ActionScript 2.0 :: Keeping MovieClip Centered In Middle Of Browser

Sep 13, 2006

I'm building a website here and It's a fullscreen flash site. Everything is grouped into an MC on the main timeline. This main MC has a Navigation MC with buttons in it and a Content MC. And I'm using this code on the MC to keep it all centered in the browser:

[AS]Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
Stage.align = "TL";
main._x = Stage.width/2;
main._y = 0;
function tweenmain(easeType) {
[Code] .....

And when I run this swf in an html file, it doesn't center in the middle of the browser... It's way over to the right. It just wont stay in the center of the browser window like its supposed to...

ActionScript 2.0 :: Fullscreen Resizing Keeping Images Centered. Solution=Demonoid Invite?

Jul 25, 2009

Hate to drop some bribe on my first post and all but I need answers fast and if any of you have been waiting for as long as I did for a demonoid acct you should be able to figure this out real fast Anyone with some decent flash/as2 skills should be able to figure this out real quick. First one to send back a working file gets the invite code.Ok long story short I purchased a fullscreen xml gallery from FlashDen that is supposed to resize. Here is the link to the demo...Well problem is it only resizes the images based on their width and not their height. (Panorama would show fine but a tall portrait would just go off the page) You will notice in that demo how the resizing is fixed to the side of the painting and not the bottom.

Well, to me this seams useless because I really need every user to be able to see the full pictures no matter what screen resolution they are at and no matter how they adjust their browser window.Believe me when I come posting on threads it means I have spend many many hours trying to figure it out myself...In this case I have spent 30 hours trying to solve this in the last two days....Now I am over the deadline I gave to my client/family member and am still at square one basically.Also note I have figured out how to make it so that it fixes to the bottom and thus shows the tall images in full but when I do this it is no longer centered in the page.

I am really tired and worn out but would love to work with someone's advice to make this a reality.Attached is everything you would need. Please note that by downloading this attachment you are agreeing to only using these files to your new friend Sean and would never think about using this for your own project.Attachment is too big...~3Mb so I had to put it on a server.. Grab it here.

if(heightRatio<widthRatio){
eval(getResizeClip)._width = widthRatio*bgWidth;
eval(getResizeClip)._height = widthRatio*bgHeight;

ActionScript 3.0 :: Resize To Fit Browser Window (centered)?

Jan 14, 2010

What I would like is to keep my original movie size (800x600) but have it centered both horizontally and vertically in the browser window. If the user expands the browser window, I'd like it to dynamically center itself both horizontally and vertically in the new window size.There is one that fits what I need, but it doesn't work properly. [URL]The current result when I use this in the HTML file is that everything is enlarged past the window size (and I end up with scroll bars), and the flash item is not centered.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Truly Centered Non-resizable Swf In A Browser Window

Apr 17, 2003

I found a page that launches a full-screen browser window with a SWF in it. This SWF is non-resizable, and it is centered inside a browser window in such a manner, that both bottom AND TOP get cut off if the screen size is smaller than that of a flash file.Usually an embedded SWF would be tied to top left corner of the browser window in case of a smaller screen. In other words, top edge and left edge of a SWF file would always start at 0, 0 if the screen is too small. URL...Java script on the index page launches the full-screen browser window. But what makes the movie inside that window perfectly centered, even on a smaller (i.e. 800x600) screen, letting its BOTH bottom AND TOP edges be clipped? Is there some flash code for it? I couldn't find anything in the html code.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Movieclip In Embedded Swf Not Centered

Feb 1, 2011

I am having a problem trying to center a movieclip within an externally loaded swf. To test, I placed one instance of the movieclip on the first frame of the timeline on child.swf and centered it and the other is displayed using actionscript. They both align perfectly when I test the swf. The problem is that when I load this swf into another movie (parent.swf) they are no longer aligned with each other. I used this code to align the movieclip in child.swf. It works fine when I open child.swf on it's own but when I load child.swf into parent.swf the movieclips are not aligned.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Centered Jpeg In MovieClip Doesn't Work On The Web

Apr 17, 2008

ive seen the tutorials on centering a jpeg to a movie clip when its loaded but they are actually cheating . All they do is load it in the center of the stage and not the center of the actual movieclip. This was working fine untill i decided to upload it on the web. And now its all screwed up because i think its trying to recalcuate what the "center" of the stage is everytime u resize ur broweser window. For anyonen who doesnt know the code im talking about here it is:

_root.container._x = Stage.width/2;
_root.container._y = 50;
_root.container._alpha = 0;

[Code]....

Is there a better "proper" way of doing this? Im surprised Adobe didnt fix this in cs3...

ActionScript 3.0 :: Keeping Tween Point While Dragging Movieclip?

Aug 18, 2009

I have created a portfolio which is supposed to give the impression that it is my windows desktop that you are looking at. I have made it so that I can drag MSN Messenger around now, but I have come upon a problem I can't figure out.

I have two movieclips representing my windows. One for the open window, which contains the animation to open a windown from minimized, and the window in open state. And one which contains the animation of the window closing. The problem is that when I start to drag the movieclip, I don't know how to "lock" the close movieclip to the open moviclip, so that they remain op top of eachother. Also, the position on the stage the windows gets minimized to(and maximized from) moves with the movieclip, making it look stupid if you minimize a window after having dragged it. Look on "Om Mig" on the site to see what I mean.

Here is the site

Is there a way to fix the other movieclip to the drag, and is the a way to fix the position the windows tween to when they are minimize and maximized, after the movieclips have been dragged?[code]...
