ActionScript 3.0 :: Custom Cursor Not Showing On Line
Apr 26, 2010
I have a SWF with a custom cursor. When I test the SWF, the custom cursor works fine. When I directly access the SWF, on my website the cursor appears and functions fine. .
But when the SWF is in my HTML with CSS page, the cursor does not appear. I.E it is hidden. There is no cursor at all. My rollover functions seem to detect when the hidden cursor is over them.
Also, this is loaded with a external preloader, that was loaded by another SWF.
I have made a script for a custom cursor, but the only problem is that when I hover the cursor over a button, the button shows on top of it and the cursor hides underneath and you can't really see what you're trying to click.
Here is my script:
Code: onEnterFrame = function() { cursor._x = _xmouse; cursor._y = _ymouse; Mouse.hide(); } (The instance's name is "cursor")
I am making use of a custom cursor on itemRenderers in a List component. The custom cursor works just fine except when I mouse over the Text component which is a child of the itemRenderer at which point I get two cursors, the custom and an iBar one on top of the other.Here's the code:
Is it possible to make a custom cursor with restraints (meaning you only see the cursor when you put your mouse in a certain spot, by defining both the max and min of the x & y), that is placed inside a movie clip; then make the movie clip move on the stage when you click certain buttons.
I'm working on an AS3 flash animation where I am using a custom cursor. At the end of the animation I want to default back to the regular arrow/hand cursor
I am using Flex 4 and AS3 and I am trying to make it so that the user can draw a freehand line with the cursor - I have this part done.However, I also need the line to be a dashed line instead of one solid line like it is now. below is my code I am using. I have found some examples on how to do this, but they are all for straight lines, not for a freehand line.
I am using a custom cursor for my flash app and when I have the cursor click button1 (menu_btn in the code) it goes to scene2 and when I click button2 (current_btn in the code) it goes back to scene1. The problem is that when I click on button2 it leaves an image of the cursor right there on the button. It doesn't happen on button1. It was suggested that I am calling "cursor = new Cursor();" and extra time, but I am not. The code is below.
I want is the Hand Cursor when it moves over an item in the List. I've tried the CellRenderer on it but that elimates all but my last item in the list. And it does show the Hand Cursor over that item. This seems pretty simple to me but I am missing something somewhere. I used a Listener on a Data List I had but think there must be a simpler way. In my List I can view the activeCellRenderers and can see that the useHandCursor on that item is set to false. I think this is where it needs to cahnge?
I am working with Flash CS5 (AS3) on an iMAC running 10.6.8, My problem is, when I test my Flash file in Flash, the button rollovers change the cursor from the arrow to the hand. When I publish the file as SWF and HTML, the cursor only changes in the SWF file, not the HTML. People know that there is a button there if it doesn't change. Has any one run into this issue before, if so, how can I correct this issue?
There is a TextArea, and I can find the line index via textField.getLineIndexAtPoint(event.localX, event.localY).How can I set the background color of the selected line? Sort of a row/line highlight.
My dynamic text box won't show the last line of text, no matter how much or how little text I am feeding it. The text box has an instance name, set to render html, set to multiline.My code is getting the text into the box, but it keeps clipping the last line.
In my file, I've replaced the cursor with a custom cursor of a pencil.It roams around the screen and on mouse over, triggers various actions. While it moves, I'd really like it to draw, so the user has more of an active role in the narrative. Is there a way to do this?
I'm working on a Flash project in which the user can choose to draw on the stage. To indicate to the user that it's possible to draw, I'm changing the default cursor to a pen image. I'm doing this by attaching a movieclip to the cursor, then hiding the cursor:
ActionScript Code: on (press) { penOn = true;
[Code].....
All this works great, with one problem. The line users draw appears on top of the custom cursor, so if they go back over something they've already drawn, they can't see the cursor anymore. I've tried a bunch of fixes, but nothing has worked. FYI, that first block of code I pasted is attached to the button that turns the pen on, while the second block of code is in the bottommost layer of the movie.
i have created a custom cursor in a blank document in a seprate file..now i want to use that custom cursor in my another .fla file how i can do this?I dont knw really abt flash just started learning it using google
this is what I want.I have a MC whose color is set to Alpha 0 which is placed over an area where I want on ROLL_OVER the mouse to change to my custom cursor (which will indicate that a mouse click will "do something")this is what I have done.1. created a MC that will be used as my Custom Cursor with alignment sent to center/middle (or center sq. in the grid)2. I have exported it for AS
Code: //roll over and roll out event handlers: (tgIcon_mc is the MC that I want to make active.) tgIcon_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, rollOverHandler);
I have a script to display a particular custom cursor when the mouse is over a particular button. It works OK, in that the cursor is displayed on MOUSE_OVER and hidden on MOUSE_OUT.The problem is that the cursor flickers, and its ability to activite the button on CLICK seems intermittent.Trace actions show me that the functions assigned to MOUSE_OVER and MOUSE_OUT are repeatedly being called when the custom cursor is over the button.This happens even if I take my hand off the mouse, and the function assigned to MOUSE_MOVE is not being called.Here is the code. (Inspect is a class added to a movie clip in the library, exported for AS.)
Code: /* Custom Cursor */ var inspect_mc:MovieClip = new Inspect();
Is there an easy way to read when buttonMode gets enabled?I want my custom cursor to change to a separate image, like the normal cursor does, for buttonMode enabled objects.
i have a little scratch and win game that's working perfectly, except i am being asked to make a custom cursor (a coin). now, i can easily make a custom cursor for the whole thing, but i think it looks trashy (especially with it going on a website with ads and the like, how would anyone know to click the ad when theres a freakin' coin over it?
anyways, what i want, is to make the coin only show up when the coin is like... over a "scratchable" box..
I have a custom cursor.When I mouse over a hyperlink in the movie, the text crosshair cursor appears, alongside the custom cursor.Is there a way to stop the text crosshair cursor from showing when I mouse over a hyperlink?
i was wondering if it is possible to add your own packages into flash so that they will so up when writing AS code. e.g if i write import flash.display. it offers me the content of that package. i would find it extremely helpful and useful when learning new api?s, but they wont show up. i have heard about other programming environments that offer such functionality, but is there a way to get this in flash CS4
i attached a custom contextmenu to a sprite. there is another sprite lying "on top" of this first one. so if i try to invoke the custom context menu of the first one, it does not show when the cursor is over the second one.
i already set the properties "mouseEnabled" and "mouseChildren" of the second one to "false"
I have set a custom context menu in a .swf, and I can see it normally when previewing it on flash (Test Movie).However, when I see it on my browser, I can't see the custom options (only the reduced context menu with settings and about macromedia...)On my first frame I have an actions layer with this (context + loader):
[AS] root_cm = new ContextMenu(); root_cm.hideBuiltInItems(); root_cm.customItems.push(new ContextMenuItem("Add to Favourites", itemHandler1)) root_cm.customItems.push(new ContextMenuItem("send e-mail", itemHandler2));
I'm running into a problem where for my current project I need to use a large custom mouse for interaction throughout a website. The custom mouse (a movieclip) works fine until the user needs to select a option from a ComboBox.The custom mouse clicks the component fine but once the ComboBox expands with it's options the custom mouse appears behind the expanded list.Is there anything I can do to get this to work? I'd really rather not create a 'custom' comboBox for this project as the material was already prepared and set in stone. ps:: i found this information below, but it was for AS3 and I need AS2 and in any case didn't do anything for my movie when i tried it.
