I am trying to download a heavy swf dynamically to my site using URLLoader class. I'd like to know if it is possible to use a symbol inside the swf as a separate object?[code]Embedding the swf increases the initial load time of my site and I want to make it dynamic. How can I access the Kungfu symbol from Fight.swf after it is downloaded using the URLLoader class?

I'm making a game based on pong. At the start of a round, the ball will go in a random direction and when the ball hits a paddle the ball will move in a certain direction depending where it hit the paddle. The more centralized the hit is, the more straight the bounce is. Here's the tricky bit: the ball may hit either a vertical or horizontal paddle and I want the xspeed(horizontal movement) or yspeed(vertical movement) of the ball to increase/decrease in proportion to the opposite speed while keeping the same general speed of the ball(it can decrease and increase). Here's an example(you might want to get a pen/pencil and a piece of paper):
Let's say the ball is moving at 45 degrees(so it's going downward right) and hits a horizontal paddle smack dab in the middle, thus it goes at 270 degrees(straight up). So, at first the xspeed and yspeed are both the same, then the xspeed is zero and the yspeed is at the max(to the general speed). However, let's say that the ball hits the same paddle but at the edge(either edge will do the same) thus making the ball go at a near 360 degree angle, making the xspeed near max and yspeed almost zero. Like I said, I want the two speeds to increase/decrease in proportion to the general speed, this is so that xspeed or the yspeed don't exceed the general speed.

Does any one know of an actionscript function or class to convert strings representing math equations (like: "integral(e^(1/2), a, b)" ) into nicely formatted formulas, for display purposes (using the integral glyph, etc..) ?
Purpose: I need to display nice looking math formulas that have been entered as strings (without special characters) in an xml file.

I have a small project that requires me to decompile a few SWF files in order to make some modifications to them. However, I do not own any Flash decompiler software.
I have searched for a freeware but, unfortunately, I cannot find one that outputs the FLA file.
Can someone that has a license to a Flash decompiler software please assist me and decompile the files so that I can work on them ?

My mission here (and I'll try not to convolute it too much!) is to edit a flash based form from a decompiled SWF. The form's main purpose is to record user information in text fields, attach a file and email both to an external address using a few PHP scripts (I'm presuming) to dictate how the information is delivered. My problem is that SO THINK decompiler does not attach ACTIONSCRIPT to the layers and frame in the timeline, instead it exports each Action-script as a seperate .AC file. I have not yet been able to export an FLA that allows me to edit the scripts effectively, and am wondering if there is a more effective way to use a decompiler in this case, or if there is another solution to the problem.

I am looking for a script that will go through ~75,000 SWF files that we have, will decompile each and find all the Shapes/Elements which size is greater than x.The output should look smthng like:SWF Filename "SWF Path" "SWF overall Size" "Element Name" "Element Size".Does anybody know of a software that might be able to handle that task? How do decompile scripts work ? would it be easy to write something to handle the above task?

I tried hard to do this myself, but it isn't working. I would like to offer $20 to anyone who can decompile this flash program, edit the actionscript to load an xml settings file from URL (instead of loading the one compiled with the program), and package it up for me. My main problem is that it doesn't decompile in a way that runs when recompiled with the programs I use.[code]...

I'd like to gain read only access to the following parameters of embedded Flash videos located on sites that I do not own through my own custom browser extension/add-on:
Time location of playback head (so I can display the current time in the browser extension via HTML5/JavaScript) Frames (so I can make capture them to an image file, save it and display image in browser extension) Original Dimensions in pixels (so I can display the original video dimensions via JS/HTML5 in browser extension)
Is this possible by using Javascript and HTML5 from a browser extension?
Would I have to use something like the SWFObject Javascript API [URL]

After installing Adobe Flash CS4 and saved some of my files in that application they suddenly can't open anymore!
I've tried to re-install both CS3 and CS4 and none of them will open my .fla anymore :-(
I've even tried to format my entire computer, installed it again but still no luck.
Therefor I have re-coded my entire web-site from scratch once again (pheww!) but I need all the text which is saved in my .fla (or .swf).

We've got a client who wants to update an existing flash course and they want to move all the text from the existing static text field into xml.Is there any way to have flash somehow export all that text?I suppose I could write a function that executes on every frame and traces out the html text of every field on each frame and then just copy and paste that and wrap the xml tags around it...Also, the client wants to be able to make updates without having to know any html. Is the best way to do that to create a little RTE exe that they can use to "page" through the nodes, make their updates and use something like SWF Studio to write a new xml file?

I have a load of FLA files with large libraries of vector graphics. Is there a way of forcing Flash to create an export(jpg or swf)of all the graphics in a library without having to manually drag them onto the stage or into a scene before publishing or exporting them? I'm thinking there might be an SDK or utility or something that can read fla files and export everything programmatically.

There is an .fla file that has a sound wave in it's library. However I do not have this sound wave saved on my computer so I can not edit or open this sound in another application. I was wanting to know if its possible to extract this *.wav file from out of the fla library? I did some research and they said to goto export movie and export it as an *.wav file. However I tried this it exported the whole fla file as one big *.wav dud. I tried to play it and nothing happened which makes sense.

I was only able to find FLV MetaData Viewer, but its dated, from 2006, and doesn't install properly on Win7. [URL] Edit: I'm open to any method of extraction, either app or library.

I am trying to extract images from flash on the following web-site: [URL]
I noticed that every time I click on "Next image", an images is requested from sever. Sample URL is [URL]
So, this URL is exactly what I need, but I don't know how to extract all these URLs from the .swf file I have. I don't have any experience with flash, but I think that URLs should be in the .swf file. I tried "grep '110206os_o_003_T1C1_2pw26' adspage_slider-2.swf", but didn't get any result :(((
