I'm not even sure if it is possible to do but I've seen a lot of full browser flash's I'm just wondering if its possible to limit it to a certain height but have it go any browser width while keeping the content in the center and not scaling it down to any size..

The flash content is a rectangle in the center, which is centered depending on the browser size. This would probably be the size of the stage.

Mar 28, 2008I have a Fla with many movieclips arranged on it. I've figured out how to reposition them dynamically in AS 2 using a listener (i.e. nav stays at bottom, main content in center regardless of user changing window size, etc.).
Now I want to add another movieclip ("vid_bg" is the instance name) which always resizes to be the width and height of the browser. Think of it as a movieclip background under the other content that stretches to fill the browser.

Aug 20, 2009The template is built under Flash and has .swf, .fla and html files and was setup on an html background. To make things look nice I decided to use an XML web template as a background to his template. The problem starts from there.The XML web template allows us to add our own SWF files, so I decided to add the swf file of my friend's template.
The swf file was set to "noscale" and when I imported it into the web template it didn't fit properly. So I took the "noscale" off from the actionscript and imported it again. Even then the scaling of the swf file was not correct.As soon as you load the file, it scales towards the left and not center.My question is how can I write a code within the fla file so that when the swf file is loaded it automatically centers itself?2nd question is how can I setup the dimensions of the file as in terms of height and width of the file without getting it cropped. I tried to set it up from 840x610 to 650x430 however the swf content got chopped off (even with noscale off).

Do they load progressively, or does the browser wait until the entire flash file is loaded before displaying it?The reason is I have a tiny clip that is extremely high in quality, only a few seconds long, but it's over 4 mb.Will the user have to wait until all 4 mb is loaded before viewing? Or does it load as the user watches it? I just imported a .flv into Flash, and exported as a .swf.

Jul 31, 2009I'm mostly an art/design oriented person but am trying to learn some new things. I'm currently working on a test site for myself as a self-learning piece that will be a CSS laid out site with some Flash elements. Anyway, I'm completely stuck on this current problem..I will be placing a SWF file that will live on each page but will need to do different things based on which page the browser currently is on. It's nothing complex...will probably be something as simple as "on enter frame, if the browser is on this page 'http:www...', then jump to frame '#' ". This is how I'm placing the SWF file through the CSS.[code]
I read that "FlashVars" was the start of how to do this but as you can see in that last line, that's as far as I got on the CSS side. I have ZERO clue how to make the SWF file detect that value or detect the page the browser is on and then do something with AS3. Does this all make sense? I've searched through books and online for a little over 6 hours today and have not been able to figure this part out. Is it a simple line of code I need in the flash file or am I embarking on more than I can handle at this stage?

Feb 11, 2012Recently I designed and programmed a website.... and today I have come (this happens only in internet explorer web browser)Every other web browser like firefox, safari it's loads totally fine.click on the URL link below and click on any buttons in the navigation bar with your mouse cursor.As you can see a quick blink, the flash file is at the very top left hand side before its in the correct position. (underneath the nav bar)It seems that the wmode / transparent is causing it.If I remove wmode - it loads fine in ie.ut I need the transparent / wmode for the drop down menu to work (so its visible while the flash file is there.)
