ActionScript 2.0 :: Resize Background, Keep Stage/info Centred?

i've designed a website for someone who now wants it in flash - which is fine, but i stupidly bought an AS2 set of buttons and an AS3 image gallery.
My knowledge of flash barely skims past flash 4, so AS2 is prefered as i cannot work out how to give a button a command in AS3 let alone anything else.He wants the background to resize depending on the resolution, so i found this:[URL]..which oddly enough, regardless of how many times i try the tutorial, DOES NOT WORK, however the source file does, and for the sake of my sanity, that is enough.
I need to create a loader or movieclip, and load all the external swf's inside. I can do this with AS2, no problem.

everything is working well with the exception of the background image/stage. Whenever I preview it in a browser, the site gets stuck in the upper left corner. I need it to automatically resize according the to viewers browser size. How do I do this? From what I've seen online, it involves possibly putting everything in a movieclip, which I can do, I just don't know how to proceed from there.

I am opening centred pop up windows with Flash for a gallery so when you click on a thumbnail, it brings up the centred pop win.Unfortunately, if the user opens a pop up window, they have to close it in order to open another one. What I want to happen is if the user has a pop up window already open and selects another thumbnail from the gallery, the pop up window is replaced by the new one, meaning the user won't have to close a pop win.Is this do-able with the code I'm using?[code]

trying to print a movieclip with a white backgroundwhile keeping the stage background black.The movieclip,printResults_mc has a white rectangle in the bottom layer, 850pixels x 1100 pixels. The following function scales printResults_mcto the printers printable area but because isimpossible to predict the aspect ratio of the printable area someblack background always leaks out. I tried making the whitebackground 20 pixels larger than I need (870 x 1120) and thensetting a crop rectangle in addPage of (10,10,850,1100), no luck,the black stage background just fills in the area outside the crop.A simple solution would be to temporarily set the stage backgroundcolor property to white, print, then set it back to black, but I

I'm writing a web based flash app that's written entirely in AS3. I have objects on the screen as part of a GUI. I would like the user to be able to resize the window, or make it full screen. I would like everything to auto-scale with the resize, but also remain in the same relative position on the stage.

When you resize the browser window the thumbnails rows and columns adjust accordingly to fit.I've managed to attach the thumbnails correct when my enableButtons() function is called but i'm unsure how to approach resizing.

I've got a large bitmap (1920 x1306) that my client wants as a bg image, scaled to the swf size on load (930 x 575); but that can "grow" up to its original size if/when a user expands the browser window. All the rest of clips in the display list are to remain in place (except for a copyright clip, which they want to always be 14 pix above the bottom of the browser frame. I've tried loading the bitmap dynamically at full size and then using scaleX,scaleY to set it's initial smaller (930x575) size, and I've tried just setting the height/width of the dynamically loaded image using the math of scaleX,ScaleY just in case the scaleX "transformed" the bitmap so that it couldn't return to its original size. Both make the bitmap the right size. But the resize function below did nothing to it, (or the copyright.y.) THEN I tried just putting the bitmap into the display list (both sizing methods work here, too). But even as an original member of the compiled display list, the resize event is still not reaching the target. Everything I've seen on the web says this should work - but...no luck.

I am creating a site and I want a small swf slideshow background to be loaded into the main site SWF and be able to be resized to fill the browser. But as I bring in other swf files they are able to retain their size, not be resized in the browser. And I want the main site to stay in the center of the browser.

it loads perfectly, and - from what I can see - keeps it's dimensions.but it does not resize to the size of the browser as it should....if you go to the link, and then manually resize the browser-window, you'll get the resizing of the background-picture going on, though.[code]...

I have an animated movie clip behind the text field for a background, so the text looks like it's inside a (animated) colored box. I'd like to create an animated background for my latest gig using Flash. My only issue (as of right now) is different browser sizes. I know a way to make a standard background resize (meaning no nasty scroll bars) using Javascript, but it's not working with the embedded movie.

I have some scrolling content (info). I've also made my own scroll bar.I want the scrollBar dragger to be positioned in relation to the info._y as the user scrolls info.I have created two vars: one that worsk out where info._y is as a percentage and the other that works out where the scroll._y dragger should be as a percentage...
Actionscript Code:

also onMouseWheel working too.I need a small bit of code that takes the % of info._y and moves the scrollBar dragger to the same % but in relation to the Stage.height...so if projectGalleryPercent = 50%, make dragger._y 50% of Stage.height using scrollBarPercent.

I have two problems. 1) the page still will not resize properly until the window is resized. I assume I have the code wrong somehow.
2) I changed the height of my menu object to stage.stageHeight, but its now coming up squished and only about 30% of the actual height of the stage. I am not sure what I did as it seemed to be working before, but I cant seem to fix it.
