I am working with Flash CS5 (AS3) on an iMAC running 10.6.8, My problem is, when I test my Flash file in Flash, the button rollovers change the cursor from the arrow to the hand. When I publish the file as SWF and HTML, the cursor only changes in the SWF file, not the HTML. People know that there is a button there if it doesn't change. Has any one run into this issue before, if so, how can I correct this issue?

I hope to have some music on my site and have been playing around with various Flash based, XML driven, mp3 players [though I'm a beginner with Flash]. I've got one to look [more or less] as I want it but it doesn't work! It works when previewed within Flash CS4 but not within Dreamweaver. The mp3 [the Josephine Foster song] is there, the XML file is there - I can't think what I've done wrong. Here's the url:[URL]

I created a carousel based off the tutorials and it works great on my computer but, when I create an html file and attach the .swf file the flash file loads but, the icon images or anything from the .xml file doesn't appear.This is what I use to load my .swf file :

Do I have to put a special script in the html document for it to be able to see the xml file?
I did an flv, added a Cue point which has an invisible button appear on stage with a navigateTourl code. Works fine on my server but this video had to be uploaded to a Drupal site which I knew nothing about and it is up there now. As I look at the video I see the player is different as well as I get the hand cursor all the way thru the video. if I click the mouse it just stops the video then click again and it resumes. How can I disable this so I get the cursor just for the get url button.
View 1 RepliesI am using a custom cursor for my flash app and when I have the cursor click button1 (menu_btn in the code) it goes to scene2 and when I click button2 (current_btn in the code) it goes back to scene1. The problem is that when I click on button2 it leaves an image of the cursor right there on the button. It doesn't happen on button1. It was suggested that I am calling "cursor = new Cursor();" and extra time, but I am not. The code is below.

View 8 RepliesI've created an eBook that's 972 X 500 pixels (13.5" X 7"). The image in the browser is roughly 9.5 inches wide. Is there a way to make the browser display the image at actual size? Am I missing something here? The SWF file does print out at the true size from the browser.
View 2 RepliesI have a SWF with a custom cursor. When I test the SWF, the custom cursor works fine. When I directly access the SWF, on my website the cursor appears and functions fine. .
But when the SWF is in my HTML with CSS page, the cursor does not appear. I.E it is hidden. There is no cursor at all. My rollover functions seem to detect when the hidden cursor is over them.
Also, this is loaded with a external preloader, that was loaded by another SWF.
I have made a script for a custom cursor, but the only problem is that when I hover the cursor over a button, the button shows on top of it and the cursor hides underneath and you can't really see what you're trying to click.

View 2 RepliesI want is the Hand Cursor when it moves over an item in the List. I've tried the CellRenderer on it but that elimates all but my last item in the list. And it does show the Hand Cursor over that item. This seems pretty simple to me but I am missing something somewhere. I used a Listener on a Data List I had but think there must be a simpler way. In my List I can view the activeCellRenderers and can see that the useHandCursor on that item is set to false. I think this is where it needs to cahnge?

I have a flash file using xml to link to html pages all within SharePoint. When I click on a link from inside flash, it opens up a new browser window with the html content.Is there a way to open the html content in the same browser that the flash file is in?
View 6 RepliesI have a task to upgrade a web site. I have a map of ND with some cities on it. I needed to add a new city to the SWF which did not seem to be hard (asuming I did it correct). The action on all the buttons for each city look like this except the name after the # is the city selected.

I never worked with movie files before and I'm having problems to play a f4v file from a html file.
Inside flash, when I do a ctrl+enter, the video shows and plays just fine.
When building the .html file to play it all, only my presentation and movie skin will show up but the movie won't load.
Even if I do a file > publish the video won't show up or play. Everything I have on timeline is working just fine (and again, even the videoskin is showing up).
Now, do I have to change anything inside publish settings or do I need to try something different with html?

I have an intro page that allows users to enter either a high bandwidth (flash) version of the site or a low bandwidth (html) version of the site. The flash has a preloader but it is still quite long for some to load. I was wondering if it is possible and what the best way to have the swf file load behind the scenes on the intro page so that when the use clicks the high bandwidth enterance the swf is already loaded or mostly loaded.

I am a Flash novice and ran into a problem when my Flash generated html file opens in Safari (I'm designing on a Mac) but would not open on a recipient's computer - a PC using IE. I'm using CS5 and set up the file for actionscript 2.0. I know one needs to be sensitive to the various browsers being used, but how does one go about that and how can I begin to troubleshoot my current problem? I didn't use any special coding...I don't know action script yet.
