Create A Music Player In Flash That Creates A Waveform Of The Audio File?
Jan 16, 2010
I have got three screenshots below of Flash-based audio players on various websites that draw a waveform of the clip it is going to play and moves along while it is playing and also allowing the user to click on a point on the audio file and it jumps to that point.I have very little Flash knowledge but is this easy to achieve? I would like to just show the Flash file an mp3 and it draws the waveform. I understand this could be quite intensive on CPU so would there be a way of caching the waveform data so it doesn't redraw each time the file is loaded?
I'm trying to stream *.wav files on a webpage and looking for a flash program which will show the full audio waveforms. Something like this: How to do this? Again, streamings not the heard part, I just need to allow users to see the waveform timeline.
I was trying to make a media player with AS3 coding.. I know how to make play, pause, next buttons etc.. And i also learned to load playlist from a XML file (created mannually)..What i actually need is to browse the computer and select multiple files and add those files to a playlist.. All these must be done with the media player itself(not manually typing the XML data).. XML file dynamically by selecting the music files, using the player.. Or is there some other method to create playlist without making the XML?..
Background: I am trying to create a website that is easily updateable by a non-html savy user. I figure I can load the content of my flash page from a notepad file within the same directory.I would prefer to not make the editor use a FTP program, so I figure the best method is a webpage where the person can log in and type the updated text and have it create a new notepad file and overwrite the old one. I am not sure if this is technically flash or simply a html question, but does anyone know how to go about doing this
I'm looking for a (free) flash player that I can embed in my site and use to play a .m4a (.mp4 with AAC audio) file that will be obtained using a URL (i.e. it's not local to the server hosting the web page).I've tried searching on google for one, but either I'm searching wrong or no one has made such a thing. Ideally this would be very simple (small user interface with play button and maybe a progress bar) and it would be easy to have multiple instances of on an html page (can create the player with an <object> tag).
Im trying to create a flash music player much like the one at [URL].. but I cant seem to get it to load the swf files that are the songs and im stumped as to why. Ill post my player .fla and .txt file playlist along with my test swf song if anyone
I'm by no means up on my AS at all and this MP3 player I've had for a while and just readjusted to suit my needs.
One thing i really want to change is the fact the music starts automatically. I changed line 38 from True to False which does indeed stop the music playing on load but instead i get "Loading" and it doesn't do anything after that. Hitting play won't work.[code]...

Code: stop(); playlist = new XML(); playlist.ignoreWhite = true;
(I have on a server an mp3, and the server is HTTPS that requires an certificate and a key (TLS) and I need to get that mp3 on flash)I found some classes (Crypto) but there the TLS it's only partial implemented and support for client-side certificates is not implemented yet.So maybe some of you worked with this and you know more things about it.f you don't know many things about the TLS security how can I protect from download my music that is played with an AS3 audio player on my website
I am unable to visualize the audio waveform in my flash timeline. I need to synchronize audio voiceover work and this is impossible to do without being able to see the timeline.
I am using CS4.....in previous versions I was able to see the waveform but no go for this version.....
I'm making a audio recorder with Adobe Flex (Microphone, NetStream), I want to get the current audio wave from Microphone to display in the visualization area, how can i get the data?
I'm trying to create a visual waveform for an MP3. The code I've included is called on successful load of the MP3. I intend to extract just a few important samples from the sound to create the waveform, rather than extract the entire sound into a bytearray. Even on a good machine, extracting an entire song can cause flash to freeze up for 3-5 seconds (or longer!). For my purposes, this isn't feasible.
Unfortunately, the code I've got below is failing to produce any numbers. If I extract the entire song it functions, but extraction of just the key points is giving me nothing. Does performing an extract make the remainder of the sound object invalid for future extracts? If so, is there some way around this that won't freeze flash for an extended period of time during the extract? Some important variables from the rest of the code:
I am new to AS3, and I am trying to make an XML music player. For reasons unknown, the music player that I have coded (GUI was made an placed on the stage, so coding for those are not included.) will not display text or play the music. The code I have so far is:
var my_songs:XMLList; var my_total:Number; var my_sound:Sound;[code]....
