I created a fla file, which contains multi-layer movie clip. When I double-click the the flash movie, something funny is happening - there pops up another window, which is windows explorer, and it is showing the directory oin which the flash movie file is situated. And if I close the flash movie and double click it again - another windows explorer pops up.

I was wondering if you can make an eventlistener to trigger to execute a function when the window/tab viewing the swf is closed. I searched around, and there seems to be a way to do this with flash.external class and javascript, but some users have javascript disabled, so is there a way to achieve this without javascript?

The .bat file is in the same folder AND has an edited copy in a folder called "fscommands", both of which work. The problem is in the flash file. I attached the code to a button (of course), but when I click it nothing happens.
If I write a bunch of functions in a js file and host it on [URL], how can I use getURL() to make whoever sees my flash on the same host to execute the js file?

But on a pc that has player 10.0.32.18 installed throws the error below. TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at main_fla::MainTimeline/mouseLeave() This error is thrown out only when I try to call a function inside of loaded swf that is on the stage.

When I place some codes in a keyframe, these codes are showing on all the following frames up till the next keyframe with codes. My question is, does Flash execute codes only in the keyframe or it execute whatever is in the frame regardless whether its a keyframe or not?

View 6 RepliesI'm currently making an animation which will eventually exceed the 16,000 frame limit (don't ask haha), so, short of making two movies and having to just start up the next one, what is the code for loading a movie? I presume they need to be in the same directory? So basically all I want is on the last frame of the movie the code executes and the second movie file opens up and starts. I guess I'd want the current movie to close, too.

First of all I have been following some tutorials using CS5 and when viewing the created animation in test movie or by double clicking the SWF file they would open full screen. However I have followed a different tutorial and created another file using CS3, and this will not go to full screen.
(White bars appear either side of the animation). This has also happened with another animation, on which I have created a butterfly that moves across the stage, when viewing the animation, you can see where the butterfly goes off the stage. (You can literally see it, even though you shouldn't be able to). Making the files the same resolution makes no difference, as I have tried this, and I'm not really sure what to do next. I have even tried opening this newer file within cs5, but this still does not work.

View 8 RepliesI have Flash CS4 10.0.1.545 Mac with OS X 10.5.6: I have the standard Workspace and when I select Import to import an image, the open file dialog in OS X slides down from the top of the stage and the entire Flash window that is holding my timeline and stage moves down about 100 pixels. I then import, then I click the top of the window to move it back up and it snaps back instantly as soon as I click on it before I drag it up.

I'm getting an anoying problem in IE6.02 when trying to download a file through flex + struts action, the browser opens a new window and doesn't close it after the download has finished.
