View 3 RepliesI have a problem with truetype font "DaxComp-Medi" and with some timeline and actionscript positioning. I have a mc in which I have another mc in which I have a circle in which I need to put the text in the center but that is not that easy.
Structure:

So is there some way in as3 to get those numbers in the center of the (white) circles?
Do I need to convert the TextFields in to the BitmapData (how?), find positions of pixel that has some black color (How?), draw rectangle with that information, copy x and y point of the rectangle, center the rectangle in the circle, calculate offset x and y from the rectangles new position and add them the textfield x and y?
I would like to have one movieclip over the top of other attached ones. I have tried getNextHighestDepth on the movieclip, but it still doesn't work. Here is my code for attaching the movieclips:

When I make subtle changes, I don't always want to preview my movie from the beginning, and when the movie gets long, it takes a while to make small changes when I have to preview my movie every 5 seconds.
So is there anyway to preview my movie from a certain spot in my animation?

I'm building a website here and It's a fullscreen flash site. Everything is grouped into an MC on the main timeline. This main MC has a Navigation MC with buttons in it and a Content MC. And I'm using this code on the MC to keep it all centered in the browser:

And when I run this swf in an html file, it doesn't center in the middle of the browser... It's way over to the right. It just wont stay in the center of the browser window like its supposed to...
I have simple sliding pages mechanism in my flash file, all done with AS3 code. Now the pages, which are movieclips, are slid off the screen on a button press. Sometimes, everything goes smoothly, but on some people's computers the sliding pages get stuck in the middle, and then the next slide starts from the wrong position. This throws everything off the loop.

Everything works fine when I want my movieclip to align to the middle of the screen but when I try to make a button (or any movieclip) always align to bottom right I can't figure out how. Here's my AS, how do I make the "ball_mc" align bottom left?

I added a Menu_mc on my stage. Initially, this should be at the center of the stage and when I click on it, it will tween on the upper left corner of the browser. However, when I resize the browser, the Menu_mc goes back to the center of the screen.
I have tried separating a different actionscript file where it is specifically for initialization of the object and another one for resizing. And then when I call it on my main AS file it goes like this:

For example, I have a AS3.0 flash file with, say, 5 keyframes with 5 buttons that are in different positions on each key frame. The buttons are set to gotoAndPlay the various keyframes. I can set up a tween that links frame 1 to 2, 2 to 3 etc. but what I would like is a tween from, say, 1 to 3, then 3 to 5, then 5 to 1 - basically in a random order rather than sequentially through the key frames. I could set each of these tweens up individually but the site is for a portfolio that I would like to keep adding to and to do this individually would mean an ever increasing amount of tweens.Basically, is there a way to get a 'MovieClip' to move from Position A in keyframe 1 to Position B in another keyframe without a set of tween frames? I'm sure this is simpler than I am making it sound but I don't seem to be able to work it out.

Okay I have a script in which I have added an image to the stage. It is absolute centered. I then have another with is on top but much bigger. I would like the big image to move opposite of my mouse position on the smaller image. ie: cursor is on bottom left corner the bottom left corner of the larger image is in the same spot. And the same thing for any other area.
I have tried many different ways but to no avail. I have done research but no one has been able to give me a solid answer. Anyone know of a way to accomplish this. Keep in mind this it needs to work regardless of the image size.

i need a movieclip (let's name it "MC1") to be exactly at the same position as another moviecilp("MC2") which is moved with the arrow keys.MC1 has to be always at the same position as MC2, even when it's moved with the keys. How can i do this? I already have the code for moving MC2, but i can't get MC1 to be in its position. Where do i have to put the code in the frame, in MC1, MC2? and ... WHAT CODE?
