ActionScript 2.0 :: Set Selected Items In Listbox To None?
Aug 18, 2006I just want to deselect everything in a listbox. I have tried:

myList_list.selectedItem = null;
myList_list.selectedItem = undefined;[/AS]
but it wont work.

Aug 26, 2009I would like to use the selectionMode=multiple described in the Flex docs, but with a few modifications:
1) I would like the box that the user drags over the graph to remain there until the user drags a new one.
2) In the top right corner of the box I want to display the sum of the items selected by that box.

May 7, 2010I'm trying to open a few .mov files in quicktime when they are selected in my listBox.I have this little block of code (What, I believe, is the important part):[code]It's launching a browser though, instead of quicktime. Which kind of makes sense, but before I tried it with a .mov, I tested it out with a .wmv, and it launched windows media player.I suppose otherwise, I would have to put everything in the fscommand folder, and figure out how to tie the fscommand folder to the vidList.change function..?

Apr 11, 2003i am learning to work with sharedobjects in flash mx, and i am trying now do to a little application, and in this application i will use a listbox to do some things, i have a message board that will keep the messages in the sharedobject named "visitas", i add data with a function, ,here it is:

Jun 20, 2004I've gotten as far as getting a listbox with a list of articles to display the articles in a dynamic text box, only i can only get it to work if i use one huge external text file that contains all the articles. what i want is to have each item on the list open up its own external text file, i.e. for each item on the list, there exists a separate text file. I'm about ready to put my fist through the monitor, and that would suck because this is a really nice monitor

ok so i know the general code to rename all selected library items

but this isn't good enough if the library items are in folders... because item.name returns the full path, but item.name sets the name. o.O as someone else points out here, [URL]
so when i try to rename Level1 to be ABC_Level1 if Level1's folder path is LIBRARY/FolderA/FolderB/Level1 i get this instead ABC_FolderA-FolderB-Level1
i could probably code some sort of string parser something like this,
item.name = "ABC_"+item.name.substr(item.name.lastIndexOf("-"), 99)
but that is really ugly and would not work if library items contained "-" already. "Level-1" for example

Jan 22, 2010I have a Listbox whith a ArrayCollection as datasource. I'm trying to remove the selected items from the ArrayCollection to update the list.Here is how I coded the remove function:

This works fine as long as the ArrayCollection is not sorted. When I apply a sort I get a RangeError from ListCollectionView.removeItemAt.

Oct 26, 2010I'm having troubles getting selectedItems from a List Component in Flash CS4. Each time I select multiple selections the object that selectedItems returns seems to be populated with the last selected item in each of its instances. What is strange from the example I provide below is that once you've made your selection and click the label you can update another list with the correct selected values. But the output values are still traced incorrectly.

Feb 6, 2012End-User searches for something and an ArrayCollection is returned with Result objects. This is displayed in a data grid.End-User selects a few of the search results and "moves" it over to another datagrid for use later.End-User does another search.
PROBLEM:Some of the search results might contain something the user already previously selected and moved over to the second datagrid. I want to remove these from the second search result.

I am trying to make an application for the Playbook and this this my SpinnerList code:

Nov 3, 2004I'm in the middle of creating a tree menu that needs to expand/collapse when items are selected. I'm drawing all my info from a DB via sendAndLoad. I'm having alot of problems getting the "math" right for the menu tho. If you look at the attached movies (play main.swf, which loads 1.swf) and click on Villas, you'll see what I mean. I need to have each of these items expand/collapse when they are clicked on. There will never be more then one layer under each main country, so it only has to do the expand/collapse when clicking a country.

Aug 15, 2010I'm creating a facebook application in flex. I'm actually working on the friends component that shows your friends who are using the application. now, each friend has a profile image.
I created the component using a s:List element.
In the Skin Class of the element i configured the requestedColumnCount to 3, which means it shows 3 friends. i added buttons to scroll left and right in the list.
Whenever I scroll to see a different friend, for a half of a second i see no image because the List component is loading the image in order to view it.
is there a way to make the list preload all the elements so i won't have this kind of problem ?

CS3 :: Listbox Php Mail Form
Jul 16, 2009I've been going crazy trying to figure out a couple things, spent the last few days scouring the forums and my understanding of actionscript and php aren't advanced enough to understand what I need to do.I have a very basic contact form (one I've successfully used before) that I thought I would adapt for a new project (to include a couple listboxes).In Flash, visitors enter name and contact info, then we want a listbox for them to select an event on a specific day, then another one that they select a time (both listboxes will be populated within flash, so no dynamic loading).
They hit Submit and the form information is sent to our email address using php.The first difficulty I had was how to capture the selection of the listbox. I don't know much about actionscript, but I thought that would be pretty straight forward and was hoping I'd find something in the community to keep it simple for people like me.
Then to send it to the php email document, I'm not sure how to treat it the standard text is easy to prep for php but I'm at a loss on the listbox-selected items.Right now I try to fill out the form, I hit submit, and get a message: undefined.I commented out the second listbox so I could just focus on getting one to work, but I'm not sure which stage I'm doing it wrong.[code]I think the php is good, and pretty sure I just don't know what I'm doing with the listbox selection.
