3-I read a previous answer on this that gives the following code which I inserted right on the same frame that my flv is loaded.I named the instance name of this flv as "flv"
It isn't working.Here is the code I picked up on previous forum:So I put this on the frame where the flv is loaded which is scene 2 frame 1 and instance name of flv.

Basically I am trying to forward a download to another URL but at the same time I need to be able to set headers like "filename".
The readfile($file) function will not do it for me, because the the $file is not stored on the same server as the PHP script (not even the same datacenter) Is this even possible ? If not via PHP, maybe FLASH could do this ?

Feb 4, 2010I have a swf file, which handels some xml data. After that process complets I am giving the data back to my rails server. My problem is, that any redirection in my rails app is handed ower to the swf file and the actual displayed page remains the same!

Keeping them in sync is annoying, so I'd like to be able to have just one crossdomain.xml file hosted somewhere, and then http redirect (302) all the requests to that central location. Is this possible? I can't find documentation anywhere on the web about the rules.

Jun 29, 2011I have a SWF embedded in an HTML file. After the movie has finished playing, I want a new URL to load. I currently have the following code in the final keyframe of my actions layer: navigateToURL(new URLRequest ([URL]) ); ...which works, but the problem is that it opens up a new window for the new URL instead of redirecting within the same window, which is what I'd prefer. Is there a different command that I can use to force the new link to open in the same window? I guess I could use a Javascript redirect within the web page's HTML, but it seems safer to me to use Actionscript within the Flash movie.

Dec 2, 2010im having no luck with this at all. im building a site for my company, building and selling homes. ive made a website in flash, nothing too complex, ive also made a pdf in indesing, which when published left me put a page turing feature on it, and that pdf was then published as a swf file. its put all the code in for me automatically so the people can now interact and page turn it.i simply want a button/link i can put on my site to open this swf in its own browser window or in a flash player window. this code in previous versions of flash has been easy...on release etc but now with as 3.0 i see people using child, navigatetourl, its so confusing and every example ive found just doesnt seem to work

Jul 19, 2010I'm having a problem with it that I can't seem to find the solution to. First of all I have been following some tutorials using CS5 and when viewing the created animation in test movie or by double clicking the SWF file they would open full screen. However I have followed a different tutorial and created another file using CS3, and this will not go to full screen.
(White bars appear either side of the animation). This has also happened with another animation, on which I have created a butterfly that moves across the stage, when viewing the animation, you can see where the butterfly goes off the stage. (You can literally see it, even though you shouldn't be able to). Making the files the same resolution makes no difference, as I have tried this, and I'm not really sure what to do next. I have even tried opening this newer file within cs5, but this still does not work.

When I double-click the the flash movie, something funny is happening - there pops up another window, which is windows explorer, and it is showing the directory oin which the flash movie file is situated. And if I close the flash movie and double click it again - another windows explorer pops up.

May 2, 2009I have Flash CS4 10.0.1.545 Mac with OS X 10.5.6: I have the standard Workspace and when I select Import to import an image, the open file dialog in OS X slides down from the top of the stage and the entire Flash window that is holding my timeline and stage moves down about 100 pixels. I then import, then I click the top of the window to move it back up and it snaps back instantly as soon as I click on it before I drag it up.

Jun 1, 2007I'm constructing an enhanced CD menu in Flash. I'm going to be including some desktop backgrounds that I would like people to be able to click on and then save the file from the CD to a location of their choice.
Is there a way to do this - access the files system as you would when you choose a file to upload but instead are choosing a location to save that file too? And then copy the file from a Cd location to this chosen loaction.
Or alternatively is there a way to just open a pop up file window in a certain location.

Feb 4, 2010I am trying to write a class file using a .as file instead of writing code into the script tab of a .fla file.When I write stage.addChild(img); I get an error that stage is null. When I take out stage, and just write addChild(img); the code runs fine, but nothing appears on stage. Do I need to do something to set a stage active?
Is this because I don't have a Main class? My class is named after the file and I don't have a file named Main.Here is the code. As it is, it runs and I get the two trace outputs, but no graphic on my screen.
