ActionScript 2.0 :: Print The Current Visible View Of An Mc?
Feb 21, 2008
I have a print function that is supposed to print the current visible view of an mc...the mc contains a map that can be zoomed in on and panned...I want to only view what the mc shows...and I had this function working before...but I have made hundreds of changes to my code, without testing the print function along the way, so I have no idea what I did that may have broken my function..
I'm building a stand alone presentation application (.exe) in Flash CS4, and want to add a print button which prints current frame. Tried to find about that everywhere on internet, but didn't quite found what I need. So when someone clicks the button, I wish to save that image in original size as bitmap or jpeg image. How can I do that?
Flex application is contained in one of the rows of a html table, and that row is hidden as per one use case. Flex application is refreshed when visibility of the row is changed to visible. This results in lose of data that is already entered in the flex application. Is there any way to stop this behavior?
Is there a statement in AS3 that will return current class and/or scope? I'd like to use that in trace statements so that I know the exact location of a trace.
Is there any framwork or component already done that does something like this? I guess it should be too difficult to build? When building this I only want the shortcuts to be active when the view is visible. How do I detect this? What base class is best to inherit from when working with non visual components?
I'm making a first-person adventure game where I have the different frames in the root movie be the various locations that the user can interact with. I want to have fading transitions between the scenes and I was wondering if this was possible in flash. What I've tried for now is to create an array with all the current children then when the frame is changed I add those objects on top of the new frame and use a (alpha) Tween object to fade them out. This doesn't seem like a good idea and feels very hackish, so I had a few questions:
1. Is there an event that is called when a frame is changed (Event.FRAME_CHANGE doesn't exist ) since the way I'm doing it now is to have a local variable which I compare with this.currentFrame.
2. This may sound weird, but is there a way to create a screenshot of the current visible area and use that as one would any other visible object? This would allow me to Tween that one out instead of the array of children that I'm using now. I know it's possible in OpenGL, to render the current view scope to a texture array, but does Flash have this capacity?
PS: This is all done inside a separate class, in case that matters (I am very noobish).
I am trying to create a print button on the last frame that will allow the user to print just that frame. I've tried using the printjob object, but all that I can get to happen is print a blank sheet of paper. Here is the code that I have so far:
function printScore(event:MouseEvent):void { var printJob:PrintJob = new PrintJob();
i want to simply print 2 movieClips when i press a Print button. so i have the "_root.container_mc" and "_root.logo_mc"... paste the simplest code for printing a "landscape" page with these 2?
I am trying to make a print button that will print the contents of a mc...this mc basically holds a dynamically drawn floorplan which can be zoomed and panned...I want to be able to print the contents of the mc, and only what is viewable in the mc at the time of the print...so if you are zoomed in, all that prints are the actual objects visibly seen in the mc...I think it may be with the print command using bmovie but I have no idea how to assign a #b lable to the frame.
[Code]... and go to the print section and then check out the print pieces. for some reason my resizing gallery movie is doing some weird stuff and i cant figure out how to fix it. my actionscript goes like this :
I am not able to print more than 5 pages in one go. I want to print almost 12 pages in one print job. I am creating the movieclips of each page by adding the dynamic data in to it and store in an array. When all the movieclips created and stored in an array(pagesAry) then it call the following function to print those pages:
private function sendToPrinter():void { pj = new PrintJob(); try
[code]....
Getting error: Print job canceled as it took more than 15 seconds to complete.
I'm about to have to write a web page/app that will serve the agenda for circa 100 people on a page. One line per person, one column per day with 3 clickable zones in each cell. In HTML, the page is way complex for the browser to load quick and there is no possibility to click on a border between 2 cells to for example split an event that spreads among several cells. So I search an not too overkilling technology to render this kind of view. I begun with a PHP generated HTML page but the number of elements in the page make the mouse move jerky.
Moving to JAVA would give me better performances regarding the reuse of the generator of the view but it will still be an HTML page. So, here is my question: do you think that going forward with JAVA and its graphical capability is the simple solution or is Flash a better option for this part of a Web App? I'm afraid of the code I'll have to write in JAVA to handle the GUI presentation as well as the events generated by the 1000's cells plus borders of the page. In Flash, the graphical part seems simpler even if the actions handling is still huge.
I'm currently using RobotLegs with the Presentation Model pattern to develop a Flex 4 project. I understand that all business logic related to a View resides in the Presentation Model associated with that view, however, I am confused when it comes to View specific logic. For example, I have an indicator that needs to be positioned relatively to list items depending on which list item is selected. Is it acceptable in the Presentation pattern to put the logic that will position the indicator in the View and simply have that logic run in reaction to a selectedIndex property changing in the presentation model? The reason I am considering this is that since the Presentation Model does not have a reference to the view it is difficult to come up with an ideal solution for manipulating view components.
I am wondering how to make a 360º view bubble, like they use for Google Street View, but have no idea how to go at accomplishing this task... i have the string of photos that i attached in photoshop(so that if you connected the left to the right it would be a full 360º view).
how do I go about printing entire, scrollable text area in flash movie, I know how to print entire page but when text file is scrollable it doesn't print whole text.
I am using Flash CS4 AS3.. When I open my browser "Internet Explorer 7" it opens normal. But When I open a link using the following Flash code it opens half in length and half in width. I need to click on "Maximise" button to view in full. How to solve the problem? It is our Intranet link.
I have one .mxml file (the Application) with a ViewStack (with 4 views) and a ControlBard, obviously I can change the views with it, but what I want to do is: in view #1 I have an image which I want to convert to a "hyperlink", so when I click it I go to View #2, is this doable? Also I would like to pass somehow some data (like a String) to that View #2 (lets say the it's a user avatar I click so I want to go to the second view which will show me his profile, that's why I need his name/id).
My problem is that when I try to pass an object from the navigator.pushView(view, dataobject), I can't figure out how to access the dataobject from actionscript. I can access {dataobject.property} from MXML easily, but I want to set a variable in the new view to the passed dataobjects property.
in flash, I encounted a source file that is cropped and I cannot move it, is there some sort of cropped view in flash I dont know about? I cannot find anyinformation about it, it has rulers displayed as far as I remember.
Basically you cannot move in the file to edit anything viewpoint wise, everything outside of the movie area is invisible and not there? As if cropped.
My question is: Set parentSprite.visible = false will make all children in parentSprite all invisible, right? And is there any way to just make parentSprite itself invisible without effecting it's children?
I want to click on an object and make it appear and disappear. As the object is rectangular, I figured putting a white button the same size on a white background on a layer underneath the object would do this, but I can't seem to make it happen.I'm a complete novice, frustrated as I've been trying to achieve this all day and I'm sure it should be pretty simple, but could you give me the idiots guide. I know how to name an instance, make an object, script in actions on a separate layer. I would like to draw the button myself and give it an instance rather than drag it off the button component (as I can't work out how to make the component button white, change its size etc.!)
When the checkbox (cb1) is clicked the "my_Dyn_Txt1" is visible. The problem I'm having is - when I move forwad and back in my frames the checkboxes which were clicked are not visible due to
Code: my_Dyn_Txt1._visible = false
How can I make ("my_Dyn_Txt1"), a clicked checkbox STAY VISIBLE even after I move forwad and back in my FLA frames?
