ActionScript 3.0 :: Cannot Access A Variable From Within An Object

So ive made a custom message system for my game and the scrollpane component requires me to have the info inside one movieclip. I have a couple of textfields there that i want to change to some variables on demand. The vars are in an external as file and im able to reference them well on the main timeline. The problem is when im inside the scrollable object, all the vars return blank instead. This is the code which is placed inside the object:

You will find enclosed a ".zip" file in wich there's a ".fla" file, a ".txt" file and 6 ".jpg" images. Frame 1 of the FLA only has a "Preload" class/constructor found on another site and works well. Frame 2 launches the graphic interface construction. The file "externalVar.txt" has one variable "maxVin" with a value of 6.
I would like to know WHY i can't acces this variable from outside of the loadVars object's scope (i would better say from outside of its ".onLoad" methode scope). In fact, when i trace my variable "maxVinNum" from outside of this function, flash player return "undefined". Even if i declare "maxVinNum" on the _root (_root.maxVinNum). For information, at the start of frame 2, i have let an instruction in comment: //var maxVinNum = 6; When we activate this instruction, then the variable is directely declared and everything works well. This test allow us to verify that scripts are not bugged. Here is the script of frame 2, some of you may understand quickly what's wrong :

I am developing an application with Flex for the GUI and Restlet for the webservices. I have a strange problem. I put my XML as a property on a generic object, and send it as part of a POST request. But in the Restlet webservice, this XML is irretrievable. How do I retrieve it? I tried initialising the received Representation object to a DomRepresentation, but thats not working. If I put the received Representation object into a Form object, then getFirstValue is returning that XML as a string! I noticed that the contentType of the HTTPService was application/www-form-encoded so I set it to application/xml and its not helping either. I use restlet 2.0m6 and here is the code snippet that I use -

this was created in the class: LanguageButton. here is how i declared the above class within the class i am trying to instantiate it:

then i try to access the btnLMain from the LanguageButton Class and it, (btnLMain) is comming out null:

So I have two movie clips linked with classes- one with the class "theList" and one with the class "challengeBar". I need to use a function in challengeBar to access a function in the theList. They are both immediate children of the stage.so for now I have this (in the challengeBar class)-

}
should it be something along the lines of root.myList.dequeue? or stage.myList.dequeue? How can I access that function?

I have 2 classes, Display holds the currently selected Component:

Component has an ID string and the selectedComponent variable is set on click:

Removing the selectedComponent variable type so it reads public static var selectedComponent; removes the conversion error and seems to change the ID variable but it appears to only be a copy of the object.

i'm building a band website in joomla. Each band has it's own page. I want one mp3 player to cover al bandpages by just editing the url of the playlist.xml (the variable)
I want to connect the pageid (itemid as it is called in joomla) to the xml.
So artist nr 22 has page 22 and playlist 22.xml
with the following code i got the page id:

On the first frame I have a string variable called "nextSection". When the user clicks on a menu item on the site then "nextSection" is populated with the name of that section. Later on in the fla I have a movieclip containing various sections for the site. The swf compiles without any problems.
I'm now attempting to make the file smaller and easier to update. Rather than have 8 different movieclips that load images, I thought I would just have the one. I changed the following lines in my fla

I'm now getting the error "1120: access of undefined property nextSection". The variable does not contain anything when the file compiles. Only when the user clicks on a menu item does the variable get filled (ie: if user clicks on the OutDoor Advertising button, the variable contains the string "outdoorAdvertising" which is also a folder in the site directory). I tried to populate it with the name of one of the sections on the first frame ( ie: nextSection:String="aboutUs"; ) just to see if it worked but still got the error.

Normally, I declare a variable at the very top of all my code like, var myObj: Myobj = new Myobj();...
but for some reason the the new variable being declared is necessary to present within the function, like displaying same objects in the library using for loop.
I notice that variable declare within a function will not be accessible outside the function or from another event handler or from another function....
I have seen code that make it possible my declaring a new variable?
