My flash program isn't using the full browser window, even while in full-screen mode. It uses the full height but not the full width. I end up with a large chunk of white space. I have the following code for full-screen mode:

So the problem is that the stage's width isn't the full size of the browser. I'm using Flash Builder 4.6 is there a way to set the stage's parameters to allow for true full-screen?
I'm working on a small flash site and I want the swf file to have "bleed" or to go to the very end of the window so that the swf isn't just ploped over top of a background. [URL]

I have a standalone Flash projector running off CD. Currently, I use
getURL("http:url....);
to open the page on default browser. Only problem is the browser window is opening at the size it was last used. I like to see it opens full screen.
I am working on a Flash app that is 900x700 pixels. When viewed in misc. browsers at 1024x768, the browser chrome causes robs too much of the vertical space and the app appears in a window with a vertical scrollbar. Unacceptable.
The flash app will be launched via a link emailed to the viewers.
I'd like to avoid resizing the flash app and am wondering if there's a way to do the following via javascript, with no clicks involved:maximize the current browser window remove current window address bar and tabs / switch browser to full screen view (equivalent to pressing F11).
An alternative would be to resize the flash app vertically to match the browser canvas height to avoid scrolling. This may cause the app to become unreadable, so not the best approach in my case.
UPDATE: Seems that browser resizing and autoswitch to full screen won't work and neither will the flash app auto resize. What is the best approach then? And, some users may have browsers with toolbars or open a small browser window.
The only idea I have is to use javascript and display a message to users with small browser windows to pres F11 manually. The audience is executes and some may not even know what an F11 means...
In the projector I have links that open websites in a web browser window. When I play the projector on Mac, the browser window opens in front of the Projector's window, but on Windows, the browser is hidden by the projector's window

I am working in Flash CS3 and Actionscript 3.0 My application resizes according to browser width and height. If the user first resizes the browser and then loads the flash application, I could not get the full browser width untill the user goes for full screen. Is there any way around, to get the full browser width before the user goes for full screen.

Try resizing the window and you'll notice that the background is vector and it looks like the scale mode is set to "showAll". BUT, the photos look like they have a separate scale mode set to "noScale". They don't resize.

View 3 RepliesI want to fade in the full browser background, however most of these tutorials I have seen have it loaded somehow with the BitmapData or another class, and when it is done this way, I cannot add any animation. Others, the background covers the whole browser, but it doesn't really resize, so most of it is just cropped out. Some, the positioning isn't always consistent for all resolutions. Some don't really explain how to position images in different parts of the Flash besides the direct center, top left, top right, etc. They will tell you how to get these spots, but not other spots.

The reason I chose to stick with this one is that is the positioning is perfect. Positioning looks the exact same in all resolutions and what not, so this is what I want. But as you can see, it uses a BitmapData class, so I don't know how to add any animation because the file isn't even on the stage. It's in the library and I get this effect by giving it an identifier. Also, the background doesn't resize. It fits the whole browser, but most of it is cropped about like I mentioned earlier. The video tutorial really didn't cover the best way to adjust size, so now that I have the perfect way to position my clips, I don't know how to resize them, so they still look good. I remember in another tutorial I was guessing random numbers such as:

I basically just plugged in random numbers until it looked closest to the way I wanted it to. The problem with this was that image quality was reduced.
The Background
- Must be able to add animation to the full browser background
- Background must be resized so that nothing is missing from the original image, not cropping to fill the whole browser, resizing to fill the whole browser.
Positioning (Not really a problem now but...)
- An easy way to position anything where ever you want.
- Consistent in all resolutions.
Scaling Clips
- A way to scale clips so they just fine in all resolutions so that an image with a width of 512 px that looks great in 1280x1024 doesn't end up taking half of someone screen's that uses a 1024 x 768 resolution.
- No loss of quality.

The preloader works but the full browser script doesn't center my file until I resize the browser and then it snaps to the center.
View 2 RepliesI have a full-flash site which is fixed size, most controls and assets are added to the stage at runtime, the aligment is set to center, and it is embedded in html with 100% width and height - you can visit www.janelaurie.com to get a better picture of what I mean.Everything here is working perfectly, but I would like to add some stuff to the very edges of the browser and I cannot find the values that I need and its driving me crazy. I've added a listener to the stage.resize and stage.stageWidth / stage.stageHeight are giving the correct values but obviously that is not enough, I also need the coordinates of the top left corner which should be negative something - but I cannot find those values anywhere. I've tried getRect and getBounds but they don't work obviously as they only measure the full contents of the stage.
The only solution I can think of at this point is to set my stage.align to topleft, but that would mean i need to readjust the entire app and all of the main controls etc. are directly on the stage and I really do not want to change all that. All I need are two numbers, the coordinates of the top left corner of the stage in the resize event of the stage, is there anyway of retrieving that?
