ActionScript 2.0 :: Radio-button To Output Two Numbers In To Two Different Text Boxes
Mar 21, 2008
I need a radiobutton to output two numbers in to two different text boxes.Like, if I would to select a sofa(radiobutton_1),it would give me the cost and yardage needed for the fabric. then I would pic an ottoman(radiobutton_2), and it would add the two.right now Im using the data(in parameters) from the button itself to get one number(cost):[code]
I have 4 text boxes on a frame. My goal is to have them put numbers in the text boxes. I need to be able to show whether or not what they put in was correct. I have 4 input boxes and 4 dynamic boxes set up. I figured I could put code that says, "if >1 then "incorrect" shows up....if =1 then 'correct" shows up...that type of deal...Ultimately after I show whether or not they're correct...to go to the next frame/frame name...
All the coding for the program I am creating is shown below.
[Code]....
I have created two text boxes, one for height and one for width for lines that are going to be drawn by the user on the stage. at the moment the text box information has no connection with the makeShapes function in the code. The height and width of the lines at the moment are at a default of 10. What I need to do is replace the defaults with a connection with the information of the 2 text boxes.
how do you shuffle random numbers?lets say i hav 5 dynamic text boxes.. and i want to shuffle numbers 1 through 5 in each of them on a click of a button... how would i do that??

I made all the corrections in my code and got a working one. But what I really want to do is not adding texts into one text field. I need to get the numbers which is written by users into text boxes and then use their inputs to make some calculations. (Like 3+6=9 ). When I assign numbers to variables Ican easily make calculations but what I really want is not that. the numbers should be entered by these text boxes. I think need to change "string" to "number" but when I do this I get error message. I am planning to use the calculation result in some other part of my code. I am wondering if using "return" function useful for me to get the number (the result) of calculation?
I'm developing an Adobe Air application for Android using ActionScript 3.0 (I'm not using Flex).I'm trying to use radio buttons and a radio button group, but they aren't available on ActionScript mobile.I'm using Flash Builder 4.5.1 Standard and when I want to import fl.controls it complains saying that it isn't available. Is there any other control that I can use instead of radio buttons?
I am having a problem getting radio button data into php and I can not seem to find any answers. My project is simple I have a group of radio buttons, when one is selected and a submit button is pressed I want the data from the radio button to populate the subject line of an email and send it.I can make a form work with input fields but not with radio button data.
i have this flash form that has text fields, radio buttons and check boxes in it that i made i a flash website made in AS2 . but i cant find a way to make the information in the radio buttons and check boxes to be sent to my e mail via php.
I've got a huge survey I've made with lots and lots of groups of radio buttons. There are maybe 60 questions with 6 buttons each. Of these, I have a couple of groups that are really misbehaving. What's happening is for one question, the first button in the group seems independent of the rest. That is, I can check the first radio button and it never turns off when clicking others in the same group.
All my code is right. I'm using the exact same code with all the other groups and only two groups aren't working right. Ha. That's the funny thing, though, because everything works fine IN Flash, but publishing to a web page, these two groups stop working right.FWIW, I've set the first instance of the radio button with a name like "G10" then all the buttons in the group have the group name "Q10".I've tried several ways of fixing this including deleting the whole group and adding them again, copying a working group and renaming the parts. Nothing. The one thing that has worked (and don't ask me why) but adding a new single radio button with a new instance and group name has fixed other problem groups but not these two.
I'm teaching myself ActionScript and the book I'm reading just got into input text capabilities. The book shows me how to link input text to a variable and output that text to the output window using trace. My question is: how can I display the text that the user input onto the actual movie. For example... if I wanted the visitor to type their name into the input text box and click Submit and then a phrase shows up with their name such as "Hold on Name, my site will be done soon." How do I reference that variable and have it actually display in my movie?
I'm stumped on this problem and can't seem to figure it out. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Basically I'm building a large calculator that adds over 100 input boxes. I've got it working except for the fact that if a user misses inputing a number into one of the input boxes it does not work anymore. I've tired lots of things to no avail. I just want to add the input boxes and skip those where the user did not enter any information (does not apply to them)
each input box has a variable name assigned to it as indicated above. I've tired setting the variables to 0, tried if statements don't know how to skip one of the above variables when no number is entered.
