ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Browser - Full Width / Centered Navigation Bar
Apr 4, 2012I need to create a full browser flash website that dynamically re-sizes just like Facebook. The "Navbar" should resize till both ends of the browser.

Apr 1, 2010I am working in Flash CS3 and Actionscript 3.0 My application resizes according to browser width and height. If the user first resizes the browser and then loads the flash application, I could not get the full browser width untill the user goes for full screen. Is there any way around, to get the full browser width before the user goes for full screen.

I'm not even sure if it is possible to do but I've seen a lot of full browser flash's I'm just wondering if its possible to limit it to a certain height but have it go any browser width while keeping the content in the center and not scaling it down to any size..

I have gone through it all and it works great for the tutorial but I tried replacing the background with an image and when the browser is resized to full screen it distorts the image and stretches it out of proportion. Does anyone know how I can have the background image resized to the full screen and stay in proportion?

Aug 6, 2010I am trying to build my portfolio which is coming along fine.
I do however have a problem.. I want the site (SWF) to scale according to browser size.But, I want to implement a maximum and minimum width and height.
I dont want it to scale so that it is bigger than my stage size (1365px x 845px), and I dont want it to scale so that it can be smaller than for instance (800px x 600x). And I also want the SWF to be centered at all times.
If you need to see a working example you can see what I am trying to achieve on this site: [url]....Take a look at the slideshow when you enter the site, and try resizing your browser window. You'll notice that the pictures will shrink, but won't scale above their obvious 100% size. I tried looking at the page source, but I didnt understand much. Looks like they have used Actionscript for the resizing/aligning.

This SWF is non-resizable, and it is centered inside a browser window in such a manner, that both bottom AND TOP get cut off if the screen size is smaller than that of a flash file.Usually an embedded SWF would be tied to top left corner of the browser window in case of a smaller screen. In other words, top edge and left edge of a SWF file would always start at 0, 0 if the screen is too small. URL...Java script on the index page launches the full-screen browser window. But what makes the movie inside that window perfectly centered, even on a smaller (i.e. 800x600) screen, letting its BOTH bottom AND TOP edges be clipped? Is there some flash code for it? I couldn't find anything in the html code.

Sep 13, 2006I'm building a website here and It's a fullscreen flash site. Everything is grouped into an MC on the main timeline. This main MC has a Navigation MC with buttons in it and a Content MC. And I'm using this code on the MC to keep it all centered in the browser:

And when I run this swf in an html file, it doesn't center in the middle of the browser... It's way over to the right. It just wont stay in the center of the browser window like its supposed to...

Jul 9, 2011I tested my skin for YouTube Chromeless player, and seems it worked properly.All graphic elements, including TLFTextFields, are stored in external SWF, all the AS3 code - in loading SWF.I use ProLoader class to load SWF.However, when I tried to attach Player skin code to my Home Page code, I immediately bumped into two issues:
1. TLFTextFields ceased to display proper font;
2. YouTube Chromeless player ceased to enlarge up to Full Screen width in Full Screen mode, whereas all publishing settings were kept the same...
Although I managed to cope with TLFTextField bug by replacing instances with vars in loaded SWF, I have no the slightest idea what to do with those paddings in Full Screen mode... Neither removing all children on stage before loading YouTube Player skin, nor compulsory resetting player's size can't make it work...

I know this. However a client wants it so we have to do it, simple as that.Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be achieved? I've been in touch with the creators of the flash video player I'm currently using and they've confirmed it isn't possible with that flash video player.

So the problem is that the stage's width isn't the full size of the browser. I'm using Flash Builder 4.6 is there a way to set the stage's parameters to allow for true full-screen?
