ActionScript 2.0 :: Set My Flash Banner To Be Transparent Without Html Codes?

The thing is that once uploaded in DART, my ad is not transparent so we always see the white screen where the ad expands.I know this problem is normally solved with wmode=transparent but the thing is that the person can't have an html code to put the wmode code.I wonder how I can set my flash banner to be transparent without html codes..Using Flash CS4 with ACS2! I have a Flex/Actionscript 3 application that displays RSS feeds in a Text element. It strips out any HTML formatting present, but it's not handling HTML special entity codes properly -- it's rendering &mdash as the literal string instead of replacing it with an em-dash, etc. Is there any systematic way I can make it handle those codes properly, or am I going to need to manually replace those strings regex style?Some aspects of Flex behavior that are relevant: both text and htmlText handle a limited subset of the characters properly with no further tweaking -- <, >,  , etc. (In fact, text actually handles them a little better than htmlText, as the latter treats < as a literal less-than character.) But there's a much larger set of characters (°, &mdash, and many others) that aren't handled properly -- at least, not by default.
well ive been tryin to create a small site with a banner using flash. i went to publish settings and changed the setting to transparent, published it and embedded the code into my html page on the page there is a white part at either side of the banner that shouldnt be there and doesnt look right, ive attached a picture
I am trying to embed a flash movie (.flv) into a webpage with a transparent background.
Requirements:
- Flv runs in transparent mode - I must be able to view html contents below.
- Movie does not auto play
- Movie is contained in a div and positionend absolutely using CSS
- No video controls or overlays, you shouldn't know it's an flv
- On load Movie is hidden
- Using jQuery, I click an image link to show and play the video, clicking it again stops and hides the video - vice versa
I have tried using Longtail Video Player with swfobject.js and javascript controls but no joy. Video is not transparent and controls with a click to play still feature.
Am I overcomplicating what appears to be quite a simple task.
I happy to explore any implementation.
Adobe flash embed parameters have been set correctly and wmode = transparent.
I've added a flash movie to my website, and set it's background to transparent, with wmode=transparent. This works flawlessly on Firefox, but on chrome, the background is just black. the website is http:[url].....
i am working on this project wherein the main frame has html content. Now is it possible to add a flash animation, let's say, an arrow that runs around and over the html the same way a higher level swf would do over an swf? is this possible on flash or is it strictly enforced through javasripting?
I'm using Flash 10.3 in Firefox 7 and Chrome 14. I have some HTML and Flash content where the Flash, containing complex vector drawings with a transparent background, is layered overtop of the HTML. I use Flashes wmode=transparent setting to allow the HTML content underneath to be seen through Flash.
I wanted to know if it was possible to have a transparent swf sit over the whole of a html page? Basically I want to have a standard html page and create say an insect crawling over it, is this possible? I know about swfObject but I can't seem to figure out how to make the swf full screen AND to still see the html?
I'm working on a website which has advert banners which link to external pages.I've recently added the ability to have flash banners, but am stuck on how to make the banners link without editing the flash file.
The idea is that clients wanting to advertise on the site send a flash advert which is then linked to their site through the CMS, however unless the client embeds the link into the flash file, or add a flashvar parameter which can then pull in the info from the database, the flash banner doesn't link as it's seems not to link being surrounded by an <a> tag.
This is probably a well known thing, but this is my first time doing flash adverts, so I'm coming to it from a completely novice position.Is this something than anyone creating a flash advert would know about and instinctively do or will it need to be instructed to the client before hand, or is there a way to get it to be a link through html?
I'm trying to get my flash movie to pop out of the box, so I have an opaque background of 500 x 400, but the stage size (the total overall size) is 1000 x 800. Then I use a DIV tag to place the flash movie over the rest of my page, making it seem like the flash movie is only 500 x 400 but some items can pop out to anywhere inside the 1000 x 800. Up to here it works fine, but the problem is you can't click the HTML links that are beneath the transparent part of the flash movie. Is there a way to make the links clickable?
I purchased a flash website template and am in the process of editing my main.fla file. In order to get listed on an advertising website with a higher rating, I have to place a reciprocal link to them on my site. However, I cannot figure out how to place an html link/banner on my site for other businesses. If I paste the html code in a text box, all that shows up is the html code rather than the image and link it is meant to generate.
I have a site I have created for a client which features a flash header image, the only problem is he accessed a draft of the site on his iPhone and was put off by the fact it didn't display any of the head image as it was an iPhone (which as we know are not flash happy!). Also, I would need this anyway incase the visitor has flash turned off or uninstalled (I have provided the usual 'install flash' link when flash isn't displayed).Is there a way I can do this with just HTML/CSS or will I have to use JS or something similar?I have tried adding tags but this does nothing.

Is there a cross-browser solution available to give a flash banner an html link, without putting it into the flash itself? (i.e. the Flash has no clickable button in it). I tried giving the surrounding anchor tag a high z-index, but that did not work. I'm using the standard google swfobject to include the flash banner, but am not stuck on using that.
I have a Youtube video on my homepage, and now I need a modal to display on certain events.For some reason, even when adding <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> to the Flash object, it still covers the HTML elements (with higher z-index too).I've got it on JSfiddle.I figured maybe an iframe could solve this, but that would require me to make a new page just to put the video on.
I've just started working on a Flash-based annotation tool. How it works is I place a transparent flash movie in a DIV over a HTML page and draw on it.Now the drawing part turned out to be fairly simple and I found numerous examples to get me free-form drawing. Its the erasing that's driving me nuts. All the examples out there I looked at either cleared the entire canvas, or let me click on specific drawings to take them off the canvas. I need an MS-Paint style eraser that just rubs things in its path.I could draw in white to simulate erasing, but that wont work. why the buttons in the flash banner I created in Flash CS4 work when I preview it in either Flash or HTML in the Flash CS4 program, but when I go to load it into a html document in Dreamweaver CS4 and preview it in a firefox or IE browser, the banner comes up fine, but the buttons this time will not work. The buttons are displayed with there animation and sound, but the links will not work. I have tried scripts in AS2 and AS3.
I searched and searched.Anyway, I have a swf sitting in a layer above html text. It's set to wmode transparent, and looks fine. it stays small until rolled over, then the buttons slid out as expected. However, when the swf buttons are still hiding, the html text in the area that the swf buttons will eventually occupy is not selectable when directly clicked.
I bought this flying birds MOV file from istockphotos and now I'm stuck trying to implement it into my webpage, I want it to run like a flash file, every few seconds but I can't seem to be able to import it into Adobe Flash, I tried using the code below but it does not allow me to do much and is not transparent:
I am trying to make a form in a Banner that when you click, it passes the info to the page and give you the information. I have been reading the PHP with emails, and its not getting the feilds to go to the page.
I have tried "loadVariablesNum" and "getURL" but nothing gets passed. I am useing a drop down, radio buttons, and a text box. Am I suppose to get the radio buttons into a var somehow?
I am using lightbox++ to load images outside of flash in order to make that work I have to set wmode=transparent in the object properties But doing this lightens the gray color used in the swf.. Without adding wmode=transparent Screenshot with wmode=transparent
I have multiple ideas/designs which want to work into my new site. It utilises designing graphics in AE, exported as .swf that lay on an alpha, building them into my HTML page layout, and once there the alpha/space in the design will enable HTML background elements to show through. How do I set this up in AE, HTML or Flash?
