I have an animation with some text in tlf on it. when i export an swf i can see the writing but when i want to export an avi file i can't see it. Can anyone help me with this? It's really important to my project..

It works great when I move through the timeline.However, when I test the movie or publish it as swf or htmp, the mask doesn't work. View 8 RepliesI have a text field component that I am dynamically populating with text. The words appear one letter at a time in a teleprinter style fashion. I also have rendered certain words with HTML to make style changes within the text.Now all this works fine, except because the HTML text is larger than the body of the other text, I am losing theteleprintereffect at the bottom of the text field. In other words, after a set amount has been printed, users are not seeing the letters printed out one at a time, but instead just get a printed line of text appear from beneath the visible section of the text window.
View 2 Repliesa few months ago we bought a flash ready template that I customized with our information. I decided to update the website information and wrote new text. Now when I do the publish preview the upated text is not showing up. I have not change the font, color just the size because in the original it looked too small. when looking at the properties is shown as the default of font (the one the template came with) static text.
What is causing the updated text not to show up? I am not really experienced with flash, i am trying to figure out also how to see the code of the pages but i don't know how to do that.

I have a series of dynamic text fields that do not show text when published. The fonts for these text fields are embedded and I do not get any errors on publishing. The project worked perfectly in CS4, but now in CS5, I had to re-embed all of the fonts in the dynamic text fields, but they won't show. What could be the problem?
View 2 RepliesI am working with Flash CS5 (AS3) on an iMAC running 10.6.8, My problem is, when I test my Flash file in Flash, the button rollovers change the cursor from the arrow to the hand. When I publish the file as SWF and HTML, the cursor only changes in the SWF file, not the HTML. People know that there is a button there if it doesn't change. Has any one run into this issue before, if so, how can I correct this issue?

I managed to show the output of a shell command in TextArea of flex by calling following php file via HTTPService and then using the dataprovider attribute of TextArea to show the returned output.

I've created an eBook that's 972 X 500 pixels (13.5" X 7"). The image in the browser is roughly 9.5 inches wide. Is there a way to make the browser display the image at actual size? Am I missing something here? The SWF file does print out at the true size from the browser.

I have a dynamic text box, which is fed text from an external text file. The "render as HTML" button is turned on. On the external text file, what is the HTML tag for centering text? I tried CENTER, but it failed.
View 5 RepliesI am using AS2 and am trying to load text with the html formatting in place. The button for render text as HTML is clicked and I tried using the action script with the same purpose. Some of the html reads, such as <b> instead of <strong>, the <p> and </br> tags are working. I cannot however get <i>, colors, etc... to work. I have embedded all of the characters and glyphs into the dynamic text field. Nothing seems to be working for several of the text attributes which are present in the .txt file I'm loading.
View 5 RepliesI am trying to preload an mp3 file dynamically while showing the typical 'percentage loaded' in a dynamic text box. However for some reason, the percentage just doesn't count up - it freezes on 100% even though the mp3 file is still loading. I have included the code that I'm using below. So I am working on an interactive piece that requires the use of pre rendered 3D animation clips with transparency. what I was curious about is... Would it be better to export the video as a series of PNGs (the longest is about 600 frames long) and import those into my movie clip or should I export the video as an FLV that is close to 400 Mb in size? Or am I completely missing a a better way to get this pre-rendered animation into my piece as a clickable movie cllip with transparency?

1- How do I get the text to be selectable in the PDF created from FTE > postscript method
2- (If not that) - How can I create a PDF from flash where the PDF is identical to what I'm seeing on screen - basically doing a direct final-rendered-Sprite to PDF .... if there's a way to make that PDF manually, then maybe I can embed the fonts manually...
Some context:
- How we're using fonts - they're SWF's created from teh fonts using [embed] and embedAsCFF=true for use in FTE
- I thought of using FTE only for typesetting / layout - and when we get the TextLines, using the good old flash...TextField (which does become selectable in final pdf) .... but I cant do that because some of our textlines have several variations of font styles and inline (GraphicElement) images on the same line.... I think its impossible to detect all of those variation can create the appropriate number of textfields?
client decided on a different font (after we finished everything), so i had to go change the font. in one page, whenever i change the font in one text block, the XML-driven lists stop being rendered. they load, according to the trace statements, but nothing actually renders. when i change it back to the original font, boink! everything is just fine. if i delete the text and create a new field... same thing. i finally had to hide the thing and make a new text block in it's place.

Is there any way I can embed HTML in flash? I know I can do this with text boxes but is there any other way I can do it? If not I know theres is the load feature where I can load text from a text file. With the html text box editing, Can i link that to the text file?. As in when you edit the text box with html could i have the textbox's instance name equal to the text file? With this my issue is with the <a href> in one textbox, I would like when i click those it open another text file in a different text box.
Clarification: I have two text boxes in my flash file.One has current products. And the other is the description of the product they select. I would like a way to edit and change the products in the first text box without having to keep using the FLA file. Which is why i am using this code

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to edit a .fla file. It's actually a flash game, a dating sim game to be specific. Now, the game has dialogues where you have to press a "next button" so that the next dialogue will appear, but I've noticed that all the dialogues are gone, they're not appearing at all. It's just a blank space. At the same time, the game has dynamic texts like money, energy and name of the player but likewise it's just an empty space. I've noticed that when I exported the game as swf. The text appears but it's distorted. For example the dialogue "Where am I" would appear as "a aa ii". I've also noticed that when I opened the .fla, it says that there are fonts missing.. I dont know if that has something to do with this..

the problem is the str get the whole test file, if the text file has multiple line,can I read the file each line by line, such as a function like readLine or something,so the str only get information for each line?

Does anyone know if there is a quick fix for this because what was there before the <b></b> is not working now.
