design and it seems to work ok. The problem is the music starts playing automatically where ideally i want it to play when the user hits the play button.
Below is the actionscript, can any1 tell me how to stop it playing as soon as the flah file loads?

It is perfect, except that I'm not sure how to keep it from playing automatically. I tried removing the playSong() part under the loadSong function and it just removes the ability to play the song altogether. Here is the code:

I have a swf loading in another swf that has a video player in it. When I remove the swf from the stage, the swf goes away but the audio from the swf keeps playing. Is there a way to tell that swf to stop playing from the parent swf?

View 3 RepliesI built a timeline based player with 2 menus and many videos that you can play.The buttons move the timeline to a frame label and the video plays. The back button has a stop function built in it so the video stops playing when its hit.It plays wonderfully locally but once on a server after a few clicks it boggs down and sometimes the audio from the last video remains playing even when prompted to stop. I was pointed to use the add and remove child functions to prevent this but being very new to Flash and 100% self taught i have zero idea on how to do this. I have produced an app for iOS but when it loads the music from the iPhone doesn't stop.
I have read on forums that if an app contains sounds that the iPod will fade out but it doesn't for me. I have tried loading the sounds dynamically (these sounds don't play at all if the iPod is playing) and embedding them into the movie. Nothing seems to work sadly. I have ensured that I have all the recent updates for flash and the air packager and I can't find a solution to this anywhere.
On my main SWF Home File i have 2 swf files are loaded into my (main home swf) and everything is runing smooth BUT the problem is when i want to watch the video the music is still playing i have to click on the button to stop music playing.

View 1 RepliesI have got three screenshots below of Flash-based audio players on various websites that draw a waveform of the clip it is going to play and moves along while it is playing and also allowing the user to click on a point on the audio file and it jumps to that point.I have very little Flash knowledge but is this easy to achieve? I would like to just show the Flash file an mp3 and it draws the waveform. I understand this could be quite intensive on CPU so would there be a way of caching the waveform data so it doesn't redraw each time the file is loaded?

i am building a flash web site using the goto and stop method, with each "page" of the website being a different frame. on one page i have a music player, and it all works fine, and if you press stop before leaving that "page" or frame it all works well.the problem i've run into is if you go to another frame while the music player is still playing the music continues playing and when you go back to the frame the music player is on and press stop it doesnt do anything and if you press play it will start playing the song again with both songs playing over eachother.how to stop the music from playing when you exit that frame. here's the code for the music player:

I imported a video in my "about me" section of my website with a skin chosen from within flash. However, when I click within another section of my website, for example "Home" and go back to the "about me" section, the video starts playing automaticly. If your speakers are turned all the way up, you will jump.
What is the code I need to add to my video's actions layer to stop the video from playing automaticly and give the the user the ability to play the video themselves?
And what would be the code if I wanted to reduce the volume at 50% for example but have the video play automaticly?
I've been messing with this for almost six hours now and am at the end of my wits. I need a flash mp3 player that follows the following guidelines:
*all encased within its own movie clip
*loads four different songs, one after the other (event)
*each song displays its own loader
*user scrolls through song selection and plays available (loaded) ones
*first song plays when loaded and continues to the others
any tips on where to go with this? do I create four different sound objects since later songs are loading while the first are playing?
I made a simple audio player following a tutorial on Youtube. It seems pretty good, except that the tutorial just starts and stops the sound file. I need it to be playing and for it to pause and resume.As it stands now, the music does play, but the pause button does nothing.Here is the script:

View 1 RepliesI have a section of a site that has a voice over when you get to a page. I have a play/pause button that works fine, and plays and pauses the audio voice over. I have about 9 other buttons on this page that all have 'SoundMixer.stopAll();' in order to stop the embedded audio. This works the first time you click a button, but any button after that restarts the embedded audio.
Is there a way to make it so that Flash knows not to restart the embedded audio?
Do I need to make a sound variable and set it to 'false'. I am not sure what to do, or how to do it.
I just need something simple, where there is only pause, play and stop buttons. I usually load the music within the flash movie and play from there, but I would like to build one where if you press play, the music loads and plays streaming on the spot.
