ActionScript 3.0 :: Add Two Numbers And Get Result In A Dynamic Textfield?
Oct 27, 2010
I am new to this forum.. and trying to learn as3.. jus started off with learning as3 pdf(from adobe).. and tried to build one simple program to add two numbers and get the result in a dynamic textfield.. I don't know if what I did is correct or not but its still giving me the right result so I guess I am on the right track...code n snapshot is there.. please feel free to correct me if I'm getting the whole thing in a wrong way.. so far its working fine.. but now what I want is that, right after running the application, it should promt a text in the dynamic field saying "enter the numbers and then press enter key" and then rest of the thing has to be same as before. problem is how to get text in mainText textfield( as I've declared ans as number). [code]...
How to add numbers to a dynamic text field. I have a dynamic text box on the stage called riglevel. On the same frame I set riglevel.text=1, but when I try to test the movie the text field is blank. I can get it to work with words, like riglevel.text="testing" works fine, but for some reason I can't figure out how to get this to work with numbers.
I have a random number and a textfield.how to put the result of the random number operation in the textfield ?
function fl_GenerateRandomNumber(limit:Number):Number{ var randomNumber:Number = Math.floor(Math.random()*(limit+1)); return randomNumber;}trace(fl_GenerateRandomNumber(100));[code]....
I'm stuck on this tutorial trying to learn how arrays functions. My task is to declare a variable, write an array, loop through the array and output the match in a textfield already created on stage. This code does that, but it gives me the match in number, instead of writing the name I get the number from the array, 2. How can I get the textfield to display the name Stian?
var bestevenn:String = 'Stian' var mineVenner:Array= new Array();mineVenner[0]='Janne';mineVenner[1]='Liv';mineVenner[2]='Stian';mineVenner[3]='Henri
I am working a calculator with a textfield. It can calculate a if a enter only one number, but when I try to enter two or three doesnt work. I have test several codes but they are not working at all.
I am creating a game for kids, which shows them how to tell the timeI need to put two random numbers into a textfield one for hours and one for minutesso that I can get the app to say show me 13:45 for examplehowever I do not want to include the time of 12:00 as this is where the clock will start and defeats the purposethe clock is 24 hour, going from 1-24 in hoursand 00-60 in minutesive looked everywhere on how to do this but cannot find an answerat the moment i have a textfield which displays the time as the user adds hours etc which i plan to hideso that i can say if this random number textfield is equal to the time textfield then display correct and so on
I have drawn a textfield (instance name - my_Text) onto the stage. In my actions I have a variable (called 'myFrame') which is an 'int' and the value is a number drawn from an xml feed. Now when I trace the variable 'trace(myFrame)' the correct number displays into the output window. However, when I try to display this variable, using 'myText.text = myFrame', an error occurs. How do I display this integer into a textfield?
I have a textfield (the one that shows ammo) that doesent display all numbers. U have uploaded the swf. The code that I used to make the textfiled display some text is: ActionScript Code: function checkAmmo(e:Event){ var percentAmmo:Number = curAmmoInClipFirst/clipSizeWep1*100; if (curAmmoInClipFirst >= 0){ trace(curAmmoInClipFirst); ammoLeftBar.bar.scaleY = percentAmmo/100 } else { Char.reloadGun(); } ammoLeftBar.ammoLeftNumber.text = curAmmoInClipFirst.toString() + " / " + clipSizeWep1.toString(); }}} Which is triggered onEnterFrame.
How I can include the . in the restricted text field. I know how to restrict to only allow for numbers, letters etc... but what I need is to only allow numbers and the dot.
I've created a series of calculations, and I've got that part down. Now, I just need it to show up in the movie.
I've created the dynamic text box in Flash (CS3), but when I hit test, it won't show up.
After all the calculations, I should have a figure that I call totalmoney. My dynamic text box is called total. The user doesn't need to hit anything for it to appear. It just appears as part of the movie.
Here's my code:
stop(); var startDate:Date = new Date(2010,0,12); // use your startyear, startmonth, startdate in the new Date() parameters.var currentDate:Date = new Date(); // assuming user's clock is correct and in your timezone. else use server
Adding 2 numbers having 3 textfields and a button, I can do. The first textfield for input one, the second one for input two and the third one for output (result). The button triggering the operation. [URL]. How can I add 2 numbers only with one textfield( result) and 4 buttons. One button for number 1, another one for number 2, another one for the operator +, and finally another one for the sign =.
I have the code, how to put everything to work: import flash.events.Event; var txt_inp:TextField = new TextField(); txt_inp.type = "input"; txt_inp.x = 168.95; txt_inp.y = 51.10; [Code] .....
I'm looking to create an AS3 driven animation that animates starting from 0 to 365. I would like to have 0 appear at the start and then randomly and slowly start spinning through numbers really fast ranging from 1-365 for about 5 seconds and slowly end on 365. How complex would something like this be?