I wanted to create an interesting music player that would show an animation that would basically open like a door, then show you buttons for each song to be played. I made the music play by creating the buttons with the music in the "Down" frame of the button. This worked great, it played my music and played music when you pressed another button. However the problem lies with having music playing and clicking on another button. Both songs play at the same time.
To fix it I looked around to find a command that would stop all music playing when any button was clicked so that when music was playing, and you clicked a button for another song, the previous song would stop playing, and play the next song. However all the commands I tried gave me errors, or they made the button unable to start the song.
I've got a flash player (using JWPlayer) that plays an audio file. The file plays fine. How do I provide the embed code for end-users to copy, so they can post the player and play the audio file on their own site directly? Should I be using HTML <pre> tags somewhere? Or JavaScript to generate the embed code / link?
I'm trying to force the Flash player to play video files without showing screens. I did try to set vidDisplay.visible to false. But it seemed not working at all.I was doing was try to build a generic media player. Whatever the source is(audio or video), the control panel always the same, namely, a mp3 player panel is always displayed:However, when I stream in a video file, it would end up overriding mp3 panel with a partial video screen. I don't have enough reputation to upload images...
I'm looking to create a music player where one can upload songs from any computer on the web and play them back... is this possible and if so how would I go about creating it?
I am trying to stream audio to my flash application. I got it working with a test MP3 file. But the problem is that MP3 encoders are protected by patents and require license fees.(I am living in Canada) Isn't there a open audio file format supported by flash?
I've been messing with this for almost six hours now and am at the end of my wits. I need a flash mp3 player that follows the following guidelines:
*all encased within its own movie clip *loads four different songs, one after the other (event) *each song displays its own loader *user scrolls through song selection and plays available (loaded) ones *first song plays when loaded and continues to the others
any tips on where to go with this? do I create four different sound objects since later songs are loading while the first are playing?
I want a site to have background music, but when I attach the music to the file it makes it quite large ...3 meg and the site is slow to load. Is there any way of having the music separate from the flash file and still have start stop music buttons?
Everything works perfect but i need to change the way the MP3 file is called on. I'm brand new with AS3 and XML but have a PHP background so I attempted to understand the script and have not had any luck. The index.htm file displays a very simple music player which calls on the button_mp3_player SWF. The FLA has a portion of code that calls on an XML file to load a particular song. What I need to do is remove the XML file completely and define the MP3 file name in the index.htm. I assume some AS3 code needs to be altered so that it does not call on the XML and also that the index.htm code needs to be altered to define the MP3.
need to create a player to stream audio files (mp3 and other audio extentions) in my website. To create this player I used flash cs3 and actionscript3.I found actionscript 2 is easyer to creat and get duration (mysound.duration) but in ac3 I can't get sound duration with this syntext : "mySound.duration"attention : In ActionScript3 BEFORE loading is completed , I need my audio file in player to show duration and displayed minute and second in the stage.I tried so many solutions in the internet but all of them provide sound duration AFTER loading is Completed (but I need sound duration BEFORE loading is Completed)attention : My audio files are multi bitrate rang exp.(24 kbs , 34kbs , 128kbs or higher).I am trying to get audio DURATION of audio "total bytes" but these solutions just are right for only 128kbs audios.
My server is streaming binary audio data (mostly mp3 files) to a client (a browser). This client stores the audio data in memory.
What I'm looking for is a flash audio player that I can input the binary audio data so that it can play the audio file.
Preferably, the flash client is merely a bridge to Javascript so that I can handle everything in Javascript and simply use Flash's audio features, but this is not a requirement.
I am trying to create a music animator. It will have bars that move up and down do the beat of the music. This is like windows media player where the music animations play. I want it to be verticle bars, where some are in sync with like the base and others are in sync with the tempo. Does anyone know of a tutorial for this? I am trying to emplement it within my website so that whatever music I am playing will auto control the bars and sync.