I am willing to use Macromedia Flash this year to make my physics project. Well, its going to be force resultant calculator. for ones dont know how it gets counted.
Well, I'll make 4 input text boxes, and a button in the middle. 1 text boxin the north, (power effect the body from the north) one on the south, one on the east and one on the west.(I've done that part).
Then, ill need it to subtract the north - south and east - west on(release), and display that on a dynamic box called Fx (east - west) and another called FY (north - south) Finally, I'll need it fethagorth the Fx and FY to give me the final force resultant. I've done the 4 input boxes and a button, I'll still need someone gimme the action script for subtraction and fethagorth (or atleast teach me how to do it).
I'm working on a flash thing that just has three boxes, each with a different # in it. By clicking the box it will turn red or green, and below it will display the sum of all the green boxes. This is really just a test kind of for a bigger project that I have to do for work. Basically it all works except for the summing part, which I believe has something to do with the fact that it is in a function, but I could be way off.
The following is my codes. This is still work in progress; so, you will see some functions with empty contents. Plus, this is my first Flex application; please bear with me. This is a quiz application that gets the questions and answers to each questions from a ColdFusion web service. There are three types of questions, True or False, Multiple Choice with single selection, and Multiple Choice with multiple selections. So, based upon the question type, the application would dynamically generate the appropriate amount of radio buttons or check boxes for the users to select. I got these working. The problem that I am having is, I am not sure how to check what the users have actually selected. In some other forums and posts on other web site, it said that I can use event.currentTarget.selectedValue to get the user selection. But when I actually do it, I got a run-time error saying, "Property selectedValue not found on mx.controls.FormItem and there is no default value." My question is, what do I need to do to capture the user selections?
I'm trying to build a flash keypad that fills in input text boxes when you press a button.I have two input text fields. I can assign each button a number and tell it to display that number in the text field when pressed. for example:
I have 4 dynamic text boxes which duplicates the text from a main input text box. How do I write a code to make visible only the dynamic text box I want when clicked it's check box. What is the CODE to make each "DYNAMIC TEXTBOX" visible when clicked on it's checkbox?
I am working on the project where everything is based on the distance from the center of the stage. First I made this fla where flash outputs the x and y distance from the center. First problem is that I want to output distance only in positive numbers.
I was wondering if it's possible to have a dynamic text box that can change sizes, without distorting the text displayed in it... I would also like to set it up dynamically.
I use .txt files a lot with flash to load external news and updates. Although you can use the loadVariablesNum() command to load the .txt files is there anyway to edit and save the external files in flash? e.g. say I have a text box and a submit button in flash is there some way where I can add the text boxes content to a .txt file?
Does anyone know how you can deselect a radio button through as3? I have a program where the radio button remembers the users selection so when they return to the page the radio button they selected is still being displayed as selected. In some cases I want to get deselect the radio buttons so that when the user returns none of the radio buttons are selected. There has got to be a way to do this but I am not having much luck searching the net.
I have a project using 2 groups of radio buttons. Each group needs its own icon. I can skin the RadioButton Asset, but that affects ALL radio buttons. I guess U need to be able to change the icon property on an instance-by-instance basis.
I have a form which I've had working fine. (I think I bought it ages ago hence the commentary throughout the AS!) I've now been asked to add in a radio button (2 actually but I'm starting with the one!)I've added it in, nicking this component from another form I bought, seeing as already fully reskinned the first one, but in my end email I'm getting 'undefined' as the result.So. Below is my Actionscript (I kept getting typos between the AS and the PHP which was causing me grief, hence me just calling my fields sequential alphabet letters.)
kkk (oops! that's just jumped out at me!) is the radio button - essentially I have the radio button which is 'email' or 'phone' posting to a hidden input text field called kkk. I've had this field 'unhidden' so I can confirm this works in the swf, ie the field is being populated but then this is not communicating to the php.Below the actionscript is the php.