I want to design a calculator by Flash cs5 , I use appendText Method to write the data in the textfield by the Keyboard . My problem is when I start the application I have to Click on the TextField first then type the numbers. How i can solve it .
I would like the client to be able and type only numbers, and the minus (-) sign into an input textfield. The reason I need them able to type a minus (-) sign is in the case they need the number to be negative. However,
What I have is a dynamicly created row of movieClips. In which TextFields are added with text that's received from an Array. What I would like to be able to do is click on the movieClip that's visible and have the code understand I clicked array[3] for example and it will show the 4th array item in another textfield.
I have the input textfield with instance name vIn, and the variable _vIn. (The textfield is empty.)[code]i have five other variable/textfield pairs were this works ok. I don't get why this pair doesn't work also, my textfields won't accept the subtraction operator, - , even though they're all set to vIn.restrict = "0123456789.-";It doesn't even work in the output textfields were there's no restriction (Negative results are displayed positive)
how to make Flash MX process numbers or letters written in a textfield one by one? For example, if you write 2463 into a textfield, it would make a calculation like 2+4+6+3 and print the result on screen.
Have an Input textfield and write e.g. 123 in it (This is on frame 1).Then later in frame 3 I want that number to be shown in a Dynamic textfield.How do I do that?
I have 2 input textfields on the stage and 1 dynamic textfield.
-input1 is for quantity
-input2 is for page count
When a user enters a number into the page count it makes a calculation and places the outcome into the dynamic textfield. This textfield is for the individual price.All of this so far works. What I want to do now is create another dynamic textfield for the total. So the individual price is multiplied by the quantity and this result is put in the new dynamic text field. I have the code for that working but here is where it gets tricky (for me anyway).The total price is to start off invisible. When I roll over the individual price the total price is to appear (For a test lets just say when I roll over an area the total price appears).To stop cursor flickering this should be done inside a movieclip. So... I have create a movieclip and placed a dynamic textfield inside it. They all have instance names BUT how do I reference it in script?I need to tell the resulting calculation to be placed inside the textfield which is inside the movieclip. If it isn't inside a movie clip I can do it. But how to I reference it when inside one?
Im trying to create same MCs and create a textField inside each MC created, then I am trying to apply onRollOver event into those MCs created and change the textField.textColor.
From my code Im resulting and trace with "undefined" how can I manipulate the dynamic created Textfield inside the dynamic created MC
Here is my code:
for (var i = 101; i < 103; i++) { if ( i != 115 and i != 116 or i != 126 or i != 127 or i != 134) {
I'm creating a playlist for a music player, and I've got the song names displaying correctly in my songTitle holder MC, but there's limited space for the song names to be shown in, and I'm going to eventually have it inside a scrolling movieclip. Problem is, the text inside the textfields disappear when I try to add a mask to the movieclip they're being loaded into. I've tried adding all combos of embedFonts, antialias, and blendModes I ran into, to no avail.how to mask dynamically created textfields with a non-dynamic (Flash IDE-made) mask.
Code:
for (var i:int = 1; i <= _size; i++) { var pl_artist:TextField = new TextField; //all embedFont = true and antiAlias commands no workie }
I using Flash CS5 for the first time, and I'm hitting a snag. I have an input box on Scene 1 for age (variable called old). On scene 3, I have a dynamic test box (variable called display), where I want to display the age (old) + 10.
My Code looks like this: PHP Code: var Real_age = Number(old) + 10; display = Real_age; It's returning NaN.
A trace of the output of Real_age gives: PHP Code: <TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"><P ALIGN="LEFT"> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman" SIZE="12" COLOR="#009900" LETTERSPACING="0" KERNING="0">2</FONT></P></TEXTFORMAT> <p align="left"></p> <p align="left"></p> NaN <p align="left"></p> <p align="left"></p>
The code works OK in Flash 8, but I figure I must have some some setting that is spitting out the unwanted HTML.
and a submit buttonI would like to be able to add up all the numbers inputted into the first three dynamic fields by the end user and the result displayed on the 'answer" field.
i followed the turtorial on how to add numbers to a dynamic text box but wat i really wannt know is how to make it do something if it hits a certain number...I tryed on my own... as i didntwanna bother people here but for some reeason it wont go
if (_root.total = _root.total 10) ( gotoAndPlay(2); }
the total is the text box and i would like it to go to frame 2 wen the numbers hit 10.
I'm having a bit of trouble with a script to check a 'dynamic number'...
Basically, I've got a movie which plays in a loop and each time it goes around, it clicks up a number, which I have on the stage as 'dynamic text' called "ImageNumber" - this bit is working fine it uses the following code to add[code]...
let's say you had a dynamic text field with a number (for example '30'). Everytime you click on a certain button / movie clip, that triggers an animation (so far no problem) AND adds '20' to the number in that textfield.
==> first click, the number displays 50 (30+20), second click 70 (50+20) ...
When you enter a certain keyframe and that number is higher than let's say 290, the movie jumps to frame x. If that number equals 290 or is lower than 290, the movie jumps to frame y.
