I was testing out the new website I just created[URL]...and it works perfect on most machines, but one computer, which is about 4 years old? just appears as a huge pink screen in the middle of the grey background. The only thing pink on the website is a content swf I called default. I used this to determine the height of the stage, and it shouldn't fill the entire stage, and it doesn't explain where the header and side bar are.
The computer is up to scratch with flash and IE and firefox, I'm out of possible answers. But also, this website is for a business too, so how many other computers would react in this way, and would hence loose business - considering this computer is apparently what we use to talk to the customer with, and how can we show off the website to customers if it doesn't work
open an older Flash 8 .fla file in Flash CS4?.......bc I am going to have to download a trial CS4....in order to open this file..I currently have an even older version MX.....and I cannot open version 8....this file was sent to me to edit it.....and I am getting the "unexpected file format" message....
Do you think that flash mx and flash 8 are outdated to learn for beginners? What do you suggest to a beginner entirely new to flash, the new ones like flash CS4 or begin with older ones like flash 8 and slowly build up?
I am interested in buying flash however even with the discount given to students as a program it is still a large investment. I was wondering if I am able to buy an older version for example "Flash 8" at a reduced price from adobe or another trusted retailer I know the newer version have updated the program alot but many of the new features will be unused by me and the older version would suit my needs better.
I was wondering if older versions of Flash (specifically Flash 8 and CS3) are still available. I'm aware that Flash CS5 is the current version, and I've used it a few times at school. However, I find that the older versions are easier to use, less prone to lag, and come with less features (it might sound odd to want less features, but I don't write Actionscript or anything - all I need are the basic paintbrush tools and animating abilites). Is there anywhere on this site that I can buy/download these versions from?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that apps created with Flash CS5.5 will not install on some iOS devices, including iPod Touch 2nd generation. For example, I see the error message stating that the app was not installed "because it is not compatible with this iPod". The same app was successfully installed when published with CS5.0
If this is true, by publishing such apps to the iTunes App store, a developer would invite negative comments from unhappy people who still use older devices. And since there's no way for the developer to respond, using CS5.5 sounds like a quick way to get negative reviews.

I'm doing some small edits to a few lines of text in a .fla file.The file was created with an older version of Flash.When I edit this fla in CS4 and then export it to .sfw and play the movie it does not display correctly.Can I edit an oder file using CS4?the older file is using ActionScript 2.0.

I am trying to load a flash object and I am having a hard time getting it to work in ie6,ie7, and ie8. The flash object is a button for an uploader. The flash object loads in firefox, chrome, safari, opera, and ie9 fine. I have searched google for answers and I have not been able to fix it. Here is the code that i used to load the flash object (it has changed various times with no luck in ie6-ie8)

How can I use an older version of Flash player when publishing to Man/Win Projector? The Properties says 'Player: 7' but when I publish to Mac/Win (.app/.exe) the file says it uses Flash player 9 (9.0.115.0)! One of our clients are having issues with a project published this way - on autoplay they get a white screen instead of the program screen and after they update Flash on their computer, the application (Projector) works. What's the issue?
In IE you can add the version=11.1.0 to the end of the codebase attribute of the object tag. Is there something that will force Firefox to do the same upgrade?
Since Flash 5.5 by default saves files in 5.5 format that's incompatible in 5.0 editors we need a way to save .fla files in older format with a JSFL script. Can this be done? How?
Background: One of our developers installed the Flash IDE 5.5 and ran a modifying script on hundreds of fla files that we have. The changes were ok, but the file save format was not. It automatically saved the 5.0 files in 5.5 format that can not be opened on the 5.0 IDEs.
We could restore files from backups or he could go trough each file manually saving them with the save as dialog. I'd prefer to find a way to batch save .fla files in older formats like Flash IDE 5.0. JSFL would look close to optimal, but I could not find a way to save the files with specific flash version in mind with it.
My application requires Adobe Flash player to install. So if you are trying to install application and you have not installed Adobe Flash player yet, it automatically suggests you install Flash player. So by default this application needs version 10.2 so it tries to install it, but adobe blocks it, because it says that I am trying to install an old version of flash player, so how can I avoid this blocking, so I don't need to install the newest version of Flash player each time? I have recently upgraded my Flash CS4 to Flash CS5 on my MAC, and Flash CS5 to Flash CS5.5 on my PC, these upgrades are causing the Flash Auto Formatting feature to malfunction, it somehow becomes a tool that breaks my code and causes errors while exporting, instead of simply re-arranging the lines.This is happening with all my codes and all my projects, not a specific line of code.
Is flash 2.0 able to access two computers at once? I was thinking of making a system that could work like a text instant messager and the ability to use a very primitive drawing system to send other people pictures. If anyone knows if it can be done could you point me in the direction to start?

In my flash game the font i choose looks perfectly fine on my computer (being played from a website) but when i use a computer at school or my friends computer, all the font is ALWAYS times new roman.. this happens with every game i make..

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I am not very familiar with flash, in fact the only reason I used it was to add a player to my movie. I saved the skin and what I think is the movie file .swf on my desktop in the same file and it plays just fine. As soon as I try to play it on another computer the icon looks different (doesn't have the S on it anymore) and just looks like a foreign file. I've created three swf-files and added to a website.Two are created the same way (AS2), by adding a quicktime-movie and exporting as a swf.
On my computer (mac) and n a PC I can view both movies, but on two other computers (mac) only one of them show up. I've tried to download quicktime player but without results.
first off, this is going to be a desktop application, not intended for the web. Ok, with that said, I need to be able to copy a file from one place in their comptuer and paste it on their desktop.
