I dont understand why the variable "button" is recognised and not his copy "previous" in the following function : the copy of button return null but button is correcty recognized by the switch.

I have a method which registers an event listener to each of the MovieClips in an array I have. The method is inside a class, and so is the listener function. The problem is, I'm getting an error that's says "Access of undefined property handleNavToggle", even though is declared.
One movie, named Gallery_1, with hotpots via which external swfs are loaded into a container mc of the main timeline of the Gallery_1 movie,
Via another button function the Gallery_1.swf is loaded into a container mc on the timeline of the main swf, which works alright as well, but when one then clicks the hotspots of the Gallery_1.swf one gets following error message:
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable GallerySite not defined. at HotSpot1/PictureLoad() at HotSpot1/PictureCall()

The traces in the eventHandler function work alright.I wildly imported all relevant classes I could think of, e.g. the GallerySite class to the WebSite class and vice versa, and tried various variable definitions, but am at a loss by now as to where to define the GallerySite variable.
I am having problem to recall the copied bitmap data to show on another private function which is difference from the private function which copy the bitmap process. I am new in AS3 so have no idea how do I make the copied bitmap data into a global variable..

I was working with FMS 3.5 and using the function 'copyTo()' to copy a file to a desired location. Code: fileObject.copyTo("store/"+name+".flv") store is a virtual directory defined in Application.xml file in the server side and name is a variable that stores the fileName without extension This was working fine with FMS 3 and FMS 3.5. Now, I moved to FMS 4 and noticed that this copyTo() function is not working. In the FMS Admin Console, it throws an error:Error: File operation copyTo failed.
A web channel streaming service streams to a certain IP range, it only checks the IP in example.com/cmd.php?id=xxx (channel number) and outputs an rtmpe stream URL, nothing else.How do I trick it to get my local URL instead of the one on their server? I have considered squid proxy, but is there some way to do it with a firefox plugin or greasemonkey script?
Edit:I will try to specify:It's a streaming service from an ISP and cable provider. They stream for free to people on their IP's. On their webtv page, which is called webtv.example.com, there is a flash player. If you are not on an IP from their ISP, you can't stream anything but the test channel.When you try to change channel via. javescript:videoplayer_changechannel(xxx) it makes this HTTP request:

If you are on one of their IP's you will get an RTMP URL, like this:
[URL]
This is what the flash player requests, and if it get's this response it load the channel requested. There is no HTML on the php page, just the URL. Note that the rtmp URL is static.If you are not on one of their IP's it will return a random sentence (something stupid, the programmers having fun).I wan't to trick the flash player into getting the right value, even though it's not on one of the ISP's IP's.
its a door make up of 8 segments, im trying to animate it by making it open and close equaly,each door segment. but my segment is distorting because im doing each one segment bt segmet.is there a way to achieve this in flash?

How can I give each anonymous function a reference to each object represented by f, rather than a simple reference to f each time? Specifically, why is it that each copy of the anonymous function gets bound to a single reference to f? How (I should say why) exactly does AS3 differ from JavaScript in this regard?
how you would target a function's local variable through a concatenated variable string.For example:

I'd expect the trace to be "Hello World" but rather is given "undefined". So if variables created outside functions are created on the main timeline, where are local function variables created and how would you access them?
I'm trying to combine PHP/SQL and Flash. I've got a problem now. I want to load a variable that contains an url to an image. so the variable is like this: [URL] Now I want flash to load the image, not the text. The variable is called 'img1' but the loadmovie function doesn't work when I put it in.

I have a set of Cue Points in an FLV I'm playing. It's an interactive quiz, so the idea is that flash will change a variable, theAnswer, to a different letter depending on which question it is. The answer to question 1 is B, question 2 is D, etc. Either the cue point event listener isn't working, or else it is working and Flash isn't declaring the variables. 1120: Access of undefined property theAnswer. I literally can't find a single problem with my code. I have an almost identical Event Listener further down which works.

I want to create a vector, then call a function that populates that vector with arrays. Fine. The only catch is the function itself will declare new array variables to put into the vector, but are these new array variables private to the function only?e.g. something like this

is System.gc() recognized in AIR 3 for iOS ? Or am I putting on a line a code that's just for pasterity ? I have made every effort to dispose(),null and removeEventListener any unused Object, hence to be able to tell the Garbbage Collector to "go ahead" is a really awesome feature.
In Flash CS4, I've got a project that's working with a lot of XML. Previously, it's all been working fine, but recently I'm getting warnings like this when trying to compile:
Warning: 3594: toXMLString is not a recognized method of the dynamic class XML.
Warning: 3594: appendChild is not a recognized method of the dynamic class XML.
The lines of code that these errors refer to are:
stream.writeUTFBytes(currentXML.toXMLString());
and
currentXML.appendChild(marker.getXML());
"stream" is a FileStream object and "currentXML" is an XML object. "marker" is an instance of my own class, which I have imported, but I'm pretty sure that's not related.As I've said it's only happening now. I don't see anything in my code that could have changed it. Even if I turn the changes into comments, I still get errors.In addition to these two I am also getting other warnings, although all of them concern a method "not being recognized" in the XML class.I am using Flash Pro CS4 and am coding on the first frame of the timeline, as opposed to in a Document Class. Oh, and I'm making an AIR app, not a Flash Player one.
